Lake (lac) Tasiujaq drains several large rivers and is bordered on its west shore by steep cliffs (Hudsonian Cuestas) that are the highest in the province of Quebec.

Lake Tasiujaq is a vast brackish water lake with a narrow opening (called the Goulet) between cuestas to Hudson’s Bay. A large volume of water surges through this bottleneck and is driven by the rise and fall of the tides. The powerful flow ensures that the waters of the Goulet never freeze in winter. Lake Tasiujaq is one of the largest natural lakes in Quebec and is included in the boundaries of Tursujuq national park.

In May 2019 we stayed a week in Copenhagen, Denmark, and did a day-trip to Malmö, Sweden, on May 2nd (it takes only about 40 minutes by train)

The tulips were in full bloom then and there were lovely created planting beds everywhere ...

Wir waren im Mai 2019 (wie das Jahr zuvor auch) eine Woche in Kopenhagen und haben dann am 2. Mai (also genau vor zwei Jahren) einen Tagesausflug in das nahegelegene Malmö, Schweden, gemacht (mit dem Zug sind das nur etwa 40 Minuten Fahrtzeit)

Die Tulpen waren gerade in voller Blüte und wir genossen die wunderschön gestalteten Pflanzbeete in der ganzen Stadt

The two piers in Whitby have been in existence since before the 1500's. By 1540, the two oak piers (east and west) were replaced partially, with stonework (in the reign of King Charles 1), with further work around the 1600ï¿½s. Both piers were rebuilt in 1735, each measuring approximately 183m, but by 1814 the west pier was further extended to reach a length of 309m. In 1905, both the piers had new pier ends built on, each of a length of 152m.
