Another one from the stuffed animal collection at the Africa Museum (for MH).
I was so impressed by the size of this animal. An adult hippopotamus weighs 1,400 kilos on average and can run 30 km/hr.
Drawn for my fantasy universe Wulfgard. Need more art for the wiki, which is badly in need of updating...
Some say this children's rhyme/game refers to the Great Plague but others argue that this is just a contemporary interpretation.
Meanwhile, I'm using dip pen and no reference so completely outside my comfort zone.

The autumn color is late this year in northeast Iowa. I drew from my car at Washington Park which is close by my house in Cedar Falls. It's along the Cedar River.

I drew from the car, sitting in the parking lot of the Washington Cemetery United Methodist Chapel, looking east. It was drizzling. This is northern Cedar Falls. Farmland and dirt roads are only a few minutes from my old town, in-town neighborhood. There's still green grass. The fields have mostly been plowed. Even on a grey and rainy day the autumn color is gem-like.

I had gone to bed knowing that the night sky was clear. When my husband gently prodded me awake at 5:30am with "The moon's up.", I sprang into action. I'd attempted this view of the eastern sky from my second floor window yesterday, too.

Pero hoy quiero despedirme con este dibujo que representa como las nuevas costumbres desplazan nuestras tradiciones. A pesar de la dramatización lo hago sin entrar en juicios de valor, solo como la constatación de un hecho, como testigo de los cambios culturales que atestiguan que la cultura, como la vida, es cambio.
