I picked this one up from the forest floor and he's just in the process of rolling himself up into his defensive ball position. Apparently some species also secrete foul tasting and sometimes poisonous chemical as well ..I never licked my fingers after having him in my hand...just in case :)

A male Stethynium triclavatum parasitoid wasp of the Mymaridae found in birch in the garden. Additional pictures below of this beautiful wasp.
This tiny insect was annonying me while I was doing my Homework, It has to pay for me a shot :D!
This was shot using the Raynox 250 and Full 18x Zoom!
About 3mm in length! You can imagine it's size comparing it to the top of 4 colors pen!

Yeah this is late, but to be honest - I've struggled with motivation recently. Astrophotography seems to be all I'm interested in right now, and mixed with my continued dislike for Flickr I suppose that's the reason for this delay!
Sad to say but I think I'll be gone from here when this 52 is finished.

This fly seems to consider throwing itself off the leaf, having to bear a mite larger than its head.

Detail: Just a quick working model hold together with tape velcro and cable binders ;-) Big eyes wrking with ultra sonic to measure the distance to avoid obstacles.
