Padma is very insecure sometimes. Barry doesn't need to ask, he just knows when she isn't feeling so great... and he knows exactly what to do.

A self-portrait of my insecurity, trying to stay hidden in the shadows.
Mamoudou Diallo is awarded for his exceptional leadership as FAO Representative, which enabled the Organization to make significant progress in the reduction of food insecurity in Angola and raise awareness of FAO’s activities. His success in mobilizing resources allowed FAO to expand its area of work in Angola and led to the full implementation of the Country Programming Framework, only two years after its establishment.

LONDON (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Hunger around the world has fallen significantly since 1990. According to the latest U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) report on food insecurity, the proportion of the world’s population that is undernourished has dropped from 23.6 percent in 1990 to 14.3 percent today - putting the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) of halving that 1990 figure by 2015 within reach.
While the report notes that the current rate of progress in the fight against hunger would actually fall short of meeting the MDG, the heads of the U.N. agencies that authored the report say, “the target can be met, provided that additional efforts to reduce hunger are brought underway, both to address immediate needs and to sustain longer-term progress."
Governor Phil Murphy signed two bills that will help combat food insecurity among students across the state. The first bill, A2368/S1677, which was sponsored by Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, requires New Jersey schools to provide free breakfasts and lunches to students from working-class and middle-income families on Friday, September 9, 2022.

Three men killed in Callao in a suspected hit killing, five alleged thieves shot dead by police in a chase in east Lima, and yet another explosive lobbed at a school in San Juan de Lurigancho as part of an extortion racket — all this past weekend — only helped to confirm the soaring perception of insecurity in Lima.
In a new Ipsos Peru poll, published in newspaper El Comercio, 90 percent of respondents said they feel unsafe on the city's streets, up from 73 percent two months ago. The survey was held with 474 people in metropolitan Lima.
The poll found that 30% of Limeños have been the victim of crime in the past year, with almost 80% of those individuals being targeted on the street.
The release of the survey follows Congress' approval late last week of a request from the government for special legislative powers to reduce crime and improve security.
Interior Minister Jose Luis Perez Guadalupe said the legislation his portfolio is writing up will allow the government to tackle an increase in contract killings and extortions that have become a major concern in certain areas of both Lima and regions such as Ancash and the north coast.
The Executive is also planning to write legislation on organized crime, which covers a broad spectrum from delinquency and armed robbery to oganized crime including extortion, hired gunmen, drug traffic, land and real estate trafficking, and the illegal timber trade.
Independent experts say that tougher police response and stiffer penalties alone won't be enough to reduce crime, which requires the government to also focus on prevention.
“The modifications to the penal code don't constitute prevention strategies to dissuade youth from starting a criminal life,” said lawyer Mario Amoretti.
“This isn't going to be resolved only with laws,” added Roberto Miranda, also a lawyer. “But rather saving [youth] from marginalization.”
Economist and former Central Bank chairman, Richard Webb, in an op-ed on in El Comercio, said that widespread corruption in the judiciary, whose job is to guarantee justice, is also one of the causes of increased corruption, and of the growing fear that touches every level of society. This regress, despite many recent economic gains, should be included in the equation when assessing quality of life, Webb says.
Concerns about crime are expected to be one of the main campaign issues during next year's presidential election.

You can almost see this candle waving its hands saying "look at me, look at me" - The first insecure candle on earth !
I know, eye pictures are so cliche. Blah, blah, blah. But, I love this picture anyways regardless of how many times it has been done.
Please leave notes! :D
This is my friend, Sarah Rose. She is one of the most beautiful, yet one of the most insecure/unconfident girls I know.

As my SL is somehow not happy with doing the shadows by itself, I have to play around with that by myself. And that´s why it looks so lame.

A Somali refugee woman with her child pick up wood at UNHCR's reception centre in Dollo Ado, Ethiopia. ; Worsening drought, and violence from armed extremist group al Shabaab, has caused more than 5,000 Somalis to seek refuge in Ethiopia so far this year – four times the number that crossed the border in 2018. The extremists have struck fear into the hearts of many and the climate emergency has fuelled a cycle of vulnerability for pastoralists and farmers. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, more than 2 million people are at risk of severe hunger as Somalia faces its worst harvest since the 2011 famine that internally displaced 1.5 million people. With al Shabaab extorting money, forcing residents to grow crops that fail and forcibly recruiting child soldiers, families increasingly have no choice but to flee.

"And if I show you my dark side
Will you still hold me tonight
And if I open my heart to you
And show you my weak side
What would you do?"
"E se ti mostro il mio lato oscuro
Mi stringerai ugualmente questa notte?
E se ti apro il mio cuore
E ti mostro il mio lato debole,
Che cosa farai?"
Inutile spiegare di quale storia si stia parlando...
These etchings are inspired by the sculptural art work created by Chi Aoki in her 'Transforming Bodies' Exhibition. I created this on a4 cartridge paper then used brown and black inks to go over it.

Clickin Moms hosts monthly Creativity Challenges which is a wonderful way to stretch yourself artistically. February's challenge is called “Body Language” and involved using something other than the face to convey emotion. From Sarah Wilkerson, host of the challenge:
"When you think of human expression, to which part of the subject are you drawn? Most people are drawn to the face, specifically the eyes and - to a slightly lesser extent - the mouth. It is in the face that we pick up the most obvious emotional cues - sadness, happiness, anger, boredom, contentment, frustration, intensity. As students of human emotion know, however, true feelings are often conveyed by body language beyond the face. Studying body language can be very helpful not only in broadening the way that you shoot, but in being more effective in your photographic storytelling, establishing mood, and heightening your own awareness of the way the moments you capture are likely to be perceived (even subconsciously) by your clients and/or audience. You can use this knowledge to direct your subjects or simply to aid in your observations and know when a moment is just right to illustrate your story or vision. This month, focus on what the body alone can convey."
This is me. I often feel insecure and wish I had more confidence.
Migrants returning home in spite of financial insecurity and unemployment
A reverse migration, forced upon people by the loss of their livelihoods due to the lockdown enforced to fight the spread of the coronavirus disease is playing out across India. Molitics reached to Chakkarpur village Gali N0.7 in Haryana where hundreds of West Bengal workers are leaving the village unwillingly after losing their jobs. Moreover, they are made to pay Rs.5-6 thousand per person as bus fare at this critical time to reach their destination.

Benni doesn't have very much self confidence so it takes him a while to trust furry new comers. He's still doing some posturing (subtle bullying) and is attempting to put Mellow in his place. Mellow has been a very good boy about Benni's annoying behavior. Despite corrections for his bad behavior, we haven't been able to break Benni of this habit. Insecurity can be problematic and I just don't have Cesar's energy. I wish I could help my boy.
Yes young ladies, don't forget to be super-insecure and bring your lunch to work in the klassiest way.
