Lopndon's O2 Arena on Greenwich Peninsula yesterday on a perfect Spring Sunday.

The Milky Way cloud appears in detail over Morro dos Cabritos, a 900-meter-high mountain in the Vale dos Frades region, in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is a rural area categorized as class 3 on the Bortle scale.

The Bortle scale is a numerical rating system that assesses the darkness and visibility of the night sky. It consists of nine levels, ranging from Class 1 (the darkest skies) to Class 9 (severe light pollution). Each class on the scale describes specific characteristics and features of the sky.

In Bortle Class 3, the sky conditions exhibit relatively limited light pollution. Here are some notable features of a Bortle 3 sky:

Moderate Light Pollution: Bortle 3 skies experience some degree of light pollution, typically from nearby towns or cities. While not as severe as in more populated areas, the presence of artificial lighting affects the overall darkness and visibility of the sky.

Milky Way Visibility: In Bortle 3 skies, the Milky Way, our galaxy, is visible as a prominent band stretching across the sky. While it may not be as vivid and detailed as in darker sky conditions, the core of the Milky Way and its brighter sections can still be observed.

Good Star Clarity: Bortle 3 skies offer reasonably clear views of individual stars. While some fainter stars may be less visible due to light pollution, the overall brilliance and clarity of the stellar display remain impressive. Constellations and their brighter stars are easily identifiable.

Observable Nebulae and Galaxies: Deep-sky objects, such as nebulae and galaxies, can be observed in Bortle 3 skies. While the presence of light pollution may affect the visibility of fainter objects, brighter and more prominent nebulae and galaxies should still be visible. The details and structures of these celestial objects can be appreciated with the right equipment.

Zodiacal Light: Bortle 3 skies allow for occasional sightings of the zodiacal light. This faint glow appears as a pyramid-shaped illumination along the ecliptic and is caused by sunlight reflecting off interplanetary dust particles. In darker areas of the Bortle 3 zone, the zodiacal light may be more visible.

Meteor Shower Observations: Bortle 3 skies are suitable for observing meteor showers. While some light pollution may affect the visibility of faint meteors, brighter meteors and fireballs should still be visible. Clear nights during meteor showers can offer memorable viewing experiences.

Overall, Bortle 3 skies provide a relatively darker and clearer viewing environment compared to higher Bortle classes. Although some light pollution is present, stargazers and astronomers can still enjoy a range of celestial objects and phenomena, including the Milky Way, individual stars, nebulae, galaxies, zodiacal light, and meteor showers.

........................................................................................................................................................The Earth is a grain of sand in the Ocean

Among countless worlds.

And we are not just Earthlings,

If we hear the interplanetary call.

And if the wings are for flight

Managed to straighten and take off —

There is no more perfect starship

The magnet of the earth to overcome....In order, all the planets

Any of us will call:

Time — Mercury,

Two — Venus,

Three — Earth,

Four - Mars.

Five — Jupiter,

Six — Saturn,

Seven is Uranus,

followed by Neptune.

He is the eighth in a row.

And then,

later, the ninth planet

Called Pluto.

Well, it DOES sort of look like some kind of Sci-Fi radio telescope transmitter thing-a-ma-bob.

Arguably one of my harder builds. Not only in the nit-picking department, but also the searching for and waiting on some quite rare and specific parts.

Also this was one of the harder to photograph builds I ever did. I ended up shooting outside on a cloudy day because indoors just wasn't feasible with basically only an iphone at hand.

I'm very pleased with the result though :)

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft...

My selfless devotion to rooting out the truth about the invasion of Earth from beings from another planet has once again been justified as I have no doubt that I've discovered their landing ships turned living quarters that they dwell in as they adapt to our atmosphere and gravity. These 'comfort stations' found on Coney Island will surely be appearing in heavily populated areas near you. Keep on the lookout and notify your local S.I.M.P.L.E. (Space Invaders Monitoring and Protective League Entente) should you encounter these sinister structures or anything with these strange alien markings. I'm going in for a closer look, if you don't hear back from me it's been swell kids.

Story:

Captured in the heart of the Jalapão region, this panoramic nightscape reveals the raw beauty of Brazil’s Cerrado under a pristine Bortle 1 sky. Dominating the scene is the luminous arch of the Milky Way, stretching from one horizon to the other, its core glowing with interstellar dust, emission nebulae, and countless stars. The reddish tones near the galactic center are enhanced by the use of a modified sensor, revealing prominent H-alpha regions like the Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae.

To the right, a striking column of Zodiacal Light rises—sunlight scattered by interplanetary dust—perfectly aligned with the ecliptic. Subtle green and red hues of airglow add a surreal touch to the lower sky, interacting with the warm tones of the dunes and the reflecting waters of the meandering stream. Buriti palms and native vegetation complete the composition, grounding this celestial spectacle in the unique landscape of the Brazilian savanna.

This image is not a blend but a multi-frame panorama, precisely captured to preserve the spatial relationships of both the terrestrial and astronomical elements. A technical and artistic tribute to one of the darkest skies in South America.

It is an interesting place to visit. Over the two hours that we were there the main dish was slowly rotating. It was impossible to detect by eye, but with comparison of the photos over the two hours, it actually moved a long way.

I popped out last night given the aurora forecast and the warning of the interplanetary shock too. It was just about visible to the eye from on top of the hill but I didn't last long, at near freezing, to stay up till 4am for the better show. Nice to be able to see it from our house.

There back!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hurray.............HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Bedford Starfighters Wing soar right overhead after stopping the Commercialistic Deathmoon from blowing up the planet. Once again the brave men and women of the Pakistani Starfleet has spared Earth and it's interplanetary colonies from a less than desirable fate by the dark hand of the monopolistic might of the Dark Corporate Empire. Crowds cheer in celebration across all seven continents and beyond as the world is liberated and once again free to pursue their dreams. It would have not been possible without the Pakistani Starfleet, Kabul Galactic Command, UNIPASA, friends, planetary and interstellar comrades that work as a team and stay together to see another day of prosperity.

Last night's aurora was pretty spectacular. more to follow....

I didn't realize that Uber now offers interplanetary services.

The original photo was taken at Sheboygan's Kiwanas Park near the Sheboygan River with my iPhone 11. The otherworldly effects were added by using Photofox's Surreal Skies component.

The Interplanetary Shock arrived

This was one of those moments when I wondered if the camera could capture what I was seeing. The main light caught my eye with a subtle iridescence radiating outwards and pulsating with an energy like a Van Gogh painting.

There might have been a lot of factors at play here, cold damp air, my long sightedness, and although this is a decent enough shot, even with editing it doesn't come close

Sleeping Pandora ~ Interplanetary Mediation

I had just settled in to photograph the aurora when three young people showed up on the beach and parked themselves not very far from me - not a problem until they turned on some music. Normally I would have found this disturbance of the peace very annoying - but soon the sounds of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen came to my ears, and I found myself singing along, photographing the aurora, quite surreal!

This was quite a strong aurora, due to an interplanetary shock wave of solar particles that had just struck the earth - got a red alert from Glendale Skye Auroras for a strong geomagnetic storm, so I dashed out the door. Didn't see much for the first little while, then quite suddenly, a bright patch appeared on the horizon visible to the naked eye (this comes out as bright yellow on the camera which can capture the colours with a long exposure) so I knew the aurora was getting going. It was also possible to see the rays of the aurora at their brightest. Sadly, the young people on the shore would not have noticed anything at all except for a strange person waving a headtorch around and singing Bohemian Rhapsody.

The photo was taken standing over a tidal pool on the shore of Broadford Bay, Isle of Skye.

This image was recently selected for the feature 'Your Pictures of Scotland' on the BBC Scotland webpage.

My Interplanetary Memories

Interplanetary Travel

The sound of the city was still ringing in my ears. While I was walking on the gray stone pavement of the city, listening to the mingled sounds of the city, I was observing the people. People wearing the most beautiful clothes and walking with their loved ones, lovers walking by holding hands and looking at each other with eyes full of love, a cute and young girl waiting for her friends at the corner of the pavement. And many more that catch my eye that evening. Me? I am walking alone that evening. Just like any other evening and day. My life in space has been affecting my dreams for a long time. I started to live my loneliness in space in my dreams. Yes, at first this was not a problem for me at all. Before I embarked on this space mission, I went through a lot of tests for this condition. Before embarking on a space mission, I had distanced myself from all social circles to get used to the feeling of loneliness. I started living alone. And after a while I even stopped communicating with people. In this way, I prepared myself for this space travel for a few years. Living away from people while I was in the world had made me very accustomed to loneliness. Social interactions, friends, and love were completely erased from my mind as I embarked on my space voyage. I was more than ready for this deep space expedition. It really worked for me a lot. Even though I spent a long time alone in the depths of space and on planets where no living things lived, I was happy and peaceful. I never felt alone. The feeling of loneliness did not even occur to me. Everything was going well. Until the last year and a half. According to world time, the feeling of loneliness has taken over my body and soul very quickly for the last one and a half years. I couldn't help but think that I was so alone. Yes, I was so alone. I didn't even need to say that to myself. Listening to the extreme silence around me was enough to realize that I was alone. My human feelings were starting to come alive again. All my emotions were coming back to life one by one. As a result, I had not destroyed any of my feelings. I had just put my emotions into a deep sleep. And now they were all waking up. I wanted to spend time with my friends again, I wanted to chat with them until the morning, and when it was morning, I wanted to get into that ice-cold sea and sober up. I wanted to fall in love again, and spend hours looking into the eyes of the girl I fell in love with. While my girlfriend was sleeping, I wanted to watch her innocent and peaceful body until daybreak. In the morning, I wanted to say hello to the day by stepping on the grass in my garden with bare feet. But I was far from all that. In the endless void of dark space, I was waiting for the dream I was going to see next, taking note of the dreams I had in my spaceship. That's the only thing I did. To wait...

Venus, Mercury, and the Zodiacal Light. This was taken just before dawn on the Great Barrier Island, New Zealand. The island is a Dark Sky Sanctuary, and amazingly dark. Since the planets Venus and Mercury are closer to the sun than earth, you are looking sunward to see then. As a result the best dark times to see them are just before dawn or just after sunset. This was just before dawn. What caught my attention was how well the Zodiacal light showed up at this time. When seen just before dawn it’s called the “False Dawn”. It’s a faint diffuse roughly triangular light or glow that appears to extend from the sun along the zodiac, straddling the ecliptic. It is caused by sunlight scattered by interplanetary dust in the plane of the dolor system. (Wikipedia) I thought it showed up nicely here. Check out the labeled image as well. This is a stack of 10 images stacked in SLS, 23 mm, 15 sec., f/2.8, ISO 12,800. Many thanks to Carol @darkskysanctuary for guiding me there and drawing my attention to to planets that night. Carol, you are a great guide! Cheers, Wayne

Exoplanet Orbiting Two Stars

My Interplanetary Memories

Interplanetary Travel

A sea of clouds surrounding me on the exoplanet. And the blue planet rising above it. That planet also had two suns. Everything was quite suitable for life on this planet with double suns. Its correct position to the sun made this planet highly habitable. However, unfortunately, this planet was also recorded as another planet that they left after being chosen as a habitat by the plutonians for a while. The dark force that followed them and made them leave the planets had not left them on this planet either. I was very curious about this dark force that frightens a civilization with technology advanced enough to migrate between planets. On the other hand, I had a growing fear of this dark power. However, this fear also increased my curiosity towards this dark power. I wanted to find the Plutonian civilization and the dark force that frightened them and was so terrifying that it would push them to abandon their planet. When I found the Plutonian civilization, I did not know how they would welcome me. Perhaps they would be hostile. Perhaps they would accept me and make me a member of civilization. The only thing I am sure of is the fact that I am traveling into the unknown in the depths of space.

The Quandry Chronicles Book One: The Lost Scarab of the Aethernauts! is an illustrated pulp adventure inspired by the tabletop gaming system Space: 1889 and shot in Second Life. Narrated in sessions like a tabletop campaign, QC will post weekly on Fridays, unless I get a bit ahead of myself :)

Tatsu glided through the crowd at the Crystal Palace, trying to determine who her future teammates were. Two were obvious: a tall man, clearly an ex-soldier, probably a veteran of Egyptian campaigns – the un-British tan was a clear giveaway. A tremendously awkward Indian man: the suit said “doctor,” but the chemical stains on his fingers indicated some sort of research scientist.

Oh! A remarkably tall British woman, dressed well but not nearly as finely as most, was examining the Egyptian photographs closely, holding her glasses out to peer through them. Clearly not a covert agent: something she saw made her squeal, bounce up and down, and run off in the direction of their rendezvous. Tatsu shrugged and followed her up the grand staircase.

***

Some twenty minutes later, introductions were made: Tatsu had spotted the entire group. The soldier seemed skeptical of the women but bonded with the other man, a veteran Army doctor who had seen action in Afghanistan.

The blonde, Cassiopeia, was talking a mile a minute to their host, who she clearly knew well.

“That that that – that’s what I think it is, isn’t it?” she said, hands wringing her purse. Their host nodded seriously, then broke into an immense smile. He gestured for her to continue.

“It’s a map of aether currents, all across the equator! With that – “

“The key to interplanetary travel,” Budge said. “And proof that your father was right: alien beings were present on Earth thousands of years ago.”

The soldier, Mainwaring, spoke up. “That sounds more valuable to the Empire than the Crown Jewels – should it just be sitting out in public for anyone to see?”

Budge nodded. “Young Cassie and I are two of a handful of people in the world who could identify those hieroglyphs. I saw that photograph as the exhibition was being installed: it would have been too suspicious to have it pulled. Instead – well, we have about ten minutes left.”

Budge made his pitch: an expedition to the recently unearthed ancient Egyptian city where the photo had been taken, a search for aether flight technology in the ruins. If word were to get out, agents from all the Great Powers would be after them.

The soldier, Mainwaring, smiled at the promise of danger, but asked why Tatsu, clearly not British, was along. Budge said there were understandings between Her Majesty and the Emperor of Japan, as both wanted to keep the keys to interplanetary flight from the Russians and Germans. The Foreign Office had approved the team.

At that Mainwaring growled. “My brother, you mean.”

Budge nodded. “He spoke very highly of your qualifications for an expedition to Egypt.”

The soldier grumped. “You mean he spoke well of getting me a thousand miles from London and our family.”

Budge shrugged and checked his pocket watch. “You needn’t give me your answers tonight. Come visit me in my offices in the Museum when you’re ready, and I can brief you further. There’s much to plan. But for now, best we all be on our way, as – “

An alarm bell clanged deafeningly as screams arose from the floor below.

Budge said, “I’m afraid there’s a fire in the exhibit: photographic plates are so flammable, and if someone were careless with a cigar…”

Mainwaring stood, bowed, and escorted the ladies downstairs and out onto the grounds, laughing uproariously as flames rose through the huge glass building.

Dark Time of The Planet

My Interplanetary Memories

Interplanetary Travel

I was finishing another day on a new planet. At the end of the day, I start to enjoy the moment by climbing to the top of the mountain I am on to watch the sunset. The scenery is so perfect that I see that the camera I set up to record the sunset on video only takes a single frame photo instead of a video when the sunset is over. I was only able to take a single frame photo instead of a video with excitement and surprise in the face of that extraordinary sunset view. Although the photo frame I took was enough to show how unusual and unique the sunset was. However, I needed that video recording for some scientific analysis and detailed observations. I couldn't turn back time. I could sometimes make mistakes in my interplanetary travel. I said hello to the dark time of the planet, with billions of starscapes starting to become visible as the sun went down completely. The stars were so many and bright that it was impossible not to be enchanted by this unique landscape. It was as if the stars were turning the dark sky into a riot of colors and light. If I stretched my hand to the sky, it was as if they were close enough to touch the stars. Stardust surrounded them. They were in colorful pastel shades. I'm taking a few more photos. Then I lay back where I am and begin to watch the stars and the sight of stardust scattering from the dead stars. It never occurs to me to sleep in front of this unique star landscape. I'm almost losing myself. When I was on planet Earth, I could never see so many stars in the night sky. Interplanetary travel has blessed me with these unique cosmic landscapes. Maybe that's why I couldn't sleep at night. My soul refused to sleep in the face of these enormous cosmic landscapes. Maybe I was deliberately refusing to sleep. In my dreams, I was reliving the memories of living in the world over and over again. I was seeing the streets I lived in in my dreams. I dreamed of the woman I fell in love with. And this was giving me emotional pain when I woke up. I am aware that my emotional conflicts are increasing. I couldn't decide. Should I go back to earth? Or should I continue this deep space journey that I've embarked on? The purpose of my space travel was to find habitable planets. In fact, I had found enough planets suitable for living. But I had a new mission for myself. Finding the lost Plutonian civilization. For some reason I was obsessed with this lost civilization. I really wanted to find them. Only when I found them would I find out what had happened to the Plutonian civilization and why they had left their planet. In this way, I would also be able to learn why the planets I had visited, which were quite suitable for life but had no life on them, were so quiet. But at the same time, my human feelings began to revive. This situation was very challenging for me. I had a desire to return to the world. Could I go back to the world and start all over again? I could not find an answer to these questions in my head. Both were decisions that required a lot of courage. And I was getting more and more discouraged. This made it difficult for me to decide. What in the world was waiting for me? It scared me that I would start everything from scratch. Would I be able to adapt to life on Earth again? Would I be able to communicate with people? Will I be able to fall in love again? Would I be able to start a life again?

Questions, questions, questions...

I hope to be able to find answers to these questions as I continue to move towards my target new planet in dark deep space.

I Might Be Lost

My Interplanetary Memories

Interplanetary Travel

Sometimes I think I'm lost. Maybe I'm looking for myself on this trip I've taken. Maybe I'm looking for my lost life. During this time that I was missing, there were many things about life that I missed. None of them will be re-lived for me. They will remain in my mind as unforgettable memories. Memories that should have been lived but never lived. I don't remember exactly when I got lost. This journey I have embarked on has been a constant search for me. The search for a new life, a new existence. Maybe I would be able to exist again when I found what I was looking for in this endless vacuum of space. I could start life again. Maybe I wouldn't be able to get back the lost time. But I would be able to start feeling life again. I don't know exactly how this search will turn out. Maybe an even worse ending awaits me. I do not know. Maybe it's better for me to be lost.

Rebirth

My Interplanetary Memories

Interplanetary Travel

When I first received the offer of Interplanetary travel, I was quite excited. However, as I thought about this trip, a tremendous fear began to grip my body. This fear had grown to such an extent that it almost took over my entire body. It was a feeling of dread of the unknown. When I thought of myself alone in the unknown, the feeling of fear began to give way to worry. During this space travel, I started to think about all the bad scenarios that could happen to me. It was as if my thoughts were trying to dissuade me from this interplanetary journey. But all these negative thoughts encouraged me even more to go on this trip. The fear of the unknown made me even more curious about this trip. The fear and anxiety that surrounded my body could not stop me. Perhaps, at that time, my desire to escape from reality encouraged me to take this trip. So that I could get away from the real pain I was going through. All my pain would remain on planet Earth. I would be reborn in the dark void of space. All the facts that would affect my life would remain in the Earth's atmosphere. Thus, I would be able to continue living without the facts that could affect my life and perhaps end my life. That's how it happened. After leaving the atmosphere of planet Earth, a deep numbness filled my entire body. In time, I started to come to life again in that endless darkness and unmatched silence. As I progressed through deep space, my thoughts began to disappear.. I found myself in a deep nothingness. This nothingness kept me focused on my goal. Now I had only one purpose. Finding life!

Journey of No Return

My Interplanetary Memories

Interplanetary Travel

I was watching the distant galaxy view appearing at sunset. In the face of this scene, I began to ask myself new questions. Would I be able to find a planet with life in the star system I was in? In the galaxy where I was looking for life, would I be able to find other planets in the correct order to provide the environment suitable for life? Or would I begin my journey to a new galaxy? That would drive me further away from home. My chances of returning home would become even more impossible. Would I never see my home again? Would I ever see people again? Would my death be on my own? Would I die alone, without feeling any emotion again, in this endless void of space?

Time to Leave the Planet

Interplanetary Travel

Time to leave.

It's time for me to go. I'm leaving this planet. My adventure on this planet, which lasted 151 earth days, ends today. I could not find any trace of civilization on this planet which is suitable for life. There was no trace of the Plutonians. During this long process, I loaded the rock, soil, plant and water samples I had collected on the planet onto my spacecraft. Just as I have left on other planets I have visited, I am leaving a few items of myself on this planet. A photo of myself and a few small items of my visit to this planet. Items with my fingerprints on them. And a tube with my DNA sample in it. These are the pieces I left behind of myself. Just a little souvenir.

It's time to go now. Thank you for not leaving me alone in this discovery that lasted for 151 earth days. Although I am alone as I travel through outer space and on the planets I visit, I am aware that there are thousands of people following my discoveries. I try to share photos for you as much as I can. I hope the photos I shared are satisfactory for you. I'll post one last photo from this planet. By the time that photo is published, I will have already started traveling in outer space.

Stay tuned as I make my way to new discoveries.

A new style of building I have been wanting to try out for the past few months. Turned out well! This was partly inspired by .Tromas so I put that non-transparent cockpit on just for him. :D

leave this universe

My Interplanetary Memories

Interplanetary Travel

I guess it all started by starting to see her in my dreams. At first, I did not try to put a meaning into the dreams I had. But as the frequency of seeing her in my dreams increased, I began to realize something. Emotions that I had stopped feeling long ago were resurfacing. And this situation first began to take over my dreams. I started to create a dream world for myself in which I was happy. It was a fantasy world where I wasn't alone, I had friends and a wonderful girlfriend. My imagination was an escape area for myself. A world where I escaped my loneliness. My mind started to take over me more and more each day. Now, my mood was showing and some days I found myself crying. Sometimes I was frozen and dreaming. This was my first problem on my interplanetary trip. Before the last year and a half, I had no problems. Or so I thought. I guess I neglected myself too much. I forgot to ponder myself while I was exploring planets and space. I was just tracking my physical and biological health. However, my mental health was important for this space travel. I am suffering the consequences of this neglect of mine with deep spiritual suffering. I want to sleep all the time. I want to go into the deepest part of my sleep. I want to never wake up from my dreams and always live there. I want to live my dreams where everything is fine. But this is never possible. It's not in a situation where it's possible. I am looking for a way out of this mood. And there are two ways I can find this way out. Going back to planet Earth and starting everything from scratch. Or, to go off course and seek my own end in the endless darkness of space. Maybe the end I will live when I find the plutonians will be a new beginning for me. I still don't know what I should do. Should I start?
