Domenica 13 ottobre 2013, alle ore 11.00, presso il Teatro Manzoni (via Manzoni, 42 - Milano), "Aperitivo in Concerto" inaugura la stagione 2013-2014 con un nuovo, appassionante progetto del sassofonista David Murray, alla guida del suo Infinity Quartet e con la partecipazione dell'icona del neo-soul Macy Gray, che non si esibisce a Milano dal 2010.
La collaborazione fra una cantante dal timbro peculiare e dalla frequentazione di un neo-soul elegantemente patinato ma di grande intensità emotiva, con un artista che tramite il linguaggio delle avanguardie post- Albert Ayler scava nella tradizione dei grandi tenoristi del jazz come Coleman Hawkins, Ben Webster e Paul Gonsalves, porta a dei risultati straordinari quanto spettacolari: una rivisitazione modernissima della cultura vocale e strumentale africano-americana, che sa guardare con spirito innovativo sia alla drammaticità poetica di Billie Holiday che all'espressività aggressiva di una interprete R&B come Esther Phillips.

Yayoi Kusama is arguably Japan’s most famous living artist. Born in 1929, she is one of the few practising artists whose work spans the most important “isms” of the 20th century. At the same time, her work is undeniably contemporary. For decades, her dazzling mirror and polka-dot infused installations, or Infinity rooms have enthralled audiences.
First developed in 1965, the mirrored interiors multiply and reflect, expanding outwards ad infinitum. This vertiginous, almost hallucinatory experience has evolved to become trademark Kusama and feels incomplete without the now mandatory selfie in this ever expanding universe of dots, lights and mirrors.

Infinity, a 385-foot yacht, built in Netherlands by Oceanco, was delivered in 2022. Its owner, Eric Smidt, CEO of Harbor Freight Tools, reportedly paid $300 million for the vessel. Infinity can accommodate up to 16 guests in 8 staterooms, with 43 crew members. The interior was designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, featuring a teak deck, steel hull and aluminum superstructure. It currently sails under the Cayman Islands flag. It replaces a 291-foot yacht sold in 2022.
