Bateleur Eagles usually come down to the water in the middle of the day.
They are a colourful species with a very short tail which, together with its white underwing coverts, makes it unmistakable in flight. The tail is so small the bird's legs protrude slightly beyond the tail during flight.
Size: The average adult Bateleur is 55 to 70 cm long with a 186 cm wingspan. The wing chord averages approximately 51 cm. Adult weight is 2 to 2.6kg. (Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Botswana)

Often I find the other side of my origami tessellation also worthy to be treated like a frontside and having an own name, so let me introduce you to "Sapphire", the other side of Diamond.
Here you can see a more closer look of this pattern

For those who are interested, an extract from this afternoon's Journal entry.
"At 5 o'clock we were back on the road to Sousousvlei for the afternoon drive, along the way we saw Oryx and Ostriches. We stopped at dune number 45, I gave Ruby my Panasonic camera and she went off to take photos of wild flowers. I took close up shots of the sand dune and its environment.
Next we drove to dune number 47; this was a stunning landscape, especially in the afternoon light. We watched the sun set at dune 47, Ruby took photos of the sunset with one of my cameras, while I used another. Neither of us was interested in sharing drinks and nibbles, we were civil but an impossible gulf had opened between us.
I asked about taking a hot air balloon or a sightseeing flight the next morning. Ruby said I'd never get into the balloon basket and besides the next morning would be windy and unsuitable for ballooning. She was no longer interested in anything I wanted if I wasn’t interested in what she wanted me to do. She had also lost sight of the fact I was the client and she the guide. Her message was loud and clear.
Back at the camp we had Orix kebabs for dinner, tough as old leather and not at all tasty."

These 2 Caribou were as interested in us as we were in them. We were told that they had never seen humans before so didn't know what we were. It was wonderful to see these beautiful animals as they migrated through the area. Taken in Nunavut, Southern Arctic, Canada.
I asked the guide if they have ticks in the area because I noticed the bumps on the caribou's back. He said they were "Warble Flies" which can debilitate the animal.

This Buzzard was really at ease with me. He was more interested in catching earthworms as me! Normally he'd run to catch one, but this time he flied a small distance giving me the opportunity to make this shot while laying on the field.

Luckily, Jager never noticed.
I finally joined the Lightroom club after years of playing with other programs. Hate the idea of monthly payments but after losing some backups it might be worth it combined with the storage aspect.
Might be a little over processed but it was my first try. I may redo this once I get familiar with some of the powerful features.

They were very interested in the nest box on a nearby tree. Bit early for nesting but would be a cosy roost for the night.

The big church in Dordrecht is a fantastic find for anyone who is interested in religious buildings or medieval architecture. Alternatively known as Dordrecht Minster, the Great Church or the Church of Our Lady, this establishment is the largest church in the city. This church was ranked amongst the top 100 Dutch heritage sites on a list which was created by the department of Conservation in the early 1990s. It is noted for its Brabant Gothic style and its unfinished church tower.
The original plan was to construct an octagonal tower which would be over one hundred meters highs, however half way through the construction, it was noticed that the tower had begun to develop a significant lean. Like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the ground below the tower was too soft to support such a heavy structure, and the tower had begun to tilt. Because of the dangerous incline, the tower was never finished. During the 20th century, restoration work took place on the tower to ensure that the structure would remain safe for visitors. Despite the fact that it remained unfinished, the tower was still the tallest structure in Dordrecht for almost 500 years.

As a person that is interested in everything automotive related, when I decided to visit the Finger Lakes region in New York, I found quite interesting the fact that over there, there is a small village with huge car racing history. Watkins Glen, NY is the location where the first post WW II road race took place in the US in 1948. The village's streets were used for the original course up until 1952 when during the race a driver named Fred Wacker lost control of his car, struck the spectators injuring 10 people and killing a young boy. That was the end of the original course for this historic grand prix as in the following years the race was moved to another location outside the village. As you walk around Watkins Glen, it's impossible to not notice the car racing DNA that it has as all the pedestrian croswalks are painted like checkered flags. The marks of the original start and end of the course are still there intact and some of the buildings have beautiful road-race theme murals.
