I think the swamp is beautiful close up and this is the season for butterflies. The only problem was, I had on the 400mm lens which is not the best butterfly lens.

The sunset was beautiful tonight....and was what called me out with camera in hand...but this little insect love affair caught my eye! This is cropped in a bit, but I was really pleased with the results from a very hurried shot taken with the Olympus 12-40.
One of my favorite species, they are so pretty! Libellula pulchella, Libellulidae. Central IL, Spring 2015.
I haven't been on Flickr much lately. We are having a difficult time where I work and things are very stressful. So, I haven't been able to spend the time to post and comment on others' photos. I also haven't been out with my camera for several weeks. (I've just been doing Instagram from my phone, which is a nice outlet.) Not sure when things are going to turn around but I'll try and post some more here, this community means a lot to me.

Cuckoo wasp in family Chrysididae with bright metallic blue and red markings.
c. 10mm length, found on allotment on outskirts of Bath, UK.
About a half inch long, they are fairly common but keep low to the ground in flight. This one is feeding on Buckwheat.
