Beautiful Llynnau Mymbyr, set amongst Snowdonia's highest peaks, are also known as the Capel Curig Lakes and are around 3/4 mile long, with a depth of 30 feet. The lakes are situated just outside the village of Capel Curig on the road to the Llanberis Pass (A4086). A delta halfway along the north shore, dissects the lakes.
A large eruption of the Manam Volcano off the east coast of Papua New Guinea spread ash across a wide area of the mainland, southwest of Manam Island. The Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Darwin Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre issued advice to the international aviation industry to avoid Manam's volcanic ash cloud. It’s here: the new and final version of my Vela SNR project. After multiple nights and just short of 37 hours under Bortle 6 skies, I’m thrilled to reveal the result. Capturing enough OIII was a serious test of patience, but it was worth every minute. I hope you enjoy.

Approximately 11,000 years ago, a massive star in the constellation Vela ended its life in a spectacular supernova explosion, creating the Vela Supernova Remnant. This expanding debris cloud, located about 800 light-years away, spans over 100 light-years and is a prominent feature in the southern sky. The explosion also resulted in the formation of the Vela Pulsar, an incredibly dense, rapidly rotating neutron star that emits beams of radiation detectable across the electromagnetic spectrum. The Vela Supernova Remnant is likely embedded within the larger and older Gum Nebula, adding to the complexity and beauty of this celestial region.

The best shelling is found on the beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Islands. The islands rank tops in the world for shelling because of geography. Sanibel Island does the twist as it parades along the coastline among a string of other more orderly, straight-and-narrow islands. The east-west torque of Sanibel’s south end acts like a shovel scooping up all the seashells that the Gulf imports from The Caribbean and other southern seas.
The abundance and variety of shells have made Sanibel and Captiva Islands shell-obsessed. People come from all over the world, drawn by the song of the seashell. They parade along the sands doubled over in a stance that’s been dubbed the Sanibel Stoop. Every March, they gather to compare and appreciate shell collections and shell art at the annual Sanibel Shell Fair & Show. (From www.sanibel-captiva.org)

'Run Your Own Race' and 5 Other Pieces of Life Advice that Actually Changed Lives: www.huffingtonpost.com/…/life-advice-that-changed-li… FitnessMadeEasy4Me
One of the last pictures of my trip to San Francisco. After a beautiful Saturday without a single cloud in the sky, I placed myself at what I believe is Pier 1, one the piers in front Downtown SFO. Actually I was waiting for a full Moon rise on the Bay. In the mean time, I had the change to shoot a part of The Port of San Francisco, the tip of the TransAmerica bulding (center right) can be seen and far far to the right, the famous Coit Tower.
HARMON, Guam (Jan. 10, 2017) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Faustian Deguzman, assigned to the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), shoots the M500 shotgun as part of the Navy’s qualification course. The International Space Station was supposed to pass flying over Miami at 8:09pm on that day, May 2nd, it was going to appear coming from the North-West, so I prepared my self pointing my camera in that direction, tripod, all set. But I never saw it, strange because the ISS alert user I follow on Twitter is pretty accurate.
Of course, I blame the clouds, rushing clouds I would say, they were running fast.
