skotjay: @hopelessclassicist It is, indeed. It's too hot down there to wear one. I've always loved them, but there's only about two weeks out of the year that's cool enough.

5/9/13: My dad is 80 years old. He is both a prostate cancer and quadruple bypass survivor. I am on vacation in Maui with my parents, gobbling up every moment with them. My dad and I have been taking early morning beach walks and I have been carrying my iPhone with me as we walk.
When I photographed my dad walking ahead of me, I was pretty shocked at how sturdy my old man's legs still are ;) but it is understandable because he has been an avid golfer for almost fifty years.
I am SO blessed to have been given this time with my parents.

Someone in San Francisco is stealing the covers from sidewalk drains and then painting them gold to make a statement about gentrification. Look for a bond measure to fix a sewage system filled with cruft.

Happy Mother's Day to all those women who have, at one time or another, at one point in time, been a mother, a step mother, a foster mother or the role model for a child.
I hate having my photo taken or even posted on the web (that's why I am behind a lens) but for mother's day and my photo a day, I thought it appropriate. Here I am with my daughter and my granddaughter on Mother's Day taken with the IPhone and my favorite app hipstamatic. I have also added a bit in aviary.
