Some gold leaf in a bottle from our trip to Sovereign Hill, Ballarat last year. The bottle is 3" (76 mm) x 3/4" (20 mm).

Not a lot of time to prepare this week so this was pulled together very quickly!

This was shot for Macro Mondays "In a bottle" theme. This is just after a water drop lands in a partially filled, small flattened rectangular bottle. It was a cologne bottle that is maybe 20mm deep. Backlit with a radio triggered flash.

Due to restrictions on my movement, caused by my injured arm, I was unable to satisfactorily take the majority of shots intended for this theme today. I have had to fall back on a very simple and much easier shot of this fridge magnet, brought back from our recent trip to Malta.

It is very common for small bottles of sand to be sold as tourist momentos of holiday spots and over the years we have bought quite a few. The majority are given away but this one was retained due to it being a magnet and appears here due to its small size!

My nephew and I love searching for feathers when we go out walking - it's like finding treasure. We both have quite a collection. This one is absolutely tiny, and I think it dropped off a rosella. We have the most beautiful, brightly coloured birds here in Australia. Each time I see one I haven't come across before, it gets a tick in my bird book.

It was a bit of a struggle to make the shell stick to the is inside of the little bottle. My fingers were too big and my tweezers too narrow so the shell got stuck in the tweezers when I pressed it down!
