The polymer clay pendant was created by me, Lynda Moseley. It is a double layer image transfer of a vintage water lily illustration on a background taken from a print of Monet's Water Lilies. It was transferred to a Pearl Premo clay base layered on Gold Premo, which I added Ranger Stream, Bottle, Eggplant and Mustard embossing powder for texture and added interest.
I enhanced the pendant with caramel mosaic shell beads and various colors and shapes of turquoise and finished it with a gold toggle clasp.

I'm making some large beads depicting vintage bird illustrations on a taupe blend of Pearl, Gold, Alizarin Crimson and Ecru Premo clays treated with Ranger Copper and Weathered Wood Embossing Powders, which adds texture. I brushed all sides with a thin layer of liquid Kato clay then baked, sanded and buffed.
These beads are between 25 mm and 35 mm large.
This is my entry for the Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy's May challenge, the theme of which is "History/Historical Event."
My entry commemorates the ratification and passing of the 19th amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which finally gave women in this country the right to vote in 1920. It also honors the first women in my family who were legally able to exercise their right to vote, my Great Grandmothers: Caralie Douglas Medlock Stoney, Julia Elizabeth Craft Moseley, Cora Lee Taylor Page and Pezzie Hinson Forrester.

Pendant: Image transfer of a vintage Morris Tapestry, embossed on the reverse and signed by me
Gemstones: Handmade fumed hollow glass beads made by Wandering Spirit Designs (see her flickr photostream), Green Opal, Tiger Jasper, Antique Gold Plate Spacer beads, Brass Clasp
The polymer clay pendant and ship focal bead were created by me, Lynda Moseley, using an image transfer technique and an embossing technique. The image is a Japanese Woodcut design titled "Great Wave Off Kanagawa" Hokusai Katsushiki. I embossed the pendant with an Asian Lotus and Chrysanthemum stamp. It is my entry in the August Art Bead Scene Challenge.
In addition to the small focal bead which I created, I used Kyanite dagger beads, carved pink agate ammonite beads, Fossil Agate ovals, Impression Jasper, a/k/a Aqua Terra Jasper rounds, Bali silver spacer beads, and a Sterling Silver Hook clasp.
It was a pleasure to create something for the August ABS challenge. I am a huge fan and a collector of Japanese woodcut prints, and has been one of my personal favorites for years.

This is my entry in ArtBeadScene's October Challenge, the theme of which is an interpretation of a primitve folk art or outsider art painting by Ruby C. Williams.
I was inspired by the bold colors in the painting, and went looking for bold, colorful imagery in vintage advertising art. I thought these Vintage images of a 19th century French Balloon Show were perfect. The colors are a bit more muted than the Williams painting, but they are still rich and striking and draw they eye, much like the painting.
I created the polymer clay pendant and the "balloon" beads with copper end caps. I accentuated the polymer components with 28mm fluted, copper beads which mimic the shape of the balloons and the wire cables attached to them; and for a pop of color, red sponge coral saucer beads with copper end caps and a large, twisted copper toggle clasp.
