someone used to stand here by me

and talk and wash and look at the tree

but now they are gone forever it seems

and now all I'm left with is my dreams ...

children would laugh and call out to me

hurry up Mum ~ what is for our tea ?

but now they have gone and all that is left

are memories stirred of the very best . . .

Oberammergau church interior

St Martin's in the Fields, Trafalgar Square, London.

I have walked past this church countless times and have visited the cafe in the crypt but this was the first time I actually went inside. It is stunning.

In 1542 Henry VIII rebuilt this church when it literally was "in the fields", but there has been a church on this site since the 1200s at least. James Gibb designed the present church in the early 1700s.

It was very wet in London and whilst parts of the Barbican were packed with people, this wasn't one of those parts.

Lured into what looked like a bar by "Coffee" in the window, I sat on a bar stool and had coffee & ice cream. A clarinetist played light music from a sunny window corner. There are many tables with books available. I've heard there are more books and antiques downstairs, plus a mining tunnel. Definitely going back here!

Grey morning in Salmon Arm

A new version of an upload I made earlier—sorry if your comment was lost! This is a Photoshop Merge to HDR Pro of six different exposures. It's pretty faithful to the feeling in my living room of strong afternoon sunlight; and yet you can still tell the lamp is on. The camera is a 1903 Rochester Optical Pony Premo, a whole plate (6.5 x 8.5-inch) self-casing camera.

Here is my collection of white vases which have been gradually accumulating. All have a milk white glaze and have been sourced from inexpensive stores in Canberra, Australia. Each cost between $3- $23.

Finally! I didn't like a very dramatic tone-mapping for this HDR panorama to keep it calm and smooth. Of course there were some stitching errors as usual but they were somehow easy to fix. Working with this took around 1h30m, including preparations, shooting, and packing again.
