She twists her little body around to watch it when I get up to cook or do laundry or something. She seems to especially like music (Fuse and MTV) and sports programs.
Aunt Joan adores babies, and I'm glad Owen didn't disappoint her. He had one of his crabbiest days of his short life when she met him (due to a change in formula) and she still wanted to hold him as much as possible.
The quick version of the story:
We decided to have a homebirth. Labor began about 3:45 am on 06/21/2009. Her water broke @ 3:20 pm while we were timing contractions. At 8:25 pm she was 5cm dilated. That night @ 12:30 am she was 7cm. We managed to crash for about 3 hours so Natalie could rest. She had plateaued at 7cm for a very long time which was discouraging. We were losing hope when finally she was 8cm... but making very slow progress. Natalie was completely drained and ready to call it quits. Then something flipped in her and she went auto pilot. Hit 10cm at about 3:30 pm. 1st stage of labor time = 35 hours, 52 mins. Then she pushed for about 40 mins and the boy was out. Her most intense experience ever and mine too. Very happy right now.
He was born the day after Father's Day @ 4:15 pm on 06/22/2009. Weighed in at 6lbs 9oz, 20 inches. He took to her breast very quickly. 10 fingers, 10 toes and a hearty cry.
Another custom I just did..These are comparable to infant sized prefolds..about 13 inches long, and 9 inches across the back wings
So I did my first infant 'session' a few days ago and it was soo much fun! I was sore and exhausted after but it was non-the-less awesomeness.
I took these for the couple I did the adoption portfolio for.... as you can see they got their baby and she came just in time for Christmas :D
Here is a sneak peak of some of the shots. I know the toes and wedding rings has been done over and over again but I love it and their rings are gorgeous.

The theme for this year was circus. Leading the parade were professionals but it was the young children and the townsfolk who stole the show.
My Mom and Dad call me 'Akhil Alagar'... Hmmm... I might like it :-)

Village Kuniya, Mainpat Block, Dist, Surguja, Chhattisgarh, INDIA. .Chrithopher Ghicha, four year, sits as her mother stands near their house in their village. To address malnutrition among adivasi population in Sarguja district in Chhattisgarh, the district administration partnered with the gram panchayat (local self-government) and State Health Systems Resource Centre (an autonomous body of the Department of Health and Family Welfare) to start community-managed crèches in the district for children aged 6-36 months to provide two hot cooked meals daily to the children as well as pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers of infants aged 0-6 months. Locally called fulwaris, the formation and functioning of community crèches rest on community participation. The community also decides the place for setting up the fulwari, which is usually part of a house of a resident, voluntarily given for this purpose. Fulwaris are manned and managed by a group of mothers whose children attend the crèche, supported by the mitanin, who plays a crucial role in bringing the group of mothers together.
