my cousin, Frank, up for another role.. some who know him say this one's a stretch.. others.. not so sure? ;-)
Conversion to monochrome was done in Adobe Photoshop CS2, before finally reducing it to Grayscale, which prints a nice "dirty" brown on inkjet printers... perfect for this characterization.
I took this early this summer on South Lamar Blvd. here in Austin, Tx. There are a bunch of this type of "eatery" spread around town. I like this one cause it's red. So sue me. I have enclosed the original un-retouched and then one of my renditions.
My rendition was tweaked in PS CS4 and then modified mainly using a watercolor texture overlay, and some other tweaks.
This is the "AFTER" picture.

Day 74: My 365 seems to be lacking recently so I decided to treat everyone to this image, I got the inspiration, when seeing a dying out panda advert and I decided to make this, enjoy, like, comment, share.
Sorry for the shitty framing. I did this a long time ago when I was experimenting with textures. I couldn't get rid of this because I like how the colors turned out.
.. always seeking to perfect.. or is he wishing for those wheels in the product shots?
This was shot at an impromptu meetup for burgers at Mo-Joes on Friday.
I tweaked it via layers in Adobe Photoshop CS2, using a modified "tilt shift" masking, to simulate a tilted lens/ focal plane, to enhance the direct studiousness.
My cousin, Frank, again, who acts under the name Frank Aard. This time, his new haircut and his bowler hat, from his ridiculously large hat collection, suggested a quick Stan Laurel impression. We didn't play with it to the extent we could have, but it did fuel some digital tweaking, once I got it into Adobe's Photoshop CS2...

made for MC#09 !MasterClass!
Rumaging through my digital archives, cleaning a few things up... most likely tool for most of these images is Studio Artist, followed by Visual Jockey. But anything is possible!
One of my fave special effects in Photoshop is "neon glow". Looks best large. 2nd of 5 experiments using Photoshop filters to work with an image of prickly pear cactus, taken at the Desert Botanical Gardens last weekend.
Taken by reflected (bounced) off-camera electronic flash at the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, during a daytrip by a few members of the Raleigh NC flickr meetup group.
After some tonal enhancements, I then used two Hue/Saturation layers, set to Colorize, to tone the shadows and midtones different colors... however, this is one shot.... I had to keep watching/shooting for the good fortune of a nice formation as they circled the tank.
I wish you and yours a wonderful Easter! Try and save some of the candy for the kids!
