Spring insects are still few and far between in my own garden this year but yesterday this fantastic hoverfly came in to land on one of my plants.
I've wanted to fold this for a while, but I never got around to it until now. The folding sequence was fairly simple, with only one or two difficult steps. The shaping was also fairly easy, although it was quite difficult to glue the layers inside the abdomen. At first I tried to add tiny claws like real dragonflies have, but it ended up being too small and not looking good. For the paper, I tried treating tissue paper with two coats of MC, with very good results. I definitely recommend this technique to anyone who makes single and double tissue.
