This photo turned out to be a total pain to take - I could only find one complete pair of my old Barbie shoes (luckily bought these pairs from the local secondhand toy shop), the dolls kept falling over, the desk lamp I was using for light fell on the floor so the bulb broke, and my knees hurt from trying to get in the right position. Moan over.
I intended to just have the shoes in a row, but thought the legs looked better. I used polaroid effect and added a slight matte border using Picnik.

A group of snowy egrets and an American avocet hunting on the mudflats as the tide goes out. I took a few interesting frames of this (see below, and likely in a future post), but my favorite is probably the one above, as everything lined up pretty nicely. Taken at the Albany Mudflats/Eastshore State Park and cropped from a horizontal frame.
Me first thing this morning, in my nightdress and dressing gown and wig but otherwise unadorned. The start of my third day in a row dressed and sadly the last of this run. But of course I'll be back.

Revisiting the 2017 "Operation: Desert Storm" location for the third year in a row. Upon my nightly arrival in Phoenix this year, the region had experienced a drought in terms of monsoon weather, and the skies were clear when I took this shot.

pointybunny tagged me for the 16 Things You Don't Know About Me and I may never forgive her. Don't know how interesting this will be, but I'll give it a shot.
1. I am a hyper-insomniac - I've never slept much throughout my life. It's not unusual to go two or three days in a row without sleep. I've went as far as five. My brain never shuts off
2. I have Attention Deficit Disorder - which no doubt adds to my insomnia. Imagine the cartoon character Tasmanian Devil; that's what the inside of my mind is like. And I see it as a blessing not a disorder
3. I'm proud that I have never had to throw a punch
4. I watch at least five movies a week - Netflix should give me stock in their company
5. I've had 3 back surgeries - I can't take pain killers, so I'll be in pain the rest of my life. I don't dwell on it. There are millions of people that suffer more than I can imagine every day.
6. I have over 100,000 baseball cards dating back to 1910 - Starting next month, I'm going to start selling them all. It will be brutal for me to do.
7. I used to work in military intelligence - insert your own joke here
8. yes I am that funny - My sense of humor was directly influenced by Steve Martin and my oldest brother C.E.
9. I want to marry Zhang Ziyi
10. I can't visit a book store or toy store for less than 90 minutes - Every time I walk in them its like the first time
11. I was supposed to play football at Michigan State University - Unfortunately life had a different plan
12. It's impossible for me to be bummed out while listening to Barry White's Greatest Hits - Of course I think that's a universal thing. Try it. Seriously
13. I am addicted to both Gatorade and green tea and I think creme horns should be a separate food group
14. I have a very wide-eyed child-like spirit - But don't make the mistake of thinking I'm immature
15. I'm Batman - I am a Batman freak. Movies, comic books, graphic novels, action figures etc. I even had a little Batmobile I rode in as a kid. I kept my lunch in the trunk
15a. In that same vein, I relate to tortured, solitary figures - Besides Batman, my favorite play is Phantom of the Opera and my favorite book is Frankenstein.
16. I think I would have been a good father - Hey, I already have plenty of toys. If you ever saw me with my cat, Keiko, you'd think I already was a father lol
On the A45 between Weedon and Daventry. These chickens are applied to various surfaces around the area by a local artist.Bins are probably the most popular though

In at #41 this morning :-) - thanks as always for your interest and comments. Another one from the Offshoot outing to Great Saltee off Co. Wexford on 12 May. The aim here was to get a clean background by finding a Razorbill Alca torda with the sea behind it– but without reflections from the sun. Given the very strong illumination and consequent harsh shadows, I added some fill light with high speed flash (info here & here). As I was only 2-3m from it – as captured by Olive, I didn’t use the flash extender. I stopped down the aperture to try to get both the eye and the tip of the beak sharp. It was the taken with Canon 100-400mm, for 1/400th of a second, 400mm, f9 and ISO 200. This is my favourite from a long series of this bird – the constant moving of its head and resultant changes in the lighting, as well as the bird’s regular blinking meant that most of the shots were throwaways!
Out for a day of hunting on a cold multi weathered day. Wind snow sun and rain all in the period of three hours.
One of two tunnels in a row on a one-lane portion of Forest Road 376 in the Jemez Mountains. This tunnel is approximately 125 feet long, and the south tunnel is approximately 100 feet long.
The tunnels were used for about two decades in the mid 1920s to transport logs from the Jemez Mountains using the Santa Fe Northwestern Railway. When the railway was discontinued the tunnels were converted for use by vehicles.
The tunnels were the location of several Hollywood films, including The Scorch Trials, The Lone Ranger, and 3:10 to Yuma.
