None of the flies (or other insects) in my photos are frozen or dead. None have been manually 'posed'. All are photographed alive and well in their natural environment, unless they are being killed or eaten by another insect in the photo.

A very dark jewel wasp X2 . I trapped this on the kitchen window

Not what I expected to find on a nacturnal foray. this bee was resting in a bark crevice at the base of the big Cefn Ila oak. I would love to get it identiified but bees are out of my remit.

My first set of shots of a Hoverfly feeding on one of my favourite flowers for insect photography Hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium)

This time I decided to photograph some insects like grasshoppers and butterflies, so I took a long walk searching for them.

Among these flowers there were a lot of butterfies and bees. It was a great scenery. I take lots of photographs from there.

This is the last video clip of the mantis-earthworm encounter. It appears that the limited defense put up by the earthworm (perhaps a couple small nips at the mantis) were enough to drive off the mantis. The mantis bully is really a sissy.
