MEET SCOOTER! I volunteer with Central Texas Dachshund Rescue as a foster parent. I was asked to photograph the dogs for the 2009 Rescue Calendar and it was a huge success! Scooter was chosen to be Miss January. Since Scooter has to be in a diaper most of the time, we decided she would make the perfect New Year's baby. Scooter is a funny little girl with a great spirit!
Take a closer look at Scooter's final photoshopped image and read her story.

3rd of 5 experiments using Photoshop filters to work with an image of prickly pear cactus, taken at the Desert Botanical Gardens last weekend. This image is called "spatter" for the filter in Photoshop. To make it work out, I dropped the levels first and then applied the spatter filter, seen best in the large view here.
At The South Carolina State Fair. Looks like its going extremely fast. Much faster than it actually was.
a new visit to the "amazing circle" technique, this makes use of the windy rains stirring up the lake, last week, as a setting for the "orb".
I followed the procedure, first, as outlined here: brilliantdays.com/archives/2005/10/how_to_create_a.php ,

I Am using the basic wondrous polar coordinates transformations as beautiful in and of themselves, but also as starting points for grounding them in their origins and/or creating new relationships for them.
The double icing on the cake is that I discover new Photoshop tools, and, by posting the results here, gain new friends.

This was achieved by blending the dinosaurs (Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus) into an image of a sunset using photoshop.
This is from the picture of multi-colored ribbons that I put up for the "One Picture - Many Images (Challenge II)" thread at our "Kaleidoscopes Only" group.
Created with the GNU Image Manipulation Program aka: GIMP
Made from two images, the character is from Venice, Italy, and the background from Grado, Italy. Edited in PS Elements.
First real effort in Corel's "Painter IX.5" software.
This was not "automatic" painting ( a feature the software has).
Each brush stroke was applied by hand, over an ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH. ( Click blue link to see photo.)
The original photo is no longer part of the image you see, as that layer was subsequently removed.
Canvas texture and signature added in "Paint Shop Pro X."
The brush strokes and areas where I became impatient to finish are more easily seen in the LARGE SIZE.
Many thanks to Matuko Amini for her encouragement and great "tip" on how to begin.
Check out her "digital painting" sets --- just click on her name, above.
A stiched compound image, composed of 6 individual exposures. This only worked because the pipefish was not moving, even when I was pretty close with my camera. Also, this is such an elongated animal!
Joseph Beyeus version - with a digital mosaic as the background. Is this still photography? Certainly it's art.
Moleskine sketches and Photoshop. The background is a collaged photoshop illustration using textures and filters (not a photo).
