The Mujeres Adelante IVLP program brought 14 women from Latin America to learn about ways that people in Seattle and Washington D.C. prevent and treat victims of gender-based violence.
International visitors from Latin America and the Caribbean met on August 22 with Department officials to discuss "Citizen Security in the Americas." The visitors are in the United States on a three-week exchange program to examine best practices for community-based approaches to violence prevention.
This IVLP participant from Tanzania wanted her picture taken with these wings here in Orlando after the meeting with The LGBTQ+ Center Orlando. For the short time in the United States, Yasmin felt freedom unlike what is granted to her in her home country. Entrant: Heather van Dyk, Project Manager, WorldOrlando.

The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program.
