A shot from the early days of my railway photography “career” when I am shooting black and white using a cheap non SLR Haminex “point and shoot” camera, with poor depth of field and poor focus around the edges of the frame. Here is 86011 standing at the head of an express (most likely 1A57, a service to Euston) at Liverpool Lime Street sometime in 1974.
Locomotive History
86011 was originally E3171 and was built by English Electric at there Vulcan Foundry works, entering traffic in September 1965 for West Coast Main Line duties. It became 86011 in the 1973 TOPS renumbering scheme, 86311 when fitted with modified wheels in October 1980 and 86411 when fitted with improved suspension in the late 1980’s. In early 1990’s the majority of the Class 86/4 subclass were dedicated to freight traffic. As a result, they had their electric train heating isolated and their maximum speed reduced to 75mph. These locomotives were reclassified as class 86/6, with 86411 becoming 86611. In November 2003 it was withdrawn and was broken up HNRC on site at Crewe works in January/February 2005.

When you're dancing you're fantastic
all you're dressed in is elastic.
You make art with twirts and spins
can't wait till the show begins.
Anyone can see...
This is a song from a German pop band called "The Twins". They had one album in 1983 and this is their most popular single "Ballet Dancer". I had this song in my mind when I shot this photo.
Check out the video but please don´t laugh ;-) I really like the guy´s suit on the left :)

From time to time I set myself the task of taking a number of photographs, within a 24 hour period, with a common theme of one letter of the alphabet.
