“The legislature, like the executive, has ceased, save indirectly, to be even the creature of the people: it is the creature, in the main, of pressure groups, and most of them, it must be manifest, are of dubious wisdom and even more dubious honesty. Laws are no longer made by a rational process of public discussion; they are made by a process of blackmail and intimidation, and they are executed in the same manner. The typical lawmaker of today is a man wholly devoid of principle – a mere counter in a grotesque and knavish game. If the right pressure could be applied to him he would be cheerfully in favor of polygamy, astrology or cannibalism."
---H.L. Mencken writing in the American Mercury, May 1930
This somewhat indirectly from Mandelbulb3d by way of Dreamlike AI and finally Deep Dream. Deep Dream contributed all the human figures while reworking the doors and windows in the back. The people seem to be dressed formally and waiting to file in to the small room on the right. Or, perhaps they are waiting for a train.
Dramatic cloud sceneries with stray sun light are typical for Iceland. Such unique moods of the light arise from low elevation sunlight not reaching the ground that falls through broken multi-layered cloud decks. This indirect light is causing different hues and light intensities at the surface. The black hills in the background belong to the 330 ft (100 m) high terminal moraine of Svínafellsjökull glacier in Skaftafell, southern Iceland. The moraine is composed out of volcanic breccia eroded by the glacier from the surrounding mountains. The steep ice fall of Svínafellsjökull follows gravity at a speed of 3.3 ft (1 m) per day. Hence, the ice of the bordering glacial lake, that is up to 1.3 ft (40 cm) thick, is steeply piled up at the terminal moraine. This glacial drift of 0.4 inch (1 cm) within 15 minutes causes the ice of the glacier and the ice on the lake to crack constantly under this immense pressure. A multitude of tension cracks form within the ice. This produces a stunning network of parallel aligning white lines. The cracking sounds produced by the drifting ice, the harsh winter conditions at 17°F (-8°C) and chilly winds together with the impressive light situation made this experience on the ice unforgettable.

On the way up to the refugio fueled by dark chocolate and plantain chips. Back at the parking area you have two choices when it comes to trails: direct or indirect. I would say it was a pretty even split, non-locals hitting the switch backs and locals heading up the direct route. The refugio Josè Rivas sits at 4864m (nearly 16,000 ft!!). Needless to say, we were not having any philosophical debates on the way up.
The identification of G21.5-0.9 as the remnant of a supernova explosion is based on indirect evidence from radio and X-ray observations. At both radio and X-ray wavelengths, it appears as round patch in the sky. Detailed observations with radio telescopes confirm that the radio waves are produced by high energy electrons spiraling around magnetic field lines (synchrotron radiation). The X-rays are probably produced by the same process, but the electrons involved have energies many thousands times higher than those that produce the radio waves. The favored theory is that the high-energy electrons responsible for both the radio and X-ray emission are produced by a rapidly rotating, highly magnetized neutron star left behind when a massive star exploded some 40,000 years ago.

First photosession that I organized this year. The result of collaboration of actress Christina and Julia that was our makeup artist and hair designer. Both of them I shot in the past. This photosession was amazing collaboration and we had a lot of fun doing it.
Majority of people say that year 2020 was tough for them, while for me it was an amazing year. I knew it in December 2019 and regardless all quarantine restrictions and other things that others found hard, I found that amount of good and amazing things that happened to me were much more than bad ones.
Was it because of my identinty? Or because I tried to get rid of the negitive thinking and found positive things in life? Don't know. The only thing that was affected by past year was amount of photosessions I organized - much less than it was in 2019. On the other side, the overall quality of all photoshots was better. Hope so.
Identintity is the story you tell yourself about yourself. Too many of us were telling ourselves story that other people wrote the lyrics to.

Zoophycos trace fossil in the Mississippian of Ohio, USA.
Trace fossils are any indirect evidence of ancient life. They refer to features in rocks that do not represent parts of the body of a once-living organism. Traces include footprints, tracks, trails, burrows, borings, and bitemarks. Body fossils provide information about the morphology of ancient organisms, while trace fossils provide information about the behavior of ancient life forms. Interpreting trace fossils and determination of the identity of a trace maker can be straightforward (for example, a dinosaur footprint represents walking behavior) or not. Sediments that have trace fossils are said to be bioturbated. Burrowed textures in sedimentary rocks are referred to as bioturbation. Trace fossils have scientific names assigned to them, in the same style & manner as living organisms or body fossils.
The outcrop shown above is in the Vinton Member in eastern Ohio. The Vinton is the uppermost of four stratigraphic units in the Mississippian-aged, siliciclastics-dominated Logan Formation. Ascending from the base, they are the Berne Conglomerate Member, the Byer Sandstone Member, the Allensville Member, and the Vinton Member. The Vinton is dominated by sandstones, siltstones, and shales deposited in relatively shallow marine facies.
The curving grooves are part of a trace fossil called Zoophycos, a distinctive feeding trace with an overall spiral morphology (for example, see:
www.sjvgeology.org/geology/fossils/zoophycos_drawings.gif).
The pale yellowish and brownish coloration is iron oxide staining from weathering.
Stratigraphy: Vinton Member, upper Logan Formation, Osagean Series, upper Lower Mississippian

Meet my little Starfish Flower ✨This quirky succulent has spiny stems and blooms with these amazing speckled, star-shaped flowers. They can smell a bit like rotting meat to attract flies for pollination, but they’re so fascinating up close!
Scientific name: Orbea variegata
Family: Apocynaceae
(Subfamily: Asclepiadoideae)
English common names: Starfish Flower,
Carrion Flower, Toad Cactus (even though it’s not a cactus!)
Thai common name: ดาวลาย (Dao Lai),
ดอกดาวลาย (Dok Dao Lai), บัวสวรรค์ (sometimes used loosely)
Note: Thai sellers often just call it “ดาวลาย” for the variegated star shape.
Origin: Native to South Africa (Cape Provinces)
Blooming season: Mainly late summer to autumn (but in tropical conditions it can bloom intermittently year-round if happy).
Care tips
Sunlight: Bright indirect light or filtered sun.
Can take some direct morning sun, but avoid strong afternoon sun in hot climates—it can scorch.
Shade cloth (50–70%) is ideal outdoors in strong tropical sun.
Watering: Low to moderate. Water thoroughly when soil is dry, but let it dry out between waterings. In rainy season or cooler periods, reduce watering to avoid rot. Very well-draining soil is essential (cactus/succulent mix is perfect).
We are sure that smartphones change our lifestyle, … However, we can’t deny the negative effects of smartphones on society and our lives. Over the past years, researchers have found many direct and indirect negative effects. Among this negative effect is loneliness which can lead to depression and social anxiety…
ELECTRONIC SOUL.
Phones are now a day more sophisticated and developed that help every person to reach anyone anywhere at any moment, but the question remains: why the medium who gathers us disperses us? Are smartphones killing the planet faster than anyone expected? Is that logical?!
The world is progressing very fast in all fields, involving technology. The phone was developing so rapidly over the last few years. It became more closely embedded in our day-to-day lives than ever before, and I could describe the propagation of smartphones as plague, Speedy, and quiet. So I wanted to intervene in that by giving a voice to a subject that has had no voice.
When we’re looking at these images, we’re looking at how Chinese citizens are addicted to their phones, therefore I want from my project to enlighten this current issue, also the dangers that could generate from this issue like depression, loneliness, ...
If you told me back in 2000 what these devices would be capable of in around 20 years, I’d call you crazy, and I wouldn’t be alone. Back then, no one could have predicted the impact phones would have on our lives. It would have sounded like science fiction. This got me thinking: What will smartphones of the future change in our habitude as humans?

En ces périodes festives comme le reste du temps, continuons de vivre à la française :
" France embodies everything religious zealots everywhere hate: enjoyment of life here on earth in a myriad little ways: a fragrant cup of coffee and buttery croissant in the morning, beautiful women in short dresses smiling freely on the street, the smell of warm bread, a bottle of wine shared with friends, a dab of perfume, children playing in the Luxembourg Gardens, the right not to believe in any god, not to worry about calories, to flirt and smoke and enjoy sex outside of marriage, to take vacations, to read any book you want, to go to school for free, to play, to laugh, to argue, to make fun of prelates and politicians alike, to leave worrying about the afterlife to the dead.
No country does life on earth better than the French.
Paris, we love you. We cry for you. You are mourning tonight, and we with you. We know you will laugh again, and sing again, and make love, and heal, because loving life is your essence. The forces of darkness will ebb. They will lose. They always do. "
Elles perdront. Elles perdent toujours. »

"When the sun is near the horizon, sunlight travels through a greater depth of atmosphere, reducing the intensity of the direct light, so that more of the illumination comes from indirect light from the sky, reducing the lighting ratio. More blue light is scattered, so if the sun is present, its light appears more reddish. In addition, the sun's small angle with the horizon produces longer shadows.
The term "hour" is used figuratively; the effect has no clearly defined duration and varies according to season and latitude. The character of the lighting is determined by the sun's altitude, and the time for the sun to move from the horizon to a specified altitude depends on a location's latitude and the time of year. In Los Angeles California, at an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset, the sun has an altitude of about 10°–12°. For a location closer to the equator, the same altitude is reached in less than an hour, and for a location farther from the equator, the altitude is reached in more than one hour. For a location sufficiently far from the equator, the sun may not reach an altitude of 10°, and the golden hour lasts for the entire day in certain seasons.
In the middle of the day, the bright overhead sun can create strong highlights and dark shadows. The degree to which overexposure can occur varies because different types of film and digital cameras have different dynamic ranges."

67. Of only one thing can it be asserted that it is not possible not to be, only one thing’s being is completely indubitable, apodictic necessity (necessarium apodicticum): the being which, strictly speaking, is above being.
68. »To be« - this expression could be referred to Metaphysicum Absolutum in an analogical way only.
69. If I say that God »exists«, God is supposed to be an ideal objectivity, and it is a desacralisation - that is to say a blasphemy.
70. If God were outside me then God would be not God but one of the things that exist. To suppose an objective God is strictly speaking an indirect negation of God.
71. Strictly speaking we cannot say whether God exists or not. Only in realisation will God be what God actually is; otherwise He is a possibility: the possibility of Myself. God in a sense does not exist but »may exist«.
72. God creates from himself, in himself and to himself: He creates into himself.
73. Not only can God do anything (omnipotentia) but also He does everything (omniagentia).
74. God is infinitely beautiful because He is infinitely similar to himself.
75. The omnipresence of God does not mean that He is in everything and pervades everything but that everything is in God.
two years on, fukushima is still spewing and the lamestream media and equally lame EPA have done little to nothing to inform people about the dangers, much less what counteractive measures might be taken. there may certainly be better articles on the net, but i found the food and supplement lists in the not-new articles below worthwhile. you can ignore the screech about bin laden and iran in the first link. the author was politically naive on that account. my intent is to share the lists.

31.12.16. Service 203 follows an interesting but highly indirect route between Barnsley and Doncaster, although its future looks to be under threat - full details of service changes to be made at the end of January have yet to emerge. One of the most scenic spots is Hooton Pagnell, where the local limestone creates an appearance reminiscent of a Cotswold village. The 203 is currently the village's only bus service, although the road to the right leading towards South Elmsall through a narrow gap between buildings, used to carry two separate hourly services, the 211 to Barnsley and the 498 to Wakefield. Now it has nothing. This TM Travel Solo is working the 1035 from Barnsley, due in Doncaster at 1159.

Darya only agrees to make fashion style photoshots. She is a professional model, owner of a kids model school and a very positive and open person.
Everytime I'm shooting her, I'm astonished how easy to work with her. There is no need to guide her - she catches straight any ideas and photographer must only give a general explanation on final result, to perform absolutely the best.
The session usually lasts for 2 hours, and some girls starts to repeat their poses after the 1st hour. Darya is so creative and professional, that the time flies with her like a blink of an eye. You start shooting and a moment after, you have 500+ photos on camera, you're happy and know that every second shot is a killer one.
She is the great example of what professional model is capable of. Some photographers say that a good photoshot mostly depends on the skills of photographer. I think opposite and state that 90% of a good portrait depends on a model. In case of Darya it's close to 99.99%.

The original but short lived 'Northern Electrics' livery was nicknamed 'Cadbury' I thought it sat well on the 319's.
The 'new' units were kept in clean condition by Allerton Depot, it was certainly a step up from the Sprinter era DMU's they replaced on the Manchester / Wigan / Preston and later Blackpool services.
On this particular evening I got three in line but by default ...
I think two of these units still exist, 377 is a ROG unit and 382 is the unique 799/2.
* I was indirectly involved in the Liverpool Lime Street cutting wall collapse back in the winter of 2017.
I passed the scene just beyond Edge Hill station fifteen minutes before the incident. I saw events unfold over half an hour when everything in and out of the terminus was stopped.
Question was, how to get home?
Lime Street Merseyrail station was closed as part of the on-going Wirral loop line upgrade, so I walked to Central and caught a train to Southport thence after a delay back to Wigan Wallgate. A short walk to Wigan North Western and a 319 EMU was in but going nowhere, all trains cancelled.
So Northern paid for a taxi to Bryn station to pick my car up, eventful evening!
CP train 149 glides westward through the curves approaching Hope, BC on a cold winter morning.
My first free Saturday morning in months happened to land on a day with an absolutely torrential downpour, and temperatures just a few degrees above freezing. Regardless, I dressed for the elements, and hit the road before dawn.
My goal for the day was to shoot as much eastbound traffic on the 'CP' side of the river, using the cloud cover and indirect light to open up angles that are prohibitive to shoot on clear days. As soon as dawn broke though, the first eastbounds were still a ways behind me, so I passed the time by shooting this westbound on the 'CN' side.
About the Rockwell B-1 Lancer
The B-1 owns its existence indirectly to the shooting down over the Soviet Union of the U-2 spy plane piloted by Francis Gary Powers. That incident made apparent that the era of high-altitude bomber raids was over, killed by the advancement of Surface-to-Air Missiles and prompting the cancellation in 1961 of the Mach 3-capable XB-70 Valkyrie bomber. This started a lengthy study for a new bomber able of low altitude penetration of enemy airspace and supersonic speeds, similarly to the F-111 Aardvark but with greater payload and range.
