Very territorial little Lizard. He spotted me a long way off and ran to confront me. Immediately challenge me to a contest of pushups. He did about 45 or more in just a few seconds. I said "Okay Pal, you win. No contest." Feeling superior now, he hopped up on a rock about 6 feet away, and proceeded to challenge me once again, but this time did about 75, and waited for a response. I straightaway turned and walked away, in absolute defeat.
----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

I didn’t immediately see this little guy because he was hidden in the middle of a group of Mallards. Also his colouring was much the same as the surrounding stone. They don’t stay still very long and he was wandering all over the place so I was fortunate to get him when he stood still for a moment.
Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to leave a comment. Truly appreciated!
I wish this van was parked somewhere else and in better light when I photographed it, but what can you do? I love these old VW vans. I’ve had my eye on this one for a while, and it’s actually for sale at the moment... I met the owner today, and she’s a very cool person (of course she is!). She’s a fellow redhead and sings in a band called Sly Violet. I liked her immediately.
We bought her CD and listened to it on the way home from the cottage. Great stuff! We also listened to this song on repeat. It’s one of my top picks for summer 2019.
I came across this rattlesnake while walking a trail in the nature preserve near my home today. It immediately alerted me to its presence with its rattle (not stopping the entire time I was within its sight). As soon as I heard it, I took several steps backward. I could hear where it was, but it took me about a minute to spot it hiding under the sage bush where the sound was coming from.
I was about 4 feet away and had my telephoto lens attached (hoping for a good bird photo). I was able to adjust my exposure for the poor light under the bush and captured this shot through an opening in the branches (while maintaining my safe distance).
The quote: “Rattlesnakes would be a lot more dangerous if they didn't have the rattle.”
Is from the book ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar. It is a good read for young adults. My son and I both read it when he was in middle school.
Shot for “Smile on Saturday!” and the theme ‘Pictures with added text’. (Smile? I’m smiling for capturing this shot without getting bit thanks to its rattle!)
I did not go any further on the trail. The path was too narrow for me to pass safely. I'm sure the snake was happy I turned back too!
That melody immediately played in my head, because it reminded me of the great Beatles' song, composed by George Harrison.
Thank you in advance for your interest and comments on my photos. That's much appreciated..
After starting my day on the Mattawamkeag Sub with NBSR, I then cut across to Greenville to try and lens the rail train working the Moosehead around MP 36. They were dumping out around Squaw Brook for the whole morning and into the afternoon when they would meet 250. As luck would have it they took paper from the West siding switch Moosehead to Jackman immediately after the meet. With the sun fading I knew I wouldn't be getting anything at Parlin, but as I came around the corner on Route 15 at Demo Rd I knew I had them. The sun was nearly head on, if not for that there was no hope, the sun was getting incredibly low in the sky. Veteran SD40-2 5936 was doing the honors with SD60 6258 trailing.
Today is an orange day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Crazy Tuesday is a crazy macro/closeup. I immediately thought about the picture I took of Yellow lady walking her dinosaur. It was on January the 19th, 2024. I had too much wine and chocolate the day before, so I could not sleep. It was about 5am in the morning (however the time on my camera is a little bit off so the exact hour is unknown). The sun was nearly getting up and I was looking outside, hoping that my hungover will soon go away. And then I saw Yellow Lady, walking her dinosaur on a leash. As we all know, dinosaurs are like exotic animals and you are absolutely not allowed to keep them at home ! However, long time ago Yellow Lady got a dinosaur egg as a gift from a very important politician and for diplomatic reasons she accepted the gift. Few month later: a dinosaur hatch from that egg. And long story short, it has been 17 years since Yellow Lady walks her dinosaur daily very, very early in the morning and hopes that no one will report it to the authorities… Yes, she got attached to her Dino and consider it as a son…so please, don’t call the police ! If you do, I’m pretty much sure they will consider this picture to be a very crazy closeup and you might be accused of wasting taxpayers' money…
Mucho, mucho amor for you my friends !! Have a beautiful day !!!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !
I have a feeling that title has been used before :) Yes, took my fisheye on the train to Boston which gave me something to do as everything rushed past. Have to make fast decisions!
Edit: 16 mm f2.8 Nikon fisheye bought secondhand about 25 years ago and no electrical connection for camera to know what it is. I bought it not long after we married and my was impressed it paid for itself almost immediately when a photo won a competition. About the last one I won with any money attached :)
The moon startled me momentarily last evening as it always does when I first spot it rising. Not sure why that is. Even when I'm expecting to see it I have a sudden wave of anxiousness. It passes immediately but it's there nonetheless. After that I'm more in awe of it than anything else, especially in those moments when it hangs low in the sky, caught up in the trees as I like to think of it. That's when the optical illusion of size is full apparent. It just looks enormous compared to the much smaller appearance it takes on as it rises high into the sky. Of course it's exactly the same size the entire time, but appearance, and more importantly, feeling, is everything for me. And watching the moonrise over a desolate cornfield and beneath the branches of an old tree made me feel utterly complete.
Perhaps it was the most amazing moment of the lunar eclipse. Immediately after the full phase (I observed from #Western_Siberia ), the southern pole began to flare up, freed from the shadow of the Earth ...
And at that moment, the colors typical of the golden hour (so familiar to us on earth during the sunset and dawn), and - at the same time! - colors characteristic of the blue hour.
Only on Earth do we observe the blue hour after sunset (or before sunrise). But the blue hour of the moon coincided with the appearance of the first rays of the sun on it.

Rus.:
"And as we wind on down the road our shadows taller than our soul. There walks a lady we all know who shines white light and wants to show how everything still turns to gold. And if you listen very hard the tune will come to you at last. When all are one and one is all to be a rock and not to roll. And she's buying a stairway to heaven." Led Zeppelin
When I saw these stairs, I knew what it had to be immediately.
Redstarts are immediately identifiable by their bright orange-red tails, which they often quiver. Breeding males look smart, with slate grey upper parts, black faces and wings and an orange rump and chest. Females and young are duller. Redstarts 'bob' in a very robin-like manner, but spend little time at ground level. It is included on the Amber List of species with unfavourable conservation status in Europe where it is declining. When I saw this cheetah I immediately hugged it -
from now on I was lost in love and addiction for cats ... :-)
When one says, "maldives" immediately thinks to this kind of color. The sea is so transparent and so crystalline... What a paradise.
Haggis is a savoury pudding containing sheep's pluck (heart, liver, and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and cooked while traditionally encased in the animal's stomach[1] though now often in an artificial casing instead. According to the 2001 English edition of the Larousse Gastronomique: "Although its description is not immediately appealing, haggis has an excellent nutty texture and delicious savoury flavour".[2]
Je confirme: c'est délicieux!
Immediately upon arrival into Ketton Ward sidings of train 6F73, the 11:22 from London's St. Panacars cement terminal behind GBRf's 66753, RMS Locotech owned 08809 runs the first eight of thirty eight empty wagons from the exchange sidings, situated beside the Melton Mowbray to Peterborough line, up to the Ketton cement works. Located in the ancient county of Rutland in the centre of England, this short privately owned branch line links the cement works at Ketton to the main railway network. Old loading facilities and a tiny underpass beneath the A6121 limit the wagon type to these early 1980s French built PCA four wheelers of which there are 42 in service to maintain a 38 wagon set, all in use by Hanson Cement. I thought the fabric had to dry completely for the stains to stick, but I rinsed this one almost immediately, and the staining is still fairly dark :-D
Thank you Lya Seerose for letting me bring to life this picture ! If you don't already know her, run check out her amazing work :)
Here is the story she wrote for this :
Three days. The hunt lasted three entire days. It was a personal matter for her, he would not escape this time. When she started to look for him, she first heard rumors spreading about « this charming nobleman with a damned smile » that just rented the biggest mansion in the smallest village the farthest away from his last home. She knew immediately it was HIM. Finding him was easier than she thought, she just had to follow the words on the streets, the tittle-tattle of Ladies swooning and blushing and the praise of Gentlemans vowing about his good reputation and his manners after only a few hours with this man. He was a master of disguise, his sweet talk could make you do anything that he chose to and his stare alone could force any last bit of resistance out of you. No one unprepared stood a chance against him, he had that power, a dark one and he was using it to play with people, making them puppets in his private theatre
But she would not be fooled like them, not again, she knew too good now who she was after and that the next time that they would meet eachother, one of them would not see the light of the day again. When she finally caught up with him he was sweet-talking a blond-haired girl in the streets, drawing the contours of her face with his satin gloved finger and the Lady was having a hard time keeping her composure. He had that effect on you, making you a weak creature between his hands. The day was about to end but it was still too early, and, for the lucky innoncent girl, people were still roaming the streets. He was well aware of that so he decided to return home and just wait for the night to fall completely, to help cover his steps as well as his sins before coming back for her, later. He took a last look at her appetizing throat and left. At the end of the street, he turned around the corner, proceeding to walk back to the mansion with no idea he was being followed by a retributive shadow this time. When he entered the deep and dark woods in front of the propriety, the pitter-patter of the civilized word vanished completely and all was calm around him. That's when she decided to stop the hunt. No more prey and predator, no more hiding and lurking.... only Him and Her, reunited once again. She stepped out in front of him in the pale moonlight, revealing herself to his gaze, and simply said to that smirking bastard « - Darling, smile for me one last time ! » while aiming at him

Here's one you may not immediately recognize from Zion NP. This is The Subway with higher than normal water flow!
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, visitors leaving Essen central station to the north are immediately tempted by savory treats and mulled wine offered from numerous stalls lining the main pedestrian thoroughfares of the city.
The theme is CHIP, they said.
My mind immediately thought "potato chip" however that seemed too obvious so I thought more widely. Computer chip also seemed a bit obvious, however my husband had these little gems with 'legs' to create shadows, so I jazzed them up with red and blue lights. That was fun.
Facts:
Elk antlers begin to form immediately after the last set is shed. Because elk antler grows faster than any other tissue in its body, a healthy bull can grow nearly one inch of antler every single day, leaving them with a fully formed set of antlers within the next few months.
An adult male elk, or bull, begins to grow antlers in spring. ... By late summer or early autumn, the velvet falls off, leaving the elk with a 18-kilogram (40-pound) pair of solid-bone antlers.
A bull may have a 5-point rack as a 2-1/2-year-old and then a small six-point rack as a 3-1/2-year-old. Its best antlers, however, usually come at age 9-1/2 to 12-1/2!
On average, an elk eats about three pounds of food per day for every 100 pounds it weighs. A 700 pound bull elk will eat about 21 pounds of food a day!
Many thanks to all those who view, fav or comment my pictures. I very much appreciate it.
Something of a fleeting moment: the morning mist was wonderfully highlighting the sunbeams... which were rapidly burning-off the morning mist.
This is the edge of the woodland immediately behind the popular 'hilltop' viewpoint. Which isn't at the top of the hill; it seems that many visitors fail to realise that the actual 159 m asl summit, marked by a trig pillar, is ~500 m away through the trees.

I was immediately attracted to this shot as I don't recollect seeing a pair of Rats on a steel coil train - albeit in this case empties; oddly with a brake van on the rear. At a guess I assume they are returning to Tees Yard. Note the recently lifted up yard and a half loaded mgr.

It was the first time I saw it. I noticed it flying, saw it land, and immediately shot half a dozen photos before it took off again.
Nita didn’t even have time to see it, let alone frame, focus, and photograph! We’d see it a few more times that day, flying through the forest with no chance of photographing it.
The next day, on one single occasion, it gave us the opportunity to photograph it on different perches, but only for a few brief seconds.

On a foggy morning in Venice I saw you at the Arsenale. You immediately caught my eye with your turquoise costume. How beautiful you are and I was very lucky to meet you in the city of love as it is also called. It is particularly beautiful during the Carnevale di Venezia and all the colorful costumes enrich the streets with their lovely colors. At this time you are the most beautiful among all ancient cities in the world. I love walking along there and photographing the masks in the winding streets and on the bridges over the canals of the old town. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, my friend, for the time you gave me in this fascinating place. You made me very happy with that. I will come again, to the city of love with its so warm-hearted people. Venice you are so beautiful.
Thank you so much my dear friends for your visit and beautiful words which means a lot to me. A special THANK YOU far all who gave me your attention on my last picture with the golden larches. Your loving words filled my heart with great joy.
You know already my connection to Venice and the Carnevale. I have many friends there and hope after tree years of absence to meet them again some day. From time to time I will post a picture from the Carnevale di Venezia. It's the only time of year when I'm out for some days as a portrait photographer. I hope you like it at least a little. Sorry who doesn't like it. It is part of my „somewhat different“ photographic work.
You are beautiful Venice, surrounded by waves - quiet mirror of sublime works of art!

When i woke up this morning i had no idea i would witness the sun romancing the frost through my bedroom window. It was pure delight but ...like the first dance of new love... I wish the feeling lasted forever. Nature colliding together...what a gift!
Immediately this song came to mind.....
Upon our arrival to Yellowstone, we immediately heard the tale of a canyon, a cliff, and a Bobcat. Bobcat sightings are extremely rare in the park, and no research has been conducted in Yellowstone to determine the numbers or distribution of this elusive animal that usually is solitary, nocturnal, and widely scattered over its range. Within the park there is a small canyon through which a fast river flows. On one side is a narrow park road, and on the other is an embankment which meets up with sheer cliff wall, rising up about 300’. It is a secluded area, boxed off from easy access for most wildlife. It was there that our tale unfolded. The duality of nature is apparent to any keen observer, and Yellowstone is no exception. On Monday, a mule deer went over the cliff, falling to its death. Whether it stumbled or was chased, no one will ever know. One can see the impressions made in the deep snow where it fell and then slid a bit where it came to rest. While the cliff had stolen the life of the mule deer, it now provided a gift. Where the Bobcat came from, no one is sure. There was a second set of impressions to the left of the Mule deer. Could the cat have gone over the cliff with it? They are light, the snow was deep, and cats are known to land on their feet, but Bobcats are also very adept at climbing up and down rock edifices. We were left to choose our own version of events. Clearly, the Bobcat found itself in a most desirable position. A week’s supply of fresh meat, relatively protected from any intrusive wolves or coyotes. Even the sharp eyed Ravens appeared thwarted. And so while nature takes, it also generously provides. The Bobcat remained on the carcass for over a week. There was nothing to disturb it, except 100 or so photographers and snowmobilers who watched from far across the river. Our group spent over 10 hours, over several days, photographing the scene, taking advantage of this rare gift of a glimpse into the animal’s life and personality. Initially, I struggled a great deal with an unfamiliar lens, but in the end, I was well rewarded, and as Steve Gettle says (along with pretty much all photographers), “You can never have too much glass.” Most images taken at 1340mm (600mm prime with 1.4x converter and 1.6x Canon R7 crop body) and then heavily cropped.
Crisp, morning sunlight immediately greets BNSF 8457 and company as they punch through the east hole of Tunnel #3, swinging immediately around a long, sweeping curve with H AUBPAS3 27A and its trailing 125-car consist of mixed traffic in tow for Pasco's hump, including a healthy block of one of the region's main exports riding first class. Twelve tunnels bored through the Gorge's solid basalt cliffs keep traffic flowing through the natural wonders of this scenic, high-density freight corridor known as the Fallbridge Subdivision, 229-miles between Vancouver and Pasco as trains hug the northern banks of the adjacent Columbia River, connecting the country with the busy Pacific Northwest ports. Located near the small community of Cook, WA, Tunnel #3 is the second of five within a 3-mile span that this train will encounter in quick succession as both steel rails, and parallel State Highway 14, must carefully thread the needle, sharing narrow confines of land packed tightly between the many large rock formations and the waterways that once carved them out many years ago.
A juvenile Bald Eagle was sitting on a snow covered dirt hill when another one came too close. It appears that the first one stepped on the second one's wing that immediately resulted in confrontation (next shot). Ok, not really stepped on, it is most likely an optical illusion because of limited spatial resolution; however, close enough to initiate the confrontation.
The most famous of the Thousand Islands in Alexandria Bay, New York. At the turn-of-the-century, George C. Boldt, millionaire proprietor of the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, set out to build a full size rhineland castle in Alexandria Bay, on picturesque Heart Island. The grandiose structure was to be a display of his love for his wife, Louise.
Beginning in 1900, the Boldt family spent summers in the 1000 Islands at the Boldt Families Wellesley House near Mr. Boldt’s Wellesley Island Farms while 300 workers including stonemasons, carpenters, and artists fashioned the six story, 120 room castle, complete with tunnels, a powerhouse, Italian gardens, a drawbridge, alster tower (children’s playhouse) and a dove cote. Not a single detail or expense was spared.
In January 1904, tragedy struck. Boldt telegraphed the island and commanded the workers to immediately “stop all construction.” Louise had died suddenly. A broken hearted Boldt could not imagine his dream castle without his beloved. Boldt never returned to the island, leaving behind the structure as a monument of his love.
For 73 years, the castle and various stone structures were left to the mercy of the wind, rain, ice, snow and vandals. When the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority acquired the property in 1977, it was decided that through the use of all net revenues from the castle operation it would be preserved for the enjoyment of future generations.
Since 1977, several million dollars have been applied to rehabilitating, restoring and improving the Heart Island structures.
Walking around the Toulouse Courthouse, I was immediately drawn to the way its curved facade created these fascinating concentric lines. I positioned myself to capture just this section where the pattern of white panels and dark openings creates an almost musical rhythm.
The black and white treatment felt natural for this shot - it strips away distractions and emphasizes the strong contrast between the light surfaces and dark gaps. What interests me about architectural photography is finding these moments where functional design transforms into something visually captivating.
I love how the curves give a sense of movement to something that's completely static. There's something almost hypnotic about following these lines as they sweep across the frame. By framing tightly on just this portion of the building, I wanted to create something more abstract that focuses on pattern and rhythm rather than showing the structure as a whole.
I took this photograph a couple of years ago, mainly out of boredom. I was standing at the exact spot where I took it, waiting for a friend who was late. The image itself was insignificant. Other views that are more representative of Sitges, a seaside town close to Barcelona, are also available. It's well-known for its beauty and lively atmosphere. It's also where I used to spend my summers during my childhood and early youth.
I thought it wasn't worth sharing, so I decided to delete it. Then I had an idea: I'd try to reinvent the old postcards people bought when I was a kid. They were, somehow, similar to this shot: loud, overexposed, and of poor quality.
With the arrival of foreign tourists, greetings from... began to appear. Previously, it would have been "Recuerdos desde...", always in Spanish because Catalan was publicly forbidden and restricted to family settings.
They used to bear a stamp of some kind, such as a flag or a town shield.
Those who know the place will immediately realize it's a modern image. Apart from the way people are dressed, you can see buildings that didn't exist at that time.
I suppose those who have never seen anything like this, or who are not reading this explanation, won't like the photograph. Anyway, I had a great time editing it.
Yardenit ist der Taufort am Fluss Jordan in dem Jesus getauft wurde. Der hebräische Name des Jordanflusses ist Yarden. Daraus leitet sich der Name YARDENIT ab.
Yardenit known as the Yardenit Baptismal Site, is a baptism site located along the Jordan River in the Galilee region of northern Israel,
“In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And when he came up out of water, immediately he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit descending upon him like a dove, and a voice came from heaven; ‘Thou art my beloved Son, with thee I am well pleased.” Mark 1:9-11
Visitors to Yardenit are greeted by this very verse from Mark’s account of the baptism of Jesus in over 80 languages and dialects, depicted in hand painted tiles by Armenian artist Hagop Antreassian on the Wall of New Life.
Thanks a lot, my friends, for your visit, all your comments and faves!
The days of the Crewe Works test trains on the North Wales Coast and ex works Railfreight Red stripe liveried 37679 reverberates through Abergele & Pensarn with the outward working from Crewe. 37679 was allocated to the aggregates pool working out of Peak Forest immediately after this.
* From 1985 onward the decision was made to run a dedicated test train along the NWC route for the 37/4's during their refurbishment at Crewe works. In latter years this was dispensed with and the traction was attached on the front of a scheduled timetabled working to Holyhead.
Literally set among the suggestive rocks of the Lucanian Dolomites , Castelmezzano , in the province of Potenza , is one of the most precious jewels of Basilicata . Its perched houses reminiscent of a crib , the rugged peaks that frame it, the small alleys and stairways that run through it offer enchanting views that truly conquer everyone and give off the perfect atmosphere for a weekend of high romance . The splendid location would be enough to make the resort an ideal destination for an extremely pleasant couple's stay , but in reality Castelmezzano has much more to offer visitors in search of a romantic atmosphere.
The emotion begins to grow already along the way when, after crossing a spectacular gorge , you find yourself walking along a tunnel dug into the rock , at the exit of which the view of the village clinging to the Lucanian Dolomites reaches straight to the heart, giving you immediately the impression of being in the right place with the right person. The shapes of the rocky peaks and their play of lights and shadows explain their evocative names, ranging from "beak of vicetta" to "lion's mouth" up to "anvil" and " golden eagle" , while the historic center with its typically medieval structure, enchants with the beauty of its houses wedged between the rocks and surmounted by roofs in sandstone slabs . Walking along the narrow alleys of the historic center and climbing the small stairways, you reach magnificent panoramic points from which to enjoy a splendid view of the surrounding landscapes , in a continuous interaction between urbanized views and natural sceneries that have earned the town the nickname of the city - nature .
Furthermore, Castelmezzano is included in the list of the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy and, admiring the artistic and architectural treasures that it holds, immediately explains why. Piazza Caizzo with the splendid mother church of Santa Maria dell'Olmo is only the beginning of a magnificent itinerary dedicated to history and beauty. Walking along the main street of the town , with the Town Hall building to adorn it, you reach the ruins of the castle and, entering the streets of the center, you discover other precious buildings ranging from the elegant Palazzo Ducale to Palazzo Coiro . Going outside the town and exploring the surroundings, you will discover other enchanting surprises. The ancient mills with roofs made of local chiang chimate stone slabs dot the Caperrino valley crossed by picturesque buildings, stairways and bridges , while vestiges of distant eras peep out among the uncontaminated scenery of the Gallipoli Cognato Piccole Dolomiti Park .

Ambalavao (Madagascar) - I was going to the zebu market, when these two young boys, sons of traders, met near my hotel, wanted me to photograph them. They immediately posed, but the one on the right acted shy and didn't dare look at the camera anymore.
Immediately after bycycling to and from a nearby village convenience store where he purchased some breakfast food for his fellow crewmembers and for himself, a young man ascends with ease a wooden ramp toward the front end of a large fishing boat which is moored by the seashore.
Captured in early morning in Subic, Zambales, Philippines.

Vancouver House is a neo-futurist residential skyscraper in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Construction of the skyscraper began in 2016 and was expected to be finished by the end of 2019, but completion was postponed to summer of 2020.[2][3]
Design
Vancouver House was designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and structural engineers Buro Happold and Glotman Simpson. The design is based on a triangle that rises from the ground and gradually transitions into a rectangle as it ascends to the top.[5] The design reflects the constraints of developing the triangular-shaped plot of land immediately east of the Howe Street on-ramp of the Granville Street Bridge.[6] The east and west facades of the building feature box-shaped balconies, giving the building's exterior a honeycomb texture.[7]
Spinning Chandelier, a public art piece, was installed near the skyscraper as part of the city's rezoning requirement.
Built immediately to the south of Linlithgow Palace, the church was much favoured as a place of worship by Scottish Kings and Queens. Mary, Queen of Scots, was born in Linlithgow Palace on 8 December 1542 and was baptised in St Michael’s Church.
