On an errand to Fittleworth, so I chose to pause for a photo at the old bridge at Stopham.
Stopham Bridge is said to be the finest medieval bridge in Sussex. It was built in 1423 to replace an earlier (1309) wooden bridge across the River Arun. The central arch was raised in 1822 to allow masted ships access to the Wey and Arun canal further upriver. A replacement road bridge was built in the 1980s to take away heavy traffic.

Morphos include some of the largest butterflies in the American tropics. This species is found from Colombia to Paraguay. It is a butterfly of forest canopies, forest clearings, and stream edges. The cryptic underside makesMorphos almost invisible when they are at rest; contrasting with the striking appearance of the upper wing surface. The sap of wounded trees and vines are a favourite of these butterflies.
Molson is a ghost town in Okanogan County, Washington, United States. The population was 19 at the 2000 census. The ghost town is also an open-air museum known as Old Molson Ghost Town that includes pioneer buildings, farm machinery, mining equipment and other historic artifacts. It is open seasonally. The Molson Schoolhouse Museum is a separate museum located in a historic schoolhouse building. Displays include hand tools, household artifacts and photographs. Museum website: molsonmuseums.org
Molson was founded in 1900 by promoter George B. Meacham, and investor John W. Molson (of the Molson beer brewing family). The mining town's population boomed to 300 that year, and the town had a newspaper, general stores, an attorney, doctor, saloon and hotel. By 1901, as the mining was failing, the population fell to 13 people.
When news of a railroad being built in Molson arrived in 1905, the population rose again. J.H. McDonald filed for a homestead including much of the town of Molson. In 1909 McDonald enforced his homestead by publishing a notice that everyone on the property was required to depart. Citizens then founded New Molson, ½ mile north of the site of Old Molson.
This is also possibly the location of Molson, Okanogan County, Washington that was incorporated on February 13, 1920. It was then disincorporated on 6 October 1921 by order of the Washington State Supreme Court, as the incorporation was declared invalid. The Molson post office was established July 14, 1900, with Walter F. Schuyler as first postmaster. The post office was discontinued August 11, 1967, with mail to Oroville.

The monument includes a multi-span road bridge crossing the river Severn situated at the western end of the village of Atcham. It is built of grey sandstone ashlar and is approximately 115m in length and 6m wide, humped-back with 7 graded round arches with banded rusticated soffits and voussoirs, triple keystones consisting of fluted outer stones flanking a central stone with vermiculated rustication, and separated by breakwaters with concave caps. The outer pedestrian arches have banded rusticated surrounds and keystones with vermiculated rustication. Coped parapets ramp up to central pedimented datestones and are buttressed by small carved scrolls at the approaches where the lower parapets curve out to pyramidal end-piers. There is evidence of former railings flanking the central parapet datestones. A bypass bridge was built immediately to the north in 1929 and Atcham Bridge (old) was closed to traffic. According to Eyton, there is a record of a bridge at Atcham as early as the C13th and timber piles of this bridge may have been discovered during the construction of the new bridge. However, an alternative location may be just north of St. Eata’s church where a medieval bridge abutment was identified. In 1550 Sir Rowland Hill built a stone bridge with 18 arches which was replaced by the present bridge which dates from 1769-71 and designed by John Gwynne.

The Road Not Taken
By Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Schoenthal Monastery, first mentioned in 1145, includes one of the oldest churches in Switzerland. It is considered a showpiece of Romanesque architecture. Its western façade features ashlar masonry, a portal with a depiction of a lamb carrying a cross, and an arch supported by a lion baring its teeth on one side, and by a man on the other. The inscription on the arch reads: HIC EST RODO.
Of the murals on the inside of the church, a depiction of St. Christopher has been preserved above the gateway to the cloister dating from about 1310/20. Behind the eastern façade, fragments can be seen of an angel swinging a censer; these date from around 1430. The bell in the steeple was cast in Aarau in the 15th century. The deconsecrated monastery was used for various commercial purposes over a period of 500 years. As of 1986, the new owner had extensive renovations carried out in collaboration with the canton’s departments of archaeology and the preservation of historical monuments. The latter recommended using the traditional plaster made of slaked lime.

Inverhuron is a community located in Bruce County within the Municipality of Kincardine in the Canadian province of Ontario. The community includes approximately 200 permanent residents and 400 seasonal cottagers. Inverhuron is located on the shore of Lake Huron, at the west end of County Road 15, just west of Highway 21 and the town of Tiverton. The village is located about halfway between Port Elgin and the town of Kincardine.
Inverhuron was first settled in the early 1840s. In 1851 Superintendent of Schools of Bruce County, William Gunn opened a general store and post office. Gunn quickly followed with a school and library. By the end of the decade Inverhuron boasted lime kilns, saw and grist mills, a quarry, numerous tradesmen including carpenters, and a blacksmith shop. During this time, Inverhuron had a peak population of around 500 people. A major shipping centre with three large grain warehouses was established in the 1870s.
Inverhuron's days of success came to an abrupt stop on April 13, 1882 when fire struck the grain warehouses and the pier. The community experienced a devastating financial loss and many of the businesses shut down or relocated elsewhere. Another fire struck the community again in 1887. After the second fire, Inverhuron was finished financially and physically.
- Inverhuron is the site of Bruce Power, the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station, the largest nuclear power facility in the world.
- Ontario's first commercial wind farm, called "Huron Wind" is located on the outskirts of Inverhuron. The wind farm consists of 5 wind turbines.
- from "Lovell's Gazetteer of the Dominion of Canada (1873)" - INVERHURON, a post village in Bruce County, Ontario, on Lake Huron, 23 miles from Southampton, it contains several saw and grist mills, 1 store and 2 hotels, and has a large grain trade. The Goderich and Saugeen steamers call here. The population in 1873 was 150.
- from "Lovell's Gazetteer of the Dominion of Canada (1908)" - INVERHURON, a post village in Bruce County, Ontario, on Lake Huron, 23 miles from Southampton, 9 miles from Kincardine, on the G.T.R. It contains 1 saw mill and 1 store. The population in 1908 was 75.
The Post Office at Inverhuron opened - 1 January 1854 and closed - 1 August 1873. It reopened - 1 July 1874 and closed - 30 December 1911. It reopened again as a summer office - 22 July 1931 and closed permanently - 1 April 1986.

Includes the washing machine (needs 2 AA batteries), laundry basket, 2 laundry detergent (1 of it is a softener), 2 hangers and a clothes rail. I'm not too fussed about the clothes rail and the miniature bottles aren't great but I will still keep them together in that container. The older version has 3 buttons including a stop button. It makes a beep for every function and when the drums stop spinning. Very impressive drum as well and one button to wash (goes one way) and another button to dry (goes the other way). The only thing I don't like is how huge and bulky it is compared to other Licca playsets. This is probably closer to 1:6 scale and suitable for taller dolls like Barbie
From a wander around the quaint thatched cottages of Amberley. There's a similarly traditional tea room there too.

Budapest is the capital and most populous city of Hungary. It is the tenth-largest city in the European Union by population within city limits and the second-largest city on the river Danube. The estimated population of the city in 2025 is 1,782,240. This includes the city's population and surrounding suburban areas, over a land area of about 525 square kilometres (203 square miles). Budapest, which is both a city and municipality, forms the centre of the Budapest metropolitan area, which has an area of 7,626 square kilometres (2,944 square miles) and a population of 3,019,479. It is a primate city, constituting 33% of the population of Hungary.
The history of Budapest began when an early Celtic settlement transformed into the Roman town of Aquincum, the capital of Lower Pannonia. The Hungarians arrived in the territory in the late 9th century, but the area was pillaged by the Mongols in 1241–42. Re-established Buda became one of the centres of Renaissance humanist culture by the 15th century. The Battle of Mohács, in 1526, was followed by nearly 150 years of Ottoman rule. After the reconquest of Buda in 1686, the region entered a new age of prosperity, with Pest-Buda becoming a global city after the unification of Buda, Óbuda and Pest on 17 November 1873, with the name 'Budapest' given to the new capital. Budapest also became the co-capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, a great power that dissolved in 1918, following World War I. The city was the focal point of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 and the Battle of Budapest in 1945, as well as the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.
Budapest is a global city with strengths in commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment. Budapest is Hungary's financial centre. Budapest hosts the headquarters of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, the European Police College and the first foreign office of the China Investment Promotion Agency. Over 40 colleges and universities are located in Budapest, including Eötvös Loránd University, Corvinus University, Semmelweis University, University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Opened in 1896, the city's subway system, the Budapest Metro, serves 1.27 million, while the Budapest Tram Network serves 1.08 million passengers daily.
The central area of Budapest along the Danube is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has several notable monuments of classical architecture, including the Hungarian Parliament and the Buda Castle. The city also has around 80 geothermal springs, the largest thermal water cave system, second largest synagogue, and third largest Parliament building in the world. Budapest attracts around 12 million international tourists per year, making it a highly popular destination in Europe.

The BMW F650 is a family of single-cylinder motorcycles that was produced by BMW Motorrad beginning in 1993. Models include the F650ST Strada, F650 Funduro, F650CS Scarver, F650GS, F650GS Dakar and most-recently, the G650GS and G650GS Sertao. They were the first single-cylinder motorcycles from BMW since the R27, and, with the exception of the F650CS, which was belt-driven, were the first chain driven motorcycles from BMW.
In late 2008, BMW relaunched the original single-cylinder F650GS under the new name G650GS in the United States, South America, Greece and Australia. The new G650GS is essentially the 2007 single-cylinder F650GS brought back into production with some minor modifications and with the engine assembled by Loncin in China instead of Rotax in Austria, but still using parts manufactured by Rotax in Europe. The finished engines are shipped back to BMW in Germany where the bikes are assembled. G650GS models with the Chinese-assembled engines can be easily identified as the engines are painted black while in the earlier European-assembled engines were finished in silver. For a short period prior to discontinuation of the bike in 2007 the engines were assembled by Kymco in Taiwan.
The G650GS received some upgrades over the F650GS of 2007: the engine now produces 3 additional horsepower (now 53 hp) and received a stronger 400 watt alternator. In the United States and Australia, ABS and heated grips are now standard equipment instead of additional cost options.

AI responses may include mistakes (DUH!).
The premise "Goya borrowed Marcel Duchamp's iPhone 17" is impossible because the individuals and technology existed centuries apart. The statement is a nonsensical mix of historical figures and modern technology.
Here's a breakdown of the anachronisms:
Francisco Goya: The Spanish painter and printmaker lived from 1746 to 1828.
Marcel Duchamp: The French-American artist and forefather of conceptual art lived from 1887 to 1968.
iPhone 17: A smartphone from Apple that was released in September 2025.
Goya died 59 years before Duchamp was born, and Duchamp died 57 years before the iPhone 17 was released.
Aside: It should be noted that 59 is a prime number, jus' sayin'.
AI responses may include mistakes (Double Duh!).
Surrealist interpretation
The statement can be read as a surrealist or conceptual art piece in itself, similar to the work of Duchamp.
Duchamp and the "readymade": Duchamp famously challenged traditional art with his "readymade" works, elevating ordinary objects like a urinal or a bottle rack to the status of art simply by choosing them and putting them on display. The phrase "borrowed Marcel Duchamp's iPhone 17" in this context is a modern, absurd readymade, blending technology with art history to create a nonsensical juxtaposition.
Goya and modernity: The pairing of Goya, a painter who documented the horrors of his time, with a 21st-century smartphone also creates a jarring and provocative image. It forces the viewer to imagine how an 18th-century artist might have engaged with modern technology, subverting historical expectations.
Infrathin as the conceptual link: The word "infrathin" is the conceptual glue holding the absurd premise together. It is the imperceptible, undefinable space or interval that separates these disparate elements in a way that suggests a new, conceptual meaning. The joke lies in the failure of language to describe the intangible connection, which was Duchamp's entire point with the term.
Santa Fe EMD CF7 locomotive # 2649, rebuilt from EMD F7 locomotive # 262C, includes dynamic brakes on the long hood of wrecked GP7B locomotive # 2788A, is seen leading a four unit set of freight designated F7's, while hauling a manifest freight train at an unknown location, 1970. Locomotive # 2649 was the only CF7 conversion locomotive to include dynamic brakes, because the other 232 converted CF7 locomotives had new Cleburne Shop built long hoods installed. These converted CF7 locomotives were used for many years after the covered wagons vanished. Many other roads including Amtrak wound up with some ex-Santa Fe CF7's. The location appears like it may be entrance or exit tracks at a railroad yard. Photo courtesy of Sylvain Assez's railroad photo collection. Sylvain is an active French railway locomotive engineer.

The London Ambulance Service historic collection includes a number of classic ambulances available for hire at events, and for film and television work. The ambulances have been maintained in their original condition and still have all of the equipment used from when they were in service.
Designed and built by the coachbuilder Wadham Stringer in Waterlooville, Hampshire, this vehicle was first registered with London Ambulance Service (LAS) on 19th August 1967. This type was brought in to replace the Morris LD Wandsworth, a design unique to the capital and produced in the London County Council’s workshops between 1958 and 1966.
The London Ambulance Service operated about 215 of these vehicles between 1965 and 1978.
Unlike its predecessor, the Wandsworth, they also served in different ambulance services across the UK. Although it used the same Morris LD chassis it was a little more refined with fully opening windows, better controls and a connecting door between the driver’s cab at the front and the patient’s compartment at the rear.
One of the major improvements was the use of a removable ‘trolley bed’ type stretcher on wheels. Previously all patients had to be carried on either a chair or a stretcher made of wooden poles and canvas. Variations of the wheeled trolley bed pioneered on the Morris Wadham have become a standard feature on modern ambulances.
As well as the traditional bell, two tone horns were fitted as standard on this model. The bell was retained in case the ambulance had to respond to an emergency call in the City of London where the use of two tone sirens was forbidden at the time.
Unusually, this was one of only six Wadham Stringer ambulances to be built with a single rear door rather than the standard twin doors.

OH AND might not fit guys unless theyre really girly
This weekend (I include Fridays into the weekend, cause I am a student being not very busy on fridays) I want to upload some other pictures - to get more diversity on one hand but also to show some recent works.
Last weekend (friday and saturday) I met with Ivo (some of u will know him, the good ol' Crazy Ivory) and we went to some old buildings again. While on friday night (where we took some shots near Berlin Alexanderplatz) my battery lasted, it went flat on Saturday and I noticed soon enough that my emergency battery was just as flat at the other one. My photography day finished early :-)
The feeling of the "fernweh" or wanderlust or whatever is even enhanced because I am regularly posting pictures from Japan and now, after being home again for 2 months, I really want to go back.
What I wanted to show here is a guy caught in the temperatures of the cold german october. He wears black clothes and just stares at the picture of a sunny beach. His face is unimportant, because the viewer should guess oneself what she/he would make. His pose is emotionless. He has the desire to travel and go away, but is deep in thoughts.

Ralph Rugoff has declared: «May You Live in Interesting Times will no doubt include artworks that reflect upon precarious aspects of existence today, including different threats to key traditions, institutions and relationships of the “post-war order.” But let us acknowledge at the outset that art does not exercise its forces in the domain of politics. Art cannot stem the rise of nationalist movements and authoritarian governments in different parts of the world, for instance, nor can it alleviate the tragic fate of displaced peoples across the globe (whose numbers now represent almost one percent of the world’s entire population).»
