Ain't she a beauty? After piecing together several clips "ransom note" style, not so much. Believe it or not, she consists of four glamourous Hollywood celebrities. I used this technique intentionally for effect to emphasize each women's most prominent features and kept them proportionate within the facial frame. Just goes to show: "All that glitters is not gold." Or is it? After staring at this for some time, I saw a resemblance of a completely different celebrity altogether!
Anyone care to venture a guess who the four celebs are before I reveal the source files?

It's good to sometimes try and see ordinary things in a little different light, or from a different perspective.

(from my Mom's garden)
This one's had a 'makeover' via Photoshop, using some choice accidentally discovered layer effects.
From my Mom's Garden, at the end of October. This blossom had a crappy background, so.. I created a new one for it, in Photoshop, enhancing it's 3D properties along the way.
Calla Lily deadheads, once again in the studio. Image manipulations consist of total background replacement (Photoshop "fibers" filter) with deadheads masked to retain them, Color tweaked for intensity and saturation, and some selective sharpening.

Does anyone else remember that term, hazy bright, that Kodak used to use in the flyer that came with it films to help estimate exposure settings without a light meter? Hazy bright was between sunny and overcast--bright enough to feel sunny but hazy enough that there are no shadows.
This one I shot at the suggestion/request of my friend, Barb.
It struck me how much the parent geese give up to usher and train the goslings to flying age.. 'til then, they have to Walk everywhere, more vulnerable as well as limited in what they can actually do to protect the cute fuzzy helpless demanding things.

Three year average (median).
Three years ago now I made a little Processing script to average sets of photos, and a few weeks before that I started a photo-a-day project, where I was careful to get as close to the same angle as possible.
This image is the result of finding the median (middle value of a sorted set) of the whole three years of photos.

Thank you so much for another year of wonderful friendships and beautiful artful inspiration.

Pimped Picture 47a Tweaked lighting and saturation added fill in flash and a little additional sharpening to eyes and mouth then added a dark marquee around the edge of the image to pull focus to the centre of the image then a little burning and doging done to bring out the shadow details. This was done as part of flickr group Fix My Pic and Pimp My Pixels.
