Alhóndiga: Se construyó como pósito (almacén de trigo) y casa de contratación que canalizaba la intensa actividad comercial desde mediados del siglo XVI, hasta que en 1719 se transformó en la cárcel del partido, siendo rey Felipe V. Resulta curioso el gran número de grabados realizados por los presos sobre la piedra en pareces y columnas. El patio es rectangular, y se encuentra abierto con dos y tres vanos de medio punto sobre gruesos pilares cilíndricos con capiteles toscanos. En la actualidad alberga la Casa de Cultura y Biblioteca Municipal.

How cute is this monkey and her infant? 🐒 At the top of the Rock of Gibraltar you will be able to see countless monkeys ruling as king of the rock! This troop or barrel of Barbary macaque monkeys is the only wild population of monkeys on the European continent. They are a thriving group of monkeys originally from the Atlas & Rif Mountains of Morocco. No one knows just how they were brought over from the African continent to the European continent, but most likely it was due to human activity.

The Ubud Monkey Forest is a nature reserve and temple complex in Ubud, Bali. It houses approximately 340 Crab-eating Macaque (Macaca fascicularis) monkeys (32 adult males, 19 male sub adult, 77 adult females, 122 juvenile and 54 infants). There are four groups of monkeys each occupying different territories in the park. The Sacred Monkey Forest is a popular tourist attraction in Ubud, and is often visited by over 10,000 tourists a month. The forest comprises approximately a tenth of a square kilometer (approximately 27 acres) and contains at least 115 different species of trees. The Monkey Forest contains the Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal temple as well as a "Holy Spring" bathing temple and another temple used for cremation ceremonies. The Monkey Forest is owned by the village of Padangtegal and village members serve on the Monkey Forest's governing council. The Padangtegal Wenara Wana Foundation manages the Monkey Forest and serves to maintain its sacred integrity and to promote the sacred site as a destination for visitors.

This tiny turtle was in our drive way. (1 inch (25.4mm) in size) I stuck a small popular leaf just behind it for size comparison. I used an Olympus 50mm f/3.5 OM-System Zuiko MC Auto-Macro lens with a Fotodiox OM - EOS lens adapter.
Took my Utata Thursday Walk on Friday and found myself in a rural cemetery just outside of a town that was the site of (and I'm not making this up) a 1934 bank robbery by Bonnie and Clyde.

El Bosque de La Herrería es un espacio natural de gran valor histórico y paisajístico situado junto al Real Monasterio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial (Madrid, España). De relieve ondulado con abundantes afloraciones graníticas, lo atraviesa el río Aulencia. Las especies arbóreas predominantes son el rebollo o roble melojo y el fresno, y conviven con arces de Montpellier, enebros, cerezos, sauces y castaños, y con el sotobosque compuesto por majuelos, endrinos, escaramujos, zarzas, retamas y genistas. Formaba parte de los terrenos adquiridos por el rey Felipe II para construir el Monasterio, un coto de caza y zonas de cultivo y pasto, cuyo perímetro era de 50 km. En el siglo XVIII se construyeron en los terrenos de La Herrería las Casitas del Príncipe y del Infante con sus respectivos parques y jardines. En 1870 el Estado vendió la mayoría de estos terrenos, pero no este bosque que se conserva adscrito al Patrimonio Nacional.
