I've been gone for a while, well not gone but really busy, I've mostly been filming for the movie I'm making but I got the chance to take some photos instead today.

I'm back! And a very merry belated Christmas to everyone!

After I got home from my last trip for work, I was a bit exhausted and to be honest, very ready to not do 365 anymore...ever. Up until this morning I wasn't sure if I'd keep going, but a kick in the ass from a friend and a perfectly sunlit room from Jill (jillandrowan) convinced me that the show must go on! And so I begin the final leg.

I'm back from a very long week of sports and injuries. I am so happy to be home. I would've put more effort into a photo, but I am exhausted. Hope all is well, [ I miss your photostreams!!! ] I have to go to the clinic tomorrow to check out my foot, I messed it up playing football the other day - I've been limping everywhere.

Hi. *shakes hand* I'm Merrie.

I started the 365 project for the first time in April and lasted for almost 150 days.

Then I was distracted by the closing on our house, moving, unpacking, etc., and I lost track of time.

I could have just picked up again where I left off, but I want to try to complete this project without missing a day, so I decided to start over.

I've been missing the comments and comraderie, and the creativity with planning different shots.

So I'm back. Hi. How is everyone doing?

I'm back from vacation, it was great. We did alot of hiking, sightseeing, and visiting with family. Although I didn't have access to the internet, I did take the lap top to keep my pictures organized so it should be pretty easy to get caught up on my 365. I plan on uploading some today.

The guy on our whale watching boat, said Deception Pass is the most photographed point in North America, can you see why?

The boy in the background has the same eyes as this puppy, but i couldn't get them both to look at me at the same time. :(

Well i think its safe to say my 52 week project was an epic fail, but i refuse to make myself hate photography and upload things i'm not proud of, which is what that project had become.

Now i'll just upload when want to share, not because i have to :)

I haven't updated this page in what, 5 years? So much has happened since 2015.

I kept telling myself I would update my page with all these photos, all these events that I took photos of. And then the events piled on, and life carried on, and I had little to no energy to go through, sort, and upload photos in chronological order. I started focusing on trying to sell my photography - and tried jumping into photography services. I did family photos, senior photos, engagement photos, weddings. Most of them for free.

I focused more on photography services, and less on using photography to express myself - which caused depression to kick in and the motivation to take photos dropped drastically. I couldn't even look at my cameras - photography felt like a chore.

So here I am, in 2020. Five years later with all those photo events that will probably never be posted here. I just want to share pieces and art for /me/. I am back, in hopes to express myself again. I have had several opportunities this year for my photography - even during the pandemic - and I am grateful.

I created 3 new scanner pieces for an LGBTQ+ show (that has been postponed for 2021) - which will be an on-going series as I find new ways to express myself and my identity. New scanner pieces were created just because (like this image), which is a huge. I have an urge to bring out my cameras again.

So here's to new beginnings. I hope I can keep this page updated. I may upload older pieces from the last 5 years if they spark a feeling in my heart - we will see. This page has missed out on a lot of updates and a lot of life events. Maybe we will play catch-up.

okay so i've been dead for a couple of days but it wont keep me from quitting project 365! Now, i'm back again and i will try not to miss a day this weekend and during the days to come. I've been busy with school lately and late night meetings with good ol' friends, good ol' new friends and so much more.

and... i so need a pro account. :o( i should try to get myself a pro account. Gah.

this photo is taken years ago! My 50mm was still new! This is a polaroid land camera that Eric and I borrowed from his father. He has a lot of vintage cameras. I wanna learn film, thus i plan to start with a lomo. :P but i have not decided yet when should i get one. Hmm. I am thinking of getting a holga because of the square format prints which i think is cool and unique but i don't really know yet. Hmm.

Anyway, i hope you missed me as much as i missed you, my flickr loves! :D

i have been waiting for this moment forever and it finally happened, i saved up enough money to buy a canon rebel Ti1. :) words can't express how ecstatic i am. i'm so ready to start taking more pictures and seeing what i can do. let the good times roll. :)

OK, I'm definitely back!

Today I took my d200 for a testing at the Düsseldorf Carnaval and I loved it SO MUCH. I just love the AF speed, the colours and the IQ it gives even at high-ish ISO values. I like the files it gives at iso 800 three times better than what my old 350d gave me at iso 200. And the colours.... I don't know what the VividII setting does to the files but the saturation is amazing even at a clouded day with dull lighting.

So we've been trying to get all our medical/dental situations attended to. Had to drive to Syracuse last week (about an hour away). The good news is they have good food there and the Regional Farmer's Market.Besides fruit, they have flowers and since we're going to be here we bought some STUFF! However, had to promise myself, no more Flickr, until I get all done planting.

Then good weather turned bad, like hot, humid, sunny days turn into severe thunderstorms every afternoon and evening and nightime. Every time i could sit down to the computer, I had to unplug it due to the electrical displays going on outside. I'm sorry I got behind and will try to keep up with all your pictures and comments.

I left for the summerrr but imback if u want one of these bgs i made ill be happy to make some for u!
