Crater Lake National Park
Crater Lake is a caldera lake in south-central Oregon in the western United States. It is the main feature of Crater Lake National Park and is famous for its deep blue color and water clarity. The lake partly fills a nearly 2,148-foot (655 m) deep caldera that was formed around 7,700) years ago by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama. There are no rivers flowing into or out of the lake; the evaporation is compensated for by rain and snowfall at a rate such that the total amount of water is replaced every 250 years. With a depth of 1,949 feet (594 m), the lake is the deepest in the United States.
Llanddwyn Island (Ynys Llanddwyn) is a magical place. Located at the far end of a pleasant beach near Newborough Warren, this narrow finger of land is an ideal picnic site during fine weather, but also an exhilarating place when the winter winds blow. Its rolling dunes, large rock outcrops and mixture of historic buildings makes it an ideal place for an afternoon of exploration

I had to delete the panorama of Keefer Lake that I posted yesterday ... it prevented me from posting new photos. Anyone putting very wide panoramas on Flickr should be aware that even though it may upload and display it may cause problems with subsequent posts. Thanks to everyone who faved and commented on the photo ... sorry I had to delete the image.
Here is yet another of Keefer Lake - the view from my boat dock taken just prior to sunset.
Cheers!

Magnificent sight as the sharp, brown rocks are diving into the green-blue sea.
Spirit Island is a tiny island in Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park. Actually, for most of the year it is connected to the shore by a narrow isthmus and not technically an island. Only with heavy spring rains and snow melt does the water level rise enough to cut off the island from the lake shore.
The island is a spiritual place for the Stoney Nakoda First Nation, who believe mountains are physical representations of their ancestors. Spirit Island is surrounded on three sides by the same mountain range, a very rare arrangement which makes it particularly significant to the Stoney.

Island Saddle lies on the Canterbury and Marlborough regional line. It is the highest point of publicly accessed roads in New Zealand. It's 1347m or about 4420 feet.
Winter sunsets take a bit of motivation to brave the cold after the sun has gone down. In this case it was well after sunset... a view of Chantry Island in Lke Huron.
As mentioned on episode 01, Thousand Islands consists of a string of 110 islands stretching 45 km (28 mi) north into the Java Sea at West Jakarta Bay and north of Banten Province. The beauty level of Thousand Islands are vary: not beautiful, mediocre, beautiful, very beautiful, and more. The farther to north, the more beautiful the island become. I've explored some islands of Thousand Islands and this is the northest and most beautiful island of thousands island in my opinion :)
See you next week, or after next week. Have a great weekend my friends :)

Well I sort of apologise here after having this crazy dream of Maria Island and as I spent virtually all night working on this crazy dream I thought I'd better at least share it for the good or for the bad of it !.

Went to walk the river trail, but the woods were too dark. Went to the lake to watch the sunset, but the reflections were more spectacular.
Another trip I made this year was the one to Cape Verde, and another destination I almost forgot. Earlier I posted this shot www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/53532653670/in/album-..., taken from the Monte Gordo mountain on the island of Sao Nicolau, and this shot is also taken there.
It is slightly further uphill, and it shows the view towards the north west. In the distance the islands of Sao Vincente and Sao Nicolau are visible. If you want to travel to these islands from here you need to take a ferry.
The island fox (Urocyon littoralis) is a small fox species that is endemic to six of the eight Channel Islands of California. There are six subspecies, each unique to the island it lives on, reflecting its evolutionary history. They are generally docile, show little fear of humans, and are easily tamed. Island foxes played an important role in the spiritual lives of native Channel Islanders. They have been likely semi-domesticated as pets, used as pelts, or for other functions, like pest control.
The island fox is significantly smaller than the related gray fox, and is the smallest fox in North America, averaging slightly smaller than the swift (Vulpes velox) and kit foxes (Vulpes macrotis). Typically, the head-and-body length is 48–50 cm (19–19.5 in), shoulder height 12–15 cm (4.5–6 in), and the tail is 11–29 cm (4.5–11.5 in) long, which is notably shorter than the 27–44 cm (10.5–17.5 in) tail of the gray fox. This is due to the fact that the island fox generally has two fewer tail vertebrae than the gray fox. The island fox weighs between 1 and 2.8 kg (2.2 and 6.2 lb). The species exhibits sexual dimorphism: the male is always larger than the female. The largest of the subspecies occurs on Santa Catalina Island and the smallest on Santa Cruz Island.
The island fox has gray fur on its head, a ruddy red coloring on its sides, white fur on its belly, throat and the lower half of its face, and a black stripe on the dorsal surface of its tail. In general the coat is darker and duller hued than that of the gray fox. The island fox molts once a year between August and November. Before the first molt pups are woolly and have a generally darker coat than adult foxes. A brown phase, with the grey and black fur of the body replaced by a sandy brown and a deeper brown, may occur in the San Clemente Island and San Nicolas Island populations. It is unclear if this is a true color phase, a change that occurs with age, or possibly a change that occurs because of interactions with Opuntia cactus spines that become embedded in the pelt.
