Bugsy was no fool.. she knew that light had it in for her.. her catnap was 'one-eye-open'-only. What she would Do when it found her? .. as you see, just Keep her Eye on it!
The original image had more even lighting, but the feel of the moment included anticipation and focus, which I felt was best conveyed by guiding the attention to the principals.. 1-Bugsy, 2-The Light, and 3-Time. Enhancements and sharpening of the scanned negative were done via Photoshop. Scanning was done on the CanoScan 8400 F.
Textured photo. All photos shot by me and processed in PS. All are from nature ;) This is a composition, the concept is like people took variety of trees and composed them in a garden ;)
Textures from www.cgtextures.com/ . Or you can shoot by yourself on any surface that has texture that you like. I just wanna save time here :)

back in colour - this is an 'original', the previously uploaded black and white was a later iteration
I finally was in the right place, half-hidden in a natural blind, when this beauty I had seen fishing all around the lake for at least two weeks decided to come land on the neighbor's diving board. I had a chance for about a dozen decent frames before she departed for another fishing spot on the shore. (I don't Know if it's a 'She' or not.. just an guess, since they look like the males, only slightly smaller.)
I hadn't noticed them in the area, 'til this year. Apparently they hang a little closer to the beaches. Though similar to cattle egrets, which Are common inland, these great egrets are larger and lankier.
Yann, master of the slap bass from the Bonneville Barons.
I shot Yann against a neutral grey background and then it's all composited in with it's new background in Photoshop, layered and blended, with use of photo filters to give everything an overall balanced colour cast to help everything sit together.

These are the great bronze feet of the statue of the great John Singleton Copley that stands in Copley Square, Boston and my loveliest and most patient, uncomplaining model, Bonney. This is also a reworking of an old photo.
Kilroy's Pansies (see the note for where the strange little Kilroy guy seemed to show up). Everyone who really liked this picture liked it even more when I told them about the little Kilroy guy (or W.C. Fields or Winston Churchill), except my mother. She said in her imperious voice, "I'm sorry dear, but I wish you hadn't told me about him. You have ruined it for me!" Oh, well, I like a picture with a little tiny sort of hidden thing in it. This is a Polaroid Manipulation, alteration, impressionistic, or whatever you want to call it.

My first ever composite that doesn't have a human subject in it. Mind you, I think this tiger is a beautiful enough subject in his own right.
His journey is done. He is home, a place where he can live out his days in peace. I'm a sucker for a happy ending you know :)
Tiger is a CGI creation with lots of background elements cobbled together in photoshop to create his home in the forest.
Chris strikes a pose with his guitar. Shot against neutral grey to help with the compositing process.

95/365. I think this photo sums up Project 365 nicely. Everywhere I go and everything I see, I'm looking at it, wondering if it'll make a good photo.

A film noir edge to this one. Just hope the gun's safety is 'on' :)
My model Sarah-Jane is shot against a neutral grey background and composited into the scene.
All backgrounds are themselves composites of various elements to create a 'hopefully' dramatic theatrical quality.

This image was created from a photograph of a BC forest / park. I used the Gnu Image Manipulation Program aka: GIMP to create a kaleidoscope effect. I went a bit overkill on the color filter, especially the saturation tool. After 6 hours, I ended up with 8 kaleidoscoped variations but used only two of those layers. The center of this image was cut and pasted from one of those variations.
This took me hours, but its been a while since I've done a superimposed picture but I thought you guys deserved one. It took loads of attempts to get the tones and lights right.
I like it :) unfortunately some of my best art comes from when I'm not in a good place
thanx to tudorrose for the backdrop

All Bokeh.. actually two 'all bokeh' images sandwiched together.. one is obvious, but the yellows in this came from a closer bokeh shot of a few backlit fading bamboo leaves.
FACING THE MUSIC ON AUSTRALIA DAY WITH KEYBOARD KELLY...
Larrikin Outlaw Bush Arranger, Bruce "Keyboard" Kelly wearing D.I.Y armour (cut from laminated sheet metal music) and bearing his weapon of musical destruction, made a plucky last ditch effort to win his freedom from the Upthecreeka Stockade on Australia Day by correctly remembering the words of the National Anthem.
"Orstrayuns all let us ring Joyce,
For she has knobbly knees...."
er...
"Aussies all are refugees,
'cept ab-o-rig-ines..."
um...
"Ockers all like eating meese,
'Cos they are stuffed with cheese...."
Bugger it anyway, strewth some baaaaaastard crack a tinny!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me in one of my suits of Kelly Gang armour. This particular suit was made from scavenged sheets of aluminum bulked out with composite board filling to make it look thicker.
I think Gail took the original piccy that I modified, but the background plate of flag and fence was one of mine.
Oh, and the picture of the keyboard I took seperately as well.
Do I need to explain who Ned Kelly was? Dingo's kidneys, just look him up on wikky, or check out my "RED KELLY" Photoset fer gawd's sake! I gotta bugger off to a barbie!

Photoshop's High Dynamic Range function was used in creating this flower image, resulting in somewhat richer details.
