Open to the elements, the inner courtyard of the hotel was a cool (literally) place to have breakfast or brunch.
The inner bulkhead usually needs some fresh metal both inside and out due to it being a place that both water and condensation dwell in.
Once i had finished welding paint was sprayed into the cavity and wax oil to help keep future rust at bay.

You don't need to know that your pretty by a mirror or be told that your pretty by a friend! thats nice to say but it's the inside that counts... not really the outside!

The Mary Murphy Mine was the productive mine in Chaffee County. It is believed to have been in operation from 1870-1925, with intermittent operation from 1925-1951. The Mary Murphy produced over 110,000 ounces of gold from 1901-1949, which by todays standards is over $125,000,000. No information is available for production before 1900, but it is believed that the mine produced over $200,000,000 in gold in it's lifetime. The mine itself is located above treeline on Chrysolite Mountain.
The tramhouse is located just below treeline, and is accesible to check out. The tramhouse delivered ore down the mountain to the tram terminal which was then shipped further down the mountain side to the mill for processing. The cable had 96 buckets and each bucket could carry 200lbs or ore. Two men operated the brakes for the tramway. It took 40 minutes for the buckets to reach the mill and return empty. About 128 tons of ore could be moved in a 24 hour period. At its peak, the mine employed 250 men.
