Staying home this summer, will plant one of those big showy West coast displays. Found some wonderful GIANT coleus in really great colors, one of which was burnt orange splashed with small spatters of green and burgundy. I absolutely loved it, even tho' its a different colorway than I usually have in my garden. Had a hard time trying to find the right flowers and finally found these. The are doing very well, and I love the colors. They look like little roses. Heather, see what I mean?
So I've been feeling a bit down lately. A bit out of sorts - as you can probably tell from my 365s. But today (well, yesterday now) I went into the city with my flatmate. First - I bought this hat. I'd been looking for one for a couple months now and couldn't find one that suited me. But I liked this one, and then I looked at the price - $10 - yay! Then my friend wanted to go look at leather jackets - and I wanted a wallet, so we went to a leather store. I saw this orange leather jacket, and knew it was me. I hadn't even considered buying one, but I just had to try it on. It was perfect. It was so me. So - I had to buy it. (I can't believe I bought a bright orange leather jacket!!) She bought a great one too, so we decided it would be fun to go home and set up my lights and take some shots all dressed up. Before doing that, I decided to finish dying my hair. As soon as I did that, I realised that it was not the cut that I hated so much - but the colour. Once I dyed my hair, I really liked it. I think that the cut was so short, it cut out all my blond. I've never had anything but blond hair, and I hated the mousy brown of the roots. (My hair has obviously changed colour from the lack of sunlight - I was always blond even when I didn't dye my hair - and I've often put random highlights in over the last 10 years or so.)
So here is my first 365 since returning from PNG that I've actually used my tripod and remote. (Yes - it's been that long since I've been so uninspired.) And it's one of my favourite ever. I'll probably post a few more shots from this shoot because I really like quite a few of them - but I may make a little slideshow just for fun...

Finally home from the Cayman Islands!
I went to the zoo today to meet all the new arrivals, including this lion who came from a zoo in San Diego. His name is Zawadi Mungu, and he's still quite young as you can see by the sub-adult quality of his mane. He rules the roost under the watchful eyes of his two females, Kya and Neka.

Linguine with limone sauce (lemon sauce) and instead of grated cheese, a super tasty pistachio farofa (pistachios blended and mixed with parmesan, parsley, white pepper, olive oil and garlic). Great combination to replace the standard cheese on top of the pasta
\Mascarpone ice cream with fresh strawberries. Also a bit of Sicilian lemon zest and sugar with vanilla pods
and with a new camera. Still learning of course so bare with me. It is the Canon Rebel XSi and I'm thrilled to pieces. This was taken with my dad's macro lens, but I got one too and just haven't started playing with it yet. I will catch up as quickly as I can with your beautiful photos. Chicken parmesan breaded with panko, slightly spicy tomato sauce with paprika and underneath the mozzarella, parmesan and a little bit of goat's cheese to give a special flavour.
So I spoke with my Dad today, Man I know everything will go well, and that I will get my car back...See I have a dilemma I bought a one way ticket, but now that I want to leave all these Job opportunities are approaching, and honestly Im going to need that car, but I think I will have time to get my car and drive right back up..ROAD Trip....
My sister asked me to make her Invitations today, and I told her, no..I Know What a Bro huh...I am going to do her invites and I will do her save the date cards I just want to make sure I do them right, and I don't want anything thrown on me last minute like she tried to do today, and that made me say no..because I told my pops Im not doing anything last minute because your invites are a big part of anything that you do...But I will support her just b/c she is my sister, But im not going to allow myself to be played like a yo-yo...I have rules baby..and if we can't agree then oh well..just like she has rules..I do...I don't know where her brains went I have to search for them somewhere..I can't stand seeing her being toyed with..Okay done venting...

I'm finally back from my long break and today just happened to be super warm and cozy outside out of the blue since its been feeling all muggy, cold, and windy and I've been pretty much sick cept while in the process I started feeling dizzy and I sat down on the floor cause I got a migrane and I simply didn't have any strength but at least I was able to shoot, I really need to get out of my 4 walls
anyways I was tagged by Victoria Screams so here it goes
1. I'm obsessed with water, I usually drink around 5 water bottles a day I simply can't stand soda I feel like it burns my throat, but if I happen to find a vanilla coke laying around I'll chug it down but sadly I haven't found any in a while so water it is ( I also love coffee but I'm trying not to drink lots of it as well as chai tea)
2. I have freckles on my hands and nobody believes me until they see them
they randomly appeared out of the blue one day and more keep coming up
3. uhmm...I have soo many scars since I'm extremely clumsy and I never cover them up so I get random people asking me to tell them the story of every one of my scars
4. I love looking out the window when I'm on a plane and seeing how curly and puffy the clouds really are which you can't see from the ground up
5. I get distracted really easily, and I'm not really kidding I can be talking all deeply about one thing and if something catches my attention well I'm out of it pretty much
6. I absolutely hate my dad for alot of reasons and I prefer not talking about him unless I really know you and open up enough to let you know what goes on in my life
7. I tend not to trust people,and I might seem to have alot of friends but I don't really consider them close
8. I'm basically scared of everything and panic really easily
9. I love using things that smell like apples
10. I'm a natural joyful person I'm usually laughing or lost in thought and I never see the glass half full or empty I just see it half way
11. I had a real hard time thinking of stuff to put in this :b
sooo now I have to tag 10 people...hmmm
haha tornado now a slight vegas breeze with a few hick ups... so i should be back at it this week ...xoxo
You decide to take just a few days off ...it turns into weeks ... then months ... Suddenly it's really hard to find the time to start up again !!
On the plus side I have taken many, many photographs over the last 6 months. Surely there must be one or two good ones in there ... if only I had more time to finish processing them all ;-)
Now ... off to catch up with old friends ...
This was taken back in April on the seafront at Port de Sóller on the North coast of Mallorca. It was late afternoon on our first day, and we'd already had a quite a few beers ... I got some odd looks taking this ;-)

My account has been expired for longer than I'd like to admit but I'm back! I have been picking up the camera on occasion and I plan on coming back to to my Flickr family <3
I've been away for quite a while and I imagine I'll have missed a lot of wonderful pictures on here. I'll probably not ever catch up either!!
I don't have much of a reason for not being around either except I seem to be run off my feet at work and at home. I never managed to finish my 52 week project for Joseph which I regret but I still got some lovely images of him along the way.
So I'm hoping to be able to concentrate on the things I love - my family, my jewellery, my photography and my 2 new found loves - crochet and marine fish!! I thought this was a fitting picture to mark the occassion :-)
To all you guys I hope to be around a bit more and sharing some of the above things with you.

Day One: December 13th, 2006.
Starting over. I made it to 40 days in the 365 day project until an expected trip to the hospital ended my streak. I went back and forth between being encouraged to pick back up and being discouraged from even remaining a member of the group. Back and forth. Back and forth.
Well, I'm back!
I haven't taken as many self-portraits over the past week or so but I have taken enough to start over with the project. I've decided December 13th is a good starting point or re-starting point to be more precise.
I was released from the hospital the day before and had less than 24 hours to pull myself together and get ready for my trip to St. Paul where I was going to meet my sister and hang out for a couple days before we both headed back to Duluth.
Shattered. That describes my emotional state rather well. At that time and actually still.
It's been 4 months that i haven't uploaded. After a serious damage to my hardrive, i have lost last years' photos. :-(
Depression is over.
I'm back with new photos.
Today!
I made the big move today, 4 hours and 230+ miles and now i'm settled into my new apartment and all the paperwork is done and i can leagally say its mine until May 1st (at least thats how long my rent covers)
but its nice after the very helpful and loving mama and papa got a few things its turning up to be a cozy little place. I will def take some pictures and post them for you all eventually.
Sorry for the Crap Day 1, it was a busy long hectic day and i remembered to take a photo and start J365Y2 at around 10PM
so I'm back and I couldn't be more excited for this new chapter to unfold in my life. Busy weekend, and work on Monday.

I figured that my return to 365ness should be a badass picture. So I put on a corset and checked out what it would look like if I pierced my lip. Hot Right? Or at least I can attempt the "hot" look...

These past few weeks have been crazy. I've been going through a breakup and trying to find out who I am as a person. I was in a really long relationship, it's definitely a change to be alone for once. I am getting back to the things I love: friends, family and photography. It feels good to take photos for just no reason. I am finally done moping. I am making the conscious decision to be happy and not dwell on everything. Photography has saved me yet again.
UPDATE:
My new kitten just broke my 50mm lens, but I ordered a new one. So I won't start taking new photos until Thursday or so...

Looks like after a long time being so behind at photography and endless apathetic days, inspiration is knocking on my door again.

Well i know it's been a while since ive been on here and i should explain myself. Although i said i would continue with my 365 last monday, so much came up i could not even think about doing it. I have loads of overtime at work and loads to do at home, holidays to book, my life to sort out......it;s all been very disorientating. Then to add to this my lens busted! I only have my macro lens to use till it's repaired but i don't want to just bust out all close up shots as i love variety, so i will try my best to come up with some ideas but if i dont get the time as there's still loads on, i do apologise. I know ive been absent from your streams of recent guys and again i apologise but hopefully things will calm down shortly. Thanks for being so patient and i hope to be back in action soon, I know ive got a lot to catch up to!!!
Oh and before i forget, if your free on Saturday 20th March im heading into London to do some photos hopefully with MWImages so please come along if you can as the more the merrier. Just message me for details. :)
