A remodel of red phone box with updated services
Everyday Icon is a prototypal response to the vague values of red phone boxes. It emerged from an observation of K2 and K6 units on London streets, particularly how they are used today, and has been developed through a research on various perspectives to judge their values. Red phone boxes are currently disused, misused and abused. While the operator British Telecom has been trying to remove them for such reasons, conservationists rather blindly oppose the attempt.
Everyday Icon as a product aims to balance use value and iconic one of red phone boxes in an indirect way. Installed adjacent to the originals, it will provide visual similarity as well as functional difference. As a proposition, rather evocative than provocative, it is to engage the public in a debate on the removal-or-preservation issue over red phone boxes.

Image Craft's ICON Themed Environments division created this new suite of office furniture, custom designed for our recently expanded Colorado office, now located in Centennial.
Shown here in various stages of production are a reception desk, media wall with podium, conference room table, storage and display credenzas, and more! The furnishings, primarily composed of shop ply and MDF, feature a zebra wood laminate with folkstone gray and matte black laminate work surfaces.
This project was produced entirely in-house in our Phoenix headquarters, from design to fabrication, and ultimately, through on-site installation. Backlit lettering and graphics are also part of the overall concept, and will be the final addition. We'll add more photos here as the project progresses.
