Guggenheim Museo, Bilbao.

What I really liked the most about this museum was the building itself, its shapes, lines and curved lines, and all the imagination necessary to create it. Observing it and all the details was my joy during my stay in Bilbao.

This beautiful charcoal corrugated wall is on the old Traders Post shop I used to visit when I was a kid. I loved sneaking around all the piles of old things. Finding intricate beautiful handmade vintage goodness I couldn't afford. I did save up and bought a gorgeous wooden box with beautifully carved sides and a Scottie dog on top when I was about 9. Although I'd been brought up to fear dogs I loved them anyway.

The Traders Post closed and later became a salon. I went for massages then walked home through the park feeling light and free. I think it's a private residence now & I love that they painted it all this lovely dark colour. It throws light rather nicely.

I've been playing around with editing ... I don't tend to use photoshop much, normally just to tidy up distractions in an image ... but I'm making an effort to be more adventurous ...

Inside the cloister at Jerpoint Abbey you can see the scale of ruin of the place. But also with a squint of an eye and a little imagination you can also see how magnificent it was in its day. And even hear the faint sounds of monks going about their day.
