The sun lights up the trees on the far bank looking like fire beyond the mist. Oh the joys of a cypress lake!

Minutes before daybreak, the canyons begin to emerge from the darkness and a lonely traveler navigates the switchbacks up the hills.
For six word story.
Other six word stories to go with this image:
- Five, four, three, two, one - ignition.
- After years of inertia, he imploded.
- First, his intestines started to glow.
- Anger was building up inside him.
These brilliant ones were added by the ever inventive m@pestaartje:
- ready to shoot or be shot
- will we ever know the answer
Cor blimey mister, strike a light...
Sorry for being so bad with commenting at the moment. I promise I'll catch up later. :)

Day 90 of 365
+1 in comments After uploading the photo to Flickr, later added text in photoshop, but it then created another copy in Lightroom!! Need to figure this out next time, to retain the same image name in LR after roundtrip to PS. Any idea??
Anyway, added the alternate version in comments.

Taken during a macro/closeup shoot held by the Cincinnati Camera and Photography Club Meetup group at the Fernald Preserve Visitors Center in Harrison, Ohio. The object of this shot was to catch the moment of ignition. Shooting in burst mode, this is the third image. I thought it was more interesting than the actual moment the match ignited.
Darth Vader: Impressive. Most impressive. Your lightsaber is invincible!
The Emperor: Patience, my friend. In time you will understand the true power of the Dark Side.
Darth Vader: As you wish.
Darth Vader: [Darth Vader's mechanical breathing here]
Yeah, it was fun to do this. Seriously! And all this is all in-camera, except the watermark on the left corner...
Taking pictures of igniting matches was so much fun (even if I only did that during 10 minutes), that I show one more. This one is cool, because you can see what happens during the ignition, sparkles and smoke are ejected, and the flame is also quite crazy.
I used the flash once again

This week's Macro Mondays effort on the theme of Plugs and Jacks. Have tried to think outside the box on this one, but it does fit the brief of 'an attached cable for electricity or data transport' as spark plugs are connected to ht leads to deliver electricity to the combustion chamber of an engine. Anyhoo, HMM y'all!
I tried to take pictures of the ignition of a match, and that is the first picture I got, I'm quite happy about it.
I used the macro lens and the flash from behind left.
I didn't rework the picture, just the standard contrast and color adjustments!

For my very good Flickr friend, Rich Eye, whose work is always fascinating and often stunning. While sadly committing only part-time to the solitary existence of the Northwoods, credit is given for actually being closer to Thoreau in Maine, while serious demerits must be given for maintaining some incomprehensible interest in Manhattan. I'll give the former Ivy League professor a grade of B...maybe B+ overall...;-) Anyone who taught and wrote about Tolstoy is okay by me. Вот к Вам, моему хорошему другу...
The series represents only full rotation...something Rich might appreciate...

The flash is coming from the right, I lit the match using a lighter and shot the photo halfway through the ignition.
