The International Space Station was supposed to pass flying over Miami at 8:09pm on that day, May 2nd, it was going to appear coming from the North-West, so I prepared my self pointing my camera in that direction, tripod, all set. But I never saw it, strange because the ISS alert user I follow on Twitter is pretty accurate.

Of course, I blame the clouds, rushing clouds I would say, they were running fast.

Dear friends, I decided to start a new project: the "IMAGE OF THE DAY". This will be a kind of photo-blog! I don't want to show some artistic photos, but just share with you a moment of my day. I want to inspire you and be inspired from your comments or ideas as well. The "IMAGE OF THE DAY" will show you some randomly photos about some moment during my day.

This is today dinner preparation. We went fishing during the Easter holiday and today I'm gonna to cook the fish with a "new" recipe! Take a look inside for more dinner photos of the day ....

100 Pictures ~ #94 ~ Looking Down ~ My fear of heights made this particular topic a bit daunting for me. This is the Grand Reading Room at the Main Library of The Ohio State University. This was taken from a small balcony that extends from the third floor overlooking the reading room. This was only the first weekend after classes started, so it was nice to see at least a few people actually studying on a perfectly gorgeous Sunday afternoon.

This also made Image of the Day on The Ohio State University web site for October 2.

This was today. We got a new tradition during the last sunny days in Bergen: spending al least one hour reading outside in our lovely terrace. The sun is so warm when you are protected from some houses and walls around you so that the could wind can not blow.

We enjoy every day our german/italian books with sun and this is so lovely.

Day 351 of 365

"Image 351"

Today's image happened organically. While visiting my wife at work, the little one insisted on walking down the forbidden hall. As I adjusted the focus, our subject turned to give me this shapely look. I could not have arranged it. Thank you, little one!! You can see the light sources. My silly phone camera had no issues. My SLR would not have required a few adjustments before capturing a similar image. Thank you, silly phone camera! Thanks y'all for walking by!

It’s here: the new and final version of my Vela SNR project. After multiple nights and just short of 37 hours under Bortle 6 skies, I’m thrilled to reveal the result. Capturing enough OIII was a serious test of patience, but it was worth every minute. I hope you enjoy.

—————

Approximately 11,000 years ago, a massive star in the constellation Vela ended its life in a spectacular supernova explosion, creating the Vela Supernova Remnant. This expanding debris cloud, located about 800 light-years away, spans over 100 light-years and is a prominent feature in the southern sky. The explosion also resulted in the formation of the Vela Pulsar, an incredibly dense, rapidly rotating neutron star that emits beams of radiation detectable across the electromagnetic spectrum. The Vela Supernova Remnant is likely embedded within the larger and older Gum Nebula, adding to the complexity and beauty of this celestial region.
