Inca Trail Description:

Visitors come from all parts of the world to Peru, not only to see Machu Picchu but to walk the Inca Trail, the most famous hike in South America. They come to see the ruins and the scenery which makes this trail so famous. The total distance of the Inca trail is approximately 43 kilometres, departing from the place known as Kilometre 88. To begin the trip, one crosses the narrow bridge at Kusicancha, and afterwards heads towards the left hand side of a forest of Eucalyptus trees. Camping on this night is either in Wayllabamba or Llullucha. The second day is more difficult, as you have to climb to 4200 metres at the Pass of Warmiwañusqa (Dead Woman’s pass). The third day is the longest, but also the most interesting for many people as you can visit impressive ruins like Runkuracay and Sayaqmarca. Camping is either in Phuyupatamarca or Wiñayhuayna. On the final day many groups leave early to see the sun rise over Machu Picchu from the Inti Punku (sun gate). The remainder of the day is spent exploring this fabulous ancient city.

View On Black cos medium doesn't do it justice

A collection of Inca Tern shots taken at Bristol Zoo. I can never get bored of these guys, its technically very demanding due to the low contrast of the black bodies on the dark water, and the close proximity of a very busy background to confuse AF. I especially like their white mustache and orange beak, in combination with the fast flying makes a kind of New Romantic Top Gun...

Very much happy with the 7D now, quit using the zone modes, and went back to good old fashion center point, and it did not disappoint. Autofocus is a ton better than the 5D mk1 as you would expect, ISO performance is a little lower also as you would expect. The areas that really surprised me though were in Dynamic range and colour, you can really push the colour alot harder in post on the 7D without blowing individual channels. Which is very nice. The other shock that I received was the quality of the noise, although its higher than the 5D, its very nice, never the banding and very random, giving the shots a very filmic look on paper.

Never ceasing to be amazed by the sharpness of the 70-200 2.8 non IS, I definitely do not regret selling my 300mm F4 to cover the cost of the 7D.

The last time I saw an Inca Tern it was off the coast of Peru on the Guano Islands , with a stormy sea. (www.flickr.com/photos/watchman/2507942115)

These are relatively new to Martin Mere (WWT) and not a rock or large wave to be seen. Significantly greyer than the black plumage I saw in the wild.

DESCRIPTION

The four-day Inca Trail trek will reward you with a stunning combination of the Cusco’s Incan sites, mountainscapes and cloud forests. Because we run our own treks, we can ensure the fair treatment of our porters and the quality of food and equipment so that you’re free to enjoy the beauty of the region.

The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is physically challenging but worthwhile, and the excursion is within the ability of most reasonably fit.

It is a 45-km (30 miles) hike, with 3 high passes to be crossed, one of which reaches an elevation of 4200m (13776 ft). The inca trail is often steep, and it may rain even during the dry season. The temperatures at night may fall below zero, so it is important to come prepared.

INCA TRAIL to Machu Picchu is considered as the most famous trekking route in South America, due to the different elements that offers to the visitor. It begins at the Km 82 of the railway, towards La Convencion Valley.

INCA TRAIL

The natural scenery is impressive, with a remarkable balance between nature and the Inca architectonic work. The presence of the Vilcabamba mountain range (with snow-capped peaks 6.000mts. height and over, such as the Salkantay and Humantay, among others) along with spectacular forests and valleys, create fantasy images where dawns and dusks provide spectacles of greatness and mystery.

In 2003 Transeste, along with several other operators, took on a sub-contract arrangement to supply coaches to Ultramar. Transeste was the biggest participant, supplying 6 coaches, and one more in 2004. Their Transeste ownership was well hidden; all were MAN 18.310 with Andecar Viana bodies.
