Monumento a Blas Infante.
For many years, stuffed animals have lain at most of the graves in this small cemetery just outside a dusty, blown-away prairie ghost town. I've never been able to determine who puts them there or why. On my most recent visit I saw that the "old" animals have been replaced with newer ones, but not as many. Several graves are now barren of these little companions, but all the children's graves appeared to host one or two. This stone reads "Infant Son of Mr. & Mrs. Lester Snyder, March 19, 1912 - March 22, 1912."
Just a couple of short weeks ago i was photographing blossoms here and now, already, the apples are well on their way. This is an Artistic rendering of course.

Our exceptionally mild northland winter is giving way to spring, embryonic buds are beginning to appear on the trees and the modest mounds of snow from our singular significant snowfall are melting away leaving behind some nice reflecting pools around the yard in Proctor. 2/3 of a Bessemer set has been assembled by the shop forces and will enter the ore pool shortly. Things are looking up!

Who knew that the fringe on our rug was so fascinating? Amazing to watch that age of discovery ... and limitless curiosity.
Have a great weekend everyone. See you next week.
After May shower, the wild shy little bud, blushing today behind her veil, wild burst into a passionate flower tomorrow when I am away.
Took my Utata Thursday Walk on Friday and found myself in a rural cemetery just outside of a town that was the site of (and I'm not making this up) a 1934 bank robbery by Bonnie and Clyde.
This tiny turtle was in our drive way. (1 inch (25.4mm) in size) I stuck a small popular leaf just behind it for size comparison. I used an Olympus 50mm f/3.5 OM-System Zuiko MC Auto-Macro lens with a Fotodiox OM - EOS lens adapter.
This, of course, was also at the Pasadena Chalk Art Festival. It was also one of the first things I saw when I arrived. That's more shade from an umbrella at the top of the frame. Always good to keep the artists protected from the harsh sun.
