On October 17-18, 2023, a senior level delegation from across the U.S. government presented our most recent report on implementation the The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), a multilateral treaty that commits nations to respect the civil and political rights of individuals, including the right to life, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, electoral rights and rights to due process and a fair trial.

Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Council Michèle Taylor headed the U.S. delegation, which includes Special Assistant to the President for Democracy and Civil Participation Justin Vail, U.S. Department of State’s Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Robert Gilchrist, the Attorney General for the State of Nevada, Aaron Ford, Mayor of Montgomery, Alabama, Steven Reed, as well as nine other senior U.S. government representatives from the Department of Justice, Department of Labor, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Education, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Defense.

"The rights enshrined in the ICCPR are foundational to the fabric of all thriving democracies," said Ambassador Taylor in her opening remarks before the Human Rights Committee, the body which monitors treaty implementation. "For example, ensuring the right to vote and to participate in public affairs is not only necessary to foster an active civil society and political pluralism, it is crucial to ensure equal treatment under the law and to address a broad range of human rights challenges. We are deeply committed to the respect and protection of the rights enshrined in the ICCPR. The United States demonstrates that commitment by adopting and implementing measures to give effect to those rights."

Justin Vail, Special Assistant to President Biden for Democracy and Civil Participation, said the United States is "resolute" in its commitment to protecting human rights. "Because great nations do not hide from their history or their faults. They acknowledge them and work to improve with transparency, humility and perseverance."

Sustainable Community Enterprise Development (SuCED) Project shall empower three (3) Voluntary Young Enterprise Developers (YED) to be able to empower five (5) Emerging Entrepreneurs (EE) each with necessary knowledge and skills to be able to Sustainably Manage their Enterprises. There is a growing number of young people who are being abused and are used as traffickers of narcotics and related drugs within our community because they are desperate, an equally bigger number are forming gangs and illegal groups that maim, steal and make our community unsafe and now we have a bigger of radicalization and recruitment into violent extremism due to unemployment among others. To overcome these we need this project.

Unemployment is an Mombasa. We followed media, searched reports and researches undertaken and coming face to face with young people venturing to social ills complaining on challenging times without employment.

China, as the leading promoter of the “one belt, one road” initiative, must take steps to ensure that businesses act responsibly. At the same time, China should implement a well-designed training program that provides officials at all levels of government and entrepreneurs with basic information about operating abroad. And it should do more to spur the involvement of Hong Kong – which possesses major advantages in finance and logistics, information accessibility, talent recruitment, and implementation of the rule of law – in the initiative. Last but not the least, the central government needs to strengthen the guidance of crisis management and exit strategies.

Realizing the “one belt, one road” initiative will not be easy. But China has all of the tools it needs to succeed. As long as it uses them in a way that is clean, green, and transparent, China and its neighbors will reap vast rewards.

Ever since introducing a noble cause of distribution of SOLAR LANTERN ( ROSHNI ) to the needy and poor villagers and families of rural areas in Pakistan under the Donation of Mr. Ammer Shah In loving Memory of Janat BiBi Shah (Mother of Ammer Shah), a team Lodhie Foundation was assigned to visit the Village of Thatta Region to observe and witness the distribution of Solar Lantern ROSHNI to the most needy Village of Village Abdul Hakeem Shah, located near Keenjhar Lake, District Thatta #Sindhof district badin Sindh Region .

As a gesture of goodwill Mr. Ammer Shah Donor of Lodhie Foundation offered a gift of 30 solar powered LED lights to the Village Abdul Hakeem Shah, located near Keenjhar Lake, District Thatta ,Sindh.

Benefits

·Freedom from Darkness — The sunlight fades as early as 6 p.m, leaving the villagers in complete darkness. With solar lantern lighting, they have about an additional five hours of light to add to each day.

·Freedom from Illiteracy — More hours of light means more hours for children to study and get a better education, which is crucial to improving their social-economic future.

·Freedom from Poverty — With solar LED lanterns, the villagers no longer have to pay for expensive kerosene lanterns. Also, with more hours of light, the men and women have additional hours to work, which means more income for each household.

·Freedom from Hunger — More income means more money to better feed each member of the family; a daily concern for villagers.

·Freedom from Disease — Kerosene lanterns give off toxic and dangerous fumes; solar LED lanterns do not. LED lanterns also provide extra visibility, which helps against nighttime hazards.
