The fire at 18 Owens Landing Court was reported at 2:34 a.m. on Sunday, April 1.
Because the condominium was about 55 feet from the Susquehanna River, fire boats were dispatched; officials credited firefighters from the Susquehanna Hose Company and Charlestown Fire Company who battled the blaze from the water with limiting the damage to the three buildings surrounding the one that was engulfed by flames.
"Without their response to this incident, a much [higher] property loss would have been most probable and in turn could have put many more lives at risk," the fire marshal said in a statement.

On March 9, LGBTQ employees and allies who work for Pixar had sent a joint statement to the leadership at Walt Disney. They asserted that Disney executives removed “overtly gay affection” in movies made by the animation company. This protest followed the larger protest by employees who were extremely annoyed with their bosses for not taking action against the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill passed in Florida. Variety reports that there has been at least one step taken forward as a source close to the production of “Lightyear” which is Pixar’s next feature film said that a kiss between two characters, both of whom are women, had been earlier cut. Now, the scene has been restored.The movie features Buzz Lightyear and is a spinoff of Toy Story. The new version portrays a more realistic depiction of how Buzz Lightyear is trained. Chris Evans voices the role of Lightyear. The film shows how he protects the universe from villain Emperor Zurg. Employees of Pixar Animation had objected to the censorship of a scene where Hawthorne, voiced by Uzo Aduba, kisses her partner, who belongs to the sex as her. However, the scene has reportedly being added back before the scheduled release on June 17, 2022 in theaters near you.
An employee said that there was no debate about the portrayal of a same sex relationship in the film. What upset employees was the removal of the kiss scene as it indicated intimacy between two partners of the same sex.

KONICA MINOLTA DYNAX 5D
After a few years of inaction, I installed a new Li-ion NP-400 battery in my 2005 Konica Minolta DSLR Dynax 5D to replace the dead original one, and I did a small series of pictures with the two KM zoom lenses to re-evaluate the small Sony 6 MP CCD (still not a CMOS) sensor and optics.
The KM Dynax 5D was the latest DSLR body released by Konica Minolta before to be sold to SONY Corp.

I got active and saw the Climate Rally with parents joining school children taking time off to protest inaction on climate change. This is the union crowds, passing through Hyde Park North, The main Sydney rally was in The Domain at noon.

From experience I say this is good example of compliance. The message in group situations like this is don't get involved!, I'm panicking, I'm scared, what can I do? - resulting in inaction instead of action. By the time they react it's too late.
Humans can be unreliable in terrible situations requiring some kind of measured response when confronted with emergency situations. They do one of three things - fight, flight or freeze. Most reacting to their base level of training - that is, freeze. I've seen it first hand - they either freeze or move away, eyes averted. It still haunts me today. You can see the people who are trained. They are the ones reacting and running forward towards the trouble.
Reaction, doing something requires you to cast aside compliance and do what needs to be done regardless of the consequences, social or otherwise cf: "Stockdale Paradox"

CHICAGO – December 12, 2012. Governor Pat Quinn today was joined by Illinois college students to discuss how inaction on pension reform is threatening Monetary Award Program (MAP) college scholarships and access to higher education in Illinois. One after one, the students made clear how access to higher education changed their lives and prepared them for a job and career. Today’s event is part of the governor’s ongoing effort to educate and activate the people of Illinois to push for pension reform as he continues to work with legislators on the issue. MAP grants are need-based college scholarships that provide students with merit who are in need across Illinois with the opportunity to attend a higher education institution. These grants help cover tuition and fee costs at approved universities and colleges in Illinois, and do not need to be repaid by the student. 18,000 students lost their MAP grant scholarships this year because of budget reductions to education. Currently, only half of eligible MAP grant applicants are able to receive the aid they need to attend college.

These photos were taken of the Mains Blanches/White Hands protest on the 19th of April 2008 at the Hôtel-de-Ville (Town Hall) in Paris, France - to denounce the inaction and corruption of those in power & in support of the hostages held in Colombia.
July 2008 saw the rescue of Ingrid Betancourt and 14 other political hostages by the Colombian Army from the FARC guerrilla forces. Naturally, this was wonderful news to those fighting for the release of all the hostages held in Colombia, but there remain close to 2000 people being held in that country.
I would like to believe that the actions of the ordinary citizens who fought to bring the hostages' plight to the eyes of the world; made a difference and encouraged those in positions of real power to take action. Of course, more needs to be done to bring a final and positive resolution to the crisis in Colombia.
I would like to strongly encourage all those who believe in humanitarian and human rights issues (whichever they may be) to take personal action. Of course each individual has varying amounts of time and effort to afford, yet each act counts and is vital. The day I am writing this is the 19th of January 2009 and is Martin Luther King Day in the U.S. In this world the political, financial and communitarian interests of many of those who hold real power to bring change are counter to the lives of the weakest and the oppressed in our societies - those who want to bring real change need to act together today for a better and more just world. Tomorrow shall always be too late....

We had our road resurfaced this weekend.
We all had to park somewhere else, and they never turned up on the Friday. They started on the satruday but couldn;t finish on the Sunday because it rained.
