oil on canvas
The light reveals the uneveness of the painting--
the crude brush strokes and the scratches are the palpable evidence of the changes it went through from 1996-2008 ,as well as the abuses it endured.
I was looking at it this afternoon and i pondered as to whether or not continue improving this painting or finally give it a rest for good.

Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) appeared as a piano infant prodigy already with 10 years in public, gave his first concert in 1847 and started early to compose.
In 1853 Brahms sought Robert and Clara Schumann in Dusseldorf in order to obtain from them an assessment of his abilities as a composer.
This results in a lifelong deep friendship and Robert Schumann contributed greatly to his artistic development.
When Robert Schumann became gravely ill, Brahms moved to Clara Schumann to Dusseldorf, to support her and her seven children.
After Schumann's death in 1856, Brahms remained loyal caring contact with Clara Schumann, who had moved to Baden-Baden in 1862.
1865 also Brahms hired an apartment in Baden-Baden.
During his time in Baden-Baden, in addition to composing and long walks, Brahms also had several concert performances in Baden-Baden and Karlsruhe.
He used existing friendships and made new acquaintances with poets, painters and musicians.
In this way, Johannes Brahms - as well as Clara Schumann and Pauline Viardot - contributed to the fact that the health resort of Baden-Baden became a well-known cultural center.
Despite the regular stays in Baden-Baden, Vienna was his second home, where he works until his death in 1897. His legacy consists in an abundance masterly compositions.
The Johannes Brahms Monument is located at the eastern end of the Dahlia Garden in the Lichtentaler Allee in Baden-Baden - near to the Clara Schumann Monument.
Abstract from :
Song For The Asking
Here is my song for the asking
Ask me and I will play
So sweetly, I'll make you smile
This is my tune for the taking
Take it, don't turn away
I've been waiting all my life
Thinking it over, I've been sad
Thinking it over, I'd be more than glad
To change my ways for the asking
Ask me and I will play
All the love that I hold inside
Simon And Garfunkel
I got to babysit this little ball of adorableness yesterday, I can't believe she's almost 14 weeks already! We had a great day, barely any crying, and lots of smiles. She's going to be a GREAT big cousin and future BFF to our little one, I'm sure.
