Touring in Chora will fill you with unique pictures. White houses, cobblestone pavements painted with icons from life in the island, small churches and mills create a perfect scenery.
I keep getting drawn to this little island in Loch Assynt. The trees are all dead, maybe as a result of changing the Loch level, but I keep coming back to photograph it. This weekend, when I was in the area taking photos of stars I thought a starry sky might make a nice backdrop. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!

"Just take a pebble and cast it to the sea
Then watch the ripples that unfold into me
My face spill so gently into your eyes
Disturbing the waters of our lives
Shreads of our memories are lying on your grass
Wounded words of laughter are graveyards of the past
Photographs are grey and torn, scattered in your fields
Letters of your memories are not real
Well, sadness on your shoulders like a wornout overcoat
In pockets creased and tattered hang the rags of your hope
The daybreak is your midnight, the colours have all died
Disturbing the waters of our lives,
Of our lives, lives, lives"

The big island and the lighthouse are from trip photos of mine; the other embellishments are from Picsart.
We made it here on a kayak and a canoe. It was a tough paddle for 4.5 hours, so we started with the sunrise to bit the unpredictable winds on Lake Maligne, with only one stop for 15 minutes. Do I have big muscles? Nope! You can make it too! We met a few canoeists on the way there, and they were singing “Yellow Submarine” to add to the rhythm of paddling. What a treat and motivational tool to keep paddling!!! We started singing too. I guess, it helps to be determined to get to your destination. It just gets easier!!! Enjoy it!
Thanks for your visits, favs and comments. As always, appreciated very much!

Highest per acre population of bears in the world! Fortunately we stayed on the beach and had no bear encounters.

The island of Aegina is one of the most popular tourist destinations as it is the closest island to Athens (only 16.5 nautical miles from the port of Piraeus).
According to the myth, the island took its name from a nymph, daughter of the river god Asopos, whom Zeus fell in love with and took with him to the island!
Spirit Island is the iconic Canadian Rocky Mountains landmark on Maligne Lake.
It is located at the far end of the lake and the only way to get there is by charter boat or private non-motorized vessel.
It is definitely worth the trip, as the scenery really is magnificent.
The only problem is that they allow you only about 10 minutes on the island for taking pictures, so there is not a lot of scouting for good locations, so a lot of pictures are all similar to each other.
Beautiful, none-the-less.

There are significant weight restrictions for flying into Union Island and I don't have a compact travel tripod so I did the whole trip with just a 13" table top tripod. It worked better than I expected and forced me to work from a new, lower point of view.

The beach of Kolona is basically a narrow strip of land that connects Kythnos to the islet of Agios Loukas. However, it has a particular charm, partly due to its fine, golden sand and the sea lapping at both of its sides.
