Nikon Micro-Nikkor-P / 1:3.5 / 55 mm
(15/366) About 7 years ago whilst walking in the local forestry we found a discarded bag of 25 bare root saplings, obviously surplus to Coillte's requirements. They were coming into leaf & it seemed a shame to leave them to die in the bag so we brought them home & planted them as a hedge along one boundary of our garden. They were Alder trees, they all took & are now about 15ft tall producing cones & catkins. Just today a lone male Redpoll was feeding on the cones, hopefully he'll bring his friends.

Anouk or Alex (Stranger 29)
May I know your name and can I put the photo on the internet? I talked about the 100strangers project. “What's my name? Anouk, or maybe….. yes, do Anouk, but Alex can too”. I just call her Anouk. I met her when she came crawling out of the bushes. Completely enthusiastic about the mushrooms that are there. She knows the place where the fly agarics come back every year in the fall. This year the circle with mushrooms has grown again. I saw that she had taken some pictures there and so we started talking. It was a surprise to me that such beautiful fly agarics grow in that place. Of course I also went to photograph the mushrooms after I took a picture of Anouk.
This is the 29th photo from my 3rd round of the 100strangers project.
