The day after seeing the Paul McCartney concert in Fort Wayne, I headed for Indiana Dunes National Park right after lunch. On the way, I passed by this meadow and thought it worthy of a photograph. As you can see, it was threatening rain (no surprise THIS spring in the Midwest), which did not bode well for my encounter with Lake Michigan. I ended up tarrying here for an hour as I took a series of self-shots where some woods to the left ended at the meadow. I was expecting the rain to put a literal damper on this endeavor, but I received only a brief sprinkle and the sun was trying to find a path through the clouds. By the time I reached the park, it was sunshine all 'round.

Indiana Eastern's pair of ex Algers Winslow & Western SD9's # 205 and # 206 throttle up as they leave Richmond, IN with a empty coal train. Sadly Richmond Power & Light no longer gets trains , and the AWW SD9's are back up's to a ex NS GP38-2.
The Indiana Northeastern crew has split the power of their southbound train so the lead unit can pull the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society cars out of the stub track at Pleasant Lake, IN.

Indiana State Police Post 52 Dodge Charger Pursuit slick top. As of now, the majority of CVPIs and 1st generation Chargers have been taken off the road, while these are the majority of their fleet.
My brother Doug and I visited northeast Indiana for the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival in Auburn. While traveling through the small town of Howe just south of the Michigan border on September 1, 2016 I spotted this beautiful home, the Beecher House with its wrought iron fence and gate. Recently a bed and breakfast, the home is now up for sale. If only I had the money!
