I ride past this field everyday when I ride my bike and I have been watching it get more intense in color...... this is the peek I believe!

24:52 - Make a portrait where the primary goal is to engineer intimacy from a situation that is fundamentally artificial.

I was struggling with the theme for this week and I was going to sit it out but then I asked Monique for some ideas. She gave me the idea of using dandelions (which my husband had just mowed down!). I planted these English Daisies in the garden and took this shot. When I saw it on screen I noticed that the flowers were intertwined naturally together, so bingo I had my shot! Thanks for the inspiration Monique.

In October, Rocky Mountain Minifigs released a “Woodland Creatures” line of eight custom minifigs. I recently bought two of them - on the left, an Abbey Mouse and on the right, a Vermin Wildcat Warlord. I have vague plans to work them into a Forestmen or Wolfpack scene.

The Archie 100 caption says it all.

In the background we have already seen the portrait for former Prime Minister Paul Keating by Bryan Westwood. Next to it is the portrait of a young Sydney MP, John Howard, who was to succeed Keating as PM from 1996 to 2007. The suburban setting is quite deliberate, as Howard always made an appeal to middle classes. The founder of the Liberal Party, Sir Robert Menzies, once called them “the forgotten people”, and at the turn of the century they became “Howard’s battlers”. This work by Josonia Palaitis in 1979 has all the qualities of photo-realism. www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/artboards/archie-100/in-polite-...

Behind the ladies in polite conversation (one perfectly colour-coordinated with the Howard painting) is William Pidgeon’s 1961 portrait of Australian Chief Rabbi Dr Israel Porush (1907–91). The rabbi was born in Jerusalem and sent to Germany for further education in his Orthodox Judaism and also mathematics. When you think about it the transcendental nature of pure mathematics has a surprising ally in a transcendental faith. But by 1934 it became too dangerous to remain. Hitler had assumed dictatorial control of the country, and so he moved to London. In 1940 he was appointed to Sydney’s Great Synagogue.

frame the important things in your life. I truly believe in the importance of prioritising things. So many things can come up that cloud over the good and take away from what is important. Make yourself a list of what you dreams/goals are and see what steps are needed to achieve them. It's only these that should be on your mind. The parts of life that are temporary are not worth being on your mind, I've often found that the negative things in my life are in fact temporary anyway, keep positive.

Filling up at a station in Cheshire a couple of years back and I witnessed these three bubble cars also making a pit stop.

This particular model was a Heinkel design, but they were licence built by Trojan between 1960 and 1966 Prior to this, some were built in Dundalk, but the licence was apparently withdrawn due to poor quality.

Note that the green one is in fact left hand drive so presumably built in West Germany between 1956 and 1958.

So in response to my Black Lantern Photoshoot, I went right along and photographed my UG Minifigure's White Lantern Batman, along side my Onlinesailin Kyle (with a different head) and Christo's WL Flash (with a different head) :)

Again, not a whole lot to say about this one either, other than it all stemmed from that Black Lantern Superman photoshoot and turned into a project I had no plans to take seriously :P

Anyway, Patreon has all the info you could ever want about this photoshoot, like the lighting and photography set-up (to name a few things)! :)

Oh I almost forgot! I joined brickly last weekend! The guys over there promoted me to an Official Brickly Artist and I feel inclined to tell you all about it!

If anyone's interested, it's a free app that's just all Lego content! (It's a little like Instagram/Tumblr but just for Lego!) itunes.apple.com/us/app/brickly-capture-everything-in-lif...

I'm over there @andrewcookston; I pretty much just plan to share the same posts from here, over there but feel free to follow me :)

But yeah, not much to say about the White Lanterns so I'm out!

See you dudes next week or something!

TRAPPED IN LONELINESS

The second of my back-to-back shoot last weekend. I was pretty excited to shoot this one because the forecast was pretty promising that afternoon but the sunset didn't live up to my expectations.

Will definitely do a come back trip as soon as possible.

you could easily say school plays with your sense of reality. but what if you're the one playing with what's real in school?

oh library, you are so good to me. going back in time a bit because this is one of TWO finals week shots i forgot about until i started sorting my pictures folders. so what better way to start 2011 than by fixing that mistake?

I don't talk to flowers, they talk to me and I gladly listen with my eyes!

Shimmering in silky tones I discovered these, a mix if white and pink I had NEVER seen before!

The petals look 'waxy' but feel silky soft!

The peony was originally introduced as medicine.

In fact, its ancient Japanese name "Ebisugusuri" literally means ‘medicine from China’.

However, due to its beautiful and now mostly double blooms, in time, many decorative varieties were developed. In Japanese society, it was seen both as a medicine and a source of beauty.

THANKS for ALL your comments and visits, so appreciated.

Have a wonderful day, filled with love and beauty, M, (*_*)

In China the New Year is not calculated as the shortest day as in the Western Calendar. The Chinese calendar works on the lunar cycle. Celebrations traditionally run from the evening preceding the first day, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first calendar month. The first day of the New Year falls on the new moon between the 21st of January and 20th of February. In 2018, the first day of the Lunar New Year was on Friday, 16 February, initiating the year of the Dog.

The moor of Lostmarc’h on the Crozon Peninsula provides some breathtaking landscapes and seascapes. When I took this photo, it was a very dark, damp and desolate end of afternoon in December, and I didn't have much hope as I walked the moor towards the lone standing stone that remains of the alignment that once stood there, millennia ago.

I was quite alone, as the weather was truly miserable, but suddenly, a miraculous swath of sunlight cut through the thick clouds and shone over the ocean in the bay, providing a very nice background. I quickly set up an off–camera cobra flash on the ground to provide some fill–in light on the stone face, and took the shot.

Thirty seconds thereafter, as on a well–set timer, the clouds closed in again and the light was gone. It began to rain (again), and I could but walk back to the car.

This is a recent black-and-white interpretation of the original photo. I will also, some day, upload the color one taken in December 2018.

A lucky accident with my Olympus u1030SW. My cousin jumped off the paddle boat right as I was allowing myself to sink into the depths, clicking the shutter as I went. Didn't even know it existed until later that evening.

In July-August 1958, I was a participant in a Youth Exchange visit to Rendsburg in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

Our group enjoyed a day trip to Hamburg which included: a boat trip around the busy docks and a coach tour to the zoo and airport.

Of these I found the dock visit to be the most impressive and awe inspiring, specially as we came up close to these rows of 'towering giants' moored in the numerous channels.

From the boat we could see bombed 'U-Boat' pens amidst other war-time marine wreckage still awaiting removal.

Our dock visit also included walking through the St. Pauli Elb Tunnel.

Hoyas

In the world of succulents, the hundreds of species and cultivars of the hoya genus stand out. They are in the milkweed family, second only to orchids in the diversity of their flower forms and shapes.

Lowland tropicals, hoyas are native to Southeast Asia, densely vining beneath the canopy in the rain forests of New Guinea. Cultivated by enthusiasts for hundreds of years, some of the most exotic hoyas come from the wilds of the Philippines. And yet you will find avid hoya collectors as far off as Sweden.
