Weather conditions improved in the late afternoon. This is a northwestward view from a hill that used to be the site for Chichijima's weather station.
The island in the left is Nishijima (西島, western island), while those in the right are Hyoutanjima (瓢箪島 gourd island), Anijima (兄島 older brother island), and Hitomarujima (人丸島).
According the climate data provided by Japan Meteorological Agency, average temperature of the coldest month in Chichijima is 18.5 degree Celsius, which means Chichijima has a tropical climate.
Annual precipitation of Chichijima is 1,296 mm, and the precipitation of the driest month is 51.6 mm, which means Chichijima has the tropical monsoon climate (Am) as compared to the humid subtropical climate (Cfa) in the Izu islands and the main island part of Tokyo.
Chichijima's climate is relatively dry judging from the Japanese standard; annual precipitation of downtown Tokyo is 1,530 mm.

Lisbon trams became iconic and the most famous one is the “28”, a line that runs between Prazeres and the Castle, passing through many traditional and historical areas of the city.
A must-do for anyone visiting Lisbon.
Usually it runs with many tourists on board. In Covid times it was empty... Fortunately the pandemic situation has now improved considerably.

After their overnight run from Medley, FL, FEC train 336 switches onto the Cemex City Point lead at CP City Point in Cocoa, FL.
CP City Point was rebuilt from its original configuration a few months prior to this photo. Originally, it was just the single main and the City Point lead with some standard vaders. Now, as you can see, there's a whole new main being built and two tracks that turn west off of the main to head toward Orlando for Brightline.

⭐️Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ Visits and Comments they are so very much appreciated. 👍
I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their Visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.
Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)
This part of Ghent has recently been improved. I went with a friend for some golden hour and blue hour shots.
I combined a long exposure shot with a normal shot, to obtain sharp boats.

For improved visibility on level crossings, NS are fitting the class SNG EMUs with a yellow front. For now, the blue and yellow fronts can be seen together - in this case literally, as the leading unit has the blue front (mostly obscured by the overhead line portal and, of course, the other EMU) and the trailing one is yellow. The pair are on their way on a local service from Amsterdam Centraal to Amersfoort Vathorst. Soest, 05-09-2021.
After some nights spent to learn and practice new imaging techniques, I propose a version of my first attempt to Andromeda Galaxy, less harsh, more realistic and detailed and (I hope) nicer to see.

Running on track 2 due to track 1 being out of service for maintenance, a passenger test extra, with freshly rebuilt CTrail GE P40BH 6711 and five cars, makes its way south on a dismal afternoon in Wallingford. 6711 is former New Jersey Transit 4803 and Amtrak 820, which was built in July of 1993. Original title “Working Girl” was inappropriate. Looked back at all my photos that year and asked myself what I liked best, and why. This is the type photo for a core theme—images resolving contradictions. In this case, order and chaos, as the woman cleans the window of a clock shop with a perfectly horizontal squeegee stroke in a sea of bubbles. Love her contemplative expression, and the clutter of urban reflections superimposed on the orderly interior of a Viennese clock seller.

My good friend Peter EW&F suggested that I improve my bug trap to save the Honey Bees.
I haven't caught any Honey Bees yet mostly flies and ants but I improved it anyway just incase, I can now open the lid and let them out.
See original trap below.
Have a great day!
The other one was so messy, so I redone the whole thing, and I also didn't like his previous owner...

So after spending a day in the Hofn area it was time to start heading back west to Reykjavik. It was cold and cloudy but we decided to check out the waterfall we could see in the distance and where that road went (see previous post). The cloudy weather was good for shooting waterfalls, and maybe with the cold less people. We bumped along in first gear all the way to a small parking area and started up the narrow trail. There was a lot of lumber all along the trail, so it looks like they're trying to improve the trial and areas were roped off(although some people just ignored the ropes and walked right through the sensitive ground cover) This was our first view of Hangandifoss and I liked how it was framed in the V of the canyon walls.

In an effort to improve fuel efficiency, NASA and the aircraft industry are rethinking aircraft design. Inside the 8’ x 6’ wind tunnel at NASA Glenn, engineers recently tested a fan and inlet design, commonly called a propulsor, which could use four to eight percent less fuel than today’s advanced aircraft.
The new propulsor is designed to be embedded in the aircraft’s body, where it would ingest the slower flowing air that normally develops along an aircraft’s surface, called boundary layer, and use it to help propel the aircraft.
The tests showed that the new fan and inlet design could withstand the turbulent boundary layer airflow and increase efficiency. Results of the tests can be applied to cutting-edge aircraft designs that NASA and its partners are pursuing.

Improved version of the 500C/M.
Following the design principle of the previous models, the Victor Hasselblad AB made the V-series completely modular: Not only the lenses, but also the winding crank, the viewfinder and the film magazine are exchangeable during normal operation of the camera. With the introduction of the 500C/M, also the focussing screen became easily exchangeable. The 500C/M was also sold as the Hasselblad 500 Classic bundle that included a 80mm lens and A12 film back.
Another bash at improving my product photography. This time with an additional prop. I still have a long way to go before I'm happy. I'm limited these days by space so everything is done in a Heath Robinson fashion! I'd love a proper studio with proper lights instead of standing on one leg whilst holding foamboard, diffusers, flashes and remote controls!
I've had to comp together the bottle and the glass. This lighting effect could not be achieved in a single shot.
I've used as single YN560IV speedlight. For the bottle: Flash in a 24" double diffused softbox to the rear. Approx. 18" away. A further diffuser was used just behind the bottle to give a more gradated rim light. This hasn't quite had the effect I wanted! I cut from a piece of black foamboard a slightly larger shape of the bottle and placed this behind. Then 2 larger pieces of black foamboard placed left and right of subject to control the glare from the softbox. Speedlight triggered via YN560TX Full power @ 24mm. I then used the same flash with a Rogue grid attachment to light the label. 1/128 @ 24mm.
The glass was filled with water and a few drops of red food colouring. Same set up as the bottle but with a much lower flash power. 1/32 @ 24mm.
PP included masking the label frame into the bottle then compositing it with the glass. I'm quite comfortable with the camera/flash aspect of these shoots but PS work still blows my mind.....
I also need to inspect my purchases closer for wonky damaged labels. Hope it tastes ok tho :)
