Sincere Importing Co. (est. 1937) has a wonderful little gift shop in the unique section of Chinatown that was built in the 1930's, Specializing in lanterns, dragon heads ect. there are all kinds of various items from the far east to shop for.
Sincere Gifts also has one of the more colorful neon signage display's you'll see on Gin Ling Way in this very picturesque section of Chinatown in downtown Los Angeles
Update 2019: The store is now permanently closed and their neon signs were acquired by the Museum of Neon Art

We went on the Los Angeles Museum of Neon Art tour last night, and it was fantastic. It is built around signage, but it is so much more than that. Anyone who loves LA needs to do this at least once. We started in downtown and made a pit stop in Chinatown before heading off to the theater district, out to Hollywood, down Fairfax and another pit stop at Canter's. Then back to downtown via Wilshire.
This is a picture of Sincere Importing in Chinatown. When we got there, the signs were turned off. Our guide asked the owner if she could turn them on, but she said she was trying to close, complaining that the neon tour always shows up when she's closing. I went in a few minutes later and adopted my most charming persona and asked if she could turn on the signs for just a minute. After some hemming and hawing, she finally asked, "Are you buying anything?!" Lucky for me, my mom was at the cash register at that very moment. She turned on the signs. :-)

There's not much left of Camp Hill's decaying downtown, and Kudzu is trying to swallow up the rest of it as 378 heads east for Columbus on a muggy summer afternoon.

I cannot tell what's being sold here and the store was closed at the time. It looks like it used to house a liquor store and now sells vintage and antique items.
Adventureland centers on a sweeping marketplace - and Tropical Imports is right at the hub of shipping and travel, located just adjacent to the Jungle Navigation Company's main dock and office depot.
Utilizing the ruins of an older stucco building, this shop offers the best in goods from the Jungle Cruise's shipping department - mostly fresh fruits and mosquito netting.
-------
Disneyland's Tropical Imports began as a small thatched kiosk along the main thoroughfare of Adventureland, but was expanded into a larger snack stall in the 1990s when the dock and queue of the Jungle Cruise was expanded to the current two-story boathouse. The space has been used over the years for many things - from selling fruit and drinks to stroller parking.
My version lives in the "real" jungle outpost that Adventureland seeks to let tourists explore in the theme park - a land of mystery and discovery.
