Inca Trail, Day 2, Dead Womans Pass, Today we climbed 1200 meters, walked 9km and it took me 8 hours! I cannot tell you how much walking up those steps hurt!

First night on the Inca Trail at Wayllabamba (Quechua for “grassy plain) at 3,000 m / 9,840ft, the last Inca community on the trail.

 

The campsite is also an active farming community, we share the grassy space with horses, cows, pigs, chickens, dogs, and roosters which started crowing many times from 4 am.
