I spotted a Mink at the local wildlife trust this morning while testing out my new Canon 60D and 400mm canon lens. It's a shame that these animals are so destructive to native wildlife. I let the warden at the trust know, so I assume they'll be putting out a trap.

Shot with Nikon D300 @ ISO3200 with 18-200mm VR
This is also my 1st night assignment with Nikon D300...I am really amazed by the respond and the image quality at high ISO.
Fun with the 5DII (and ISO 3200) while the bf was getting coffee :-) It's a super fun toy.
Happy Friday! (HNFF!)
It's like, so lacking in noise, as compared to my camera at 3200.
I was told by an Illinois bug group that Tropical Milkweed isn't native to the Midwest, and thus couldn't be used in their campaign to save the Monarchs. Perhaps it isn't native -- I'll bet a lot of garden flowers are not -- but it can be found in gardens all over Iowa. It thrives in the Midwest, even if the purity patrol turns up a haughty nose at it.
This Bumblebee doesn't care.
The Peregrine Falcon is renowned for its speed. It can reach over 320 km/h (200 mph) during its characteristic hunting stoop (high-speed dive) making it the fastest member of the animal kingdom. As is typical for bird-eating (avivore) raptors, peregrine falcons are sexually dimorphic, with females being considerably larger than males.

Single frame taken with a Canon 50mm F/1.8 - 10sec exp ISO3200. This lens only cost me $90 on ebay, what a bargain! No wonder many refer to this lens as their 'Nifty Fifty'.

The beaches got some nice fog during a lapse in the rain last night. I headed out there when I saw the fog starting to appear.
In the back of the park the lights from the hockey rink lit up the fog perfectly.
Taibilla Castle or Taibona, of Muslim origin, was raised on a rock overlooking the valley. It is perched on a rocky plateau near the river Taibilla, 7 km. of the town of Nerpio.
Data, as written documentation, the eleventh century. Reconquered in 1242 by Christian knights of the Order of Santiago, they settled in the newly created him Commendation of Taibilla. During time was the frontier of Christendom with the Kingdom of Granada.
Taibilla Fortress is part of a network of military checkpoints that meet a purely defensive role, complete with a regional network of small towers in Yetas, Xutia, Turrilla and Vizcable.
The strategic value and importance of the enclave are revealed when Pope Innocent VII in 1836 from Avignon, issued a papal bull calling for the defense, among others, Taibilla Castle. With the taking of Granada in 1492 and the consequent disappearance of the border, the region gains in stability and Taibilla loses its defensive and military function until the early sixteenth century its use was abandoned definitively.
