Another one - this time, nestled against the wall on the doorbell...

Only the third one I have seen all year

205_365 Grasshopper. I think if this little guy would have been wearing a top hat, he would have tipped it to me. He was definitely waving at me. Made me smile. It even looks like he's smiling back at me doesn't it.

Encounter while on a walk on the morning.

I found this nice little insect on my desk when I arrived at work today. He wasn't in good nick, so I put him outside where he might get food.

 

At least, I think it is a male, but I might be wrong.

 

Edit: I've had this identified as Netelia cristata by a man from the Natural History Museum.
