The Board Members of the Kittinger F-4 Park initiative have been working to get an F-4 Phantom installed as a monument at the Kittinger Park at the Orlando Executive Airport. The purpose of this monument is to honor and recognize the Central Florida Veterans that served our country and participated in the Vietnam War from 1961-1973. Over 2.7 million service men and women served in Vietnam with over 37,000 killed in the conflict. 333 servicemen and women from Central Florida lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
The F-4 Phantom was the most significant aircraft that flew in the Vietnam War. The aircraft provided close air support for the Army and Marines that fought the ground war. The aircraft was used to interdict strategic and tactical targets as directed by higher headquarters. The F-4 aircraft shot down the most enemy aircraft. The two fighter aces in the war, USAF and US Navy, flew F-4's. I shot down a Mig 21 with an F-4. There is not a better monument to recognize the War in Vietnam than an F-4 Phantom. This monument is a way for our community to recognize and say thanks to the servicemen and women from the Central Florida area that served in the Vietnam War and the 333 that made the supreme sacrifice for our country.

Recently installed jet fans hang from the ceiling above the southbound (upper) deck of the SR 99 tunnel. Sensors in the tunnel walls activate the fans when there’s an increase in vehicle emissions. Took this shot while installing System 7.0.1 on the SE/30. Was actually just temporary to get a fresh system install & ensure sound is working. Next up I'll try 7.1 now that I've got 32mb of RAM in this classic old powerhouse! heheh

This section of US 101 is at risk for erosion from the Hoh River. An analysis of the lower Hoh River has identified the need for additional preventive measures at this location to avoid future emergency repairs. WSDOT will construct engineered log jams in the Hoh River, adjacent to US 101, to prevent river bank erosion associated with flooding. In addition, this project improves fish habitat by adding large woody debris to the river. For more on this project, see:

On May 16, 2018, crews install fall protection along the top of the walls of the abutment on SR 167 as part of ongoing construction for the I-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project in Renton.
New guardrails are being installed along SR 203 between Stillwater Hill Road and NE 88th Street. Since February, this portion of roadway had been reduced to a single lane due to damage from a landslide.
We pulled out this boiler over the holidays, and have just finished installing a new one, which is huge. Huge job, which requires many hours and manpower, I had to haul pipe to this site. This is what I do when I'm not designing dioramas....
