I photographed the bird through the kitchen window. Outside I placed a Yongnuo YN685, which flashed against the wall facing me. So the bird was illuminated indirectly. I triggered the flash with a Yongnuo YN-622C-TX.
Wollaton Hall is an Elizabethan country house built in the 1580s, and stands on a prominent hill in Wollaton Park, Nottingham, England.
The Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises was filmed in Wollaton Park, with Wollaton Hall as Wayne Manor.
The Hall is five miles north of Gotham, Nottinghamshire, through which Gotham City indirectly got its name.
Tonlé Sap (literally large river (tonle); fresh, not salty (sap), commonly translated to "Great Lake") refers to a seasonally inundated freshwater lake, the Tonlé Sap Lake and an attached river, the 120 km (75 mi) long Tonlé Sap River, that connects the lake to the Mekong.
They form the central part of a complex hydrological system, situated in the 12,876 km2 (4,971 sq mi) Cambodian floodplain covered with a mosaic of natural and agricultural habitats that the Mekong replenishes with water and sediments annually. The central plain formation is the result of millions of years of Mekong alluvial deposition and discharge. From a geological perspective, the Tonlé Sap Lake and Tonlé Sap River are a current freeze-frame representation of the slowly, but ever shifting Lower Mekong Basin. Annual fluctuation of the Mekong's water volume, supplemented by the Asian Monsoon regime causes the unique flow reversal of the Tonle Sap River.
The Tonlé Sap Lake occupies a geological depression (the lowest lying area) of the vast alluvial and lacustrine floodplain in the Lower Mekong Basin, which had been induced by the collision of the Indian Plate with the Eurasian Plate. The lake's size, length and water volume varies considerably over the course of a year from an area of around 2,500 km2 (965 sq mi), a volume of 1 km3 (0 cu mi) and a length of 160 km (99 mi) at the end of the dry season in late April to an area of up to 16,000 km2 (6,178 sq mi), a volume of 80 km3 (19 cu mi) and a length of 250 km (160 mi) as the Mekong maximum and the peak of the South-West monsoon's precipitation culminate in September and early October.
As one of the world’s most varied and productive ecosystems the region has always been of central importance for Cambodia's food provision. It proved capable to maintain the Angkorean civilization, the largest pre-industrial settlement complex in world history. Either directly or indirectly it affects the livelihood of large numbers of a predominantly rural population to this day. With regards to a growing and migrating population, ineffective administration and widespread indifference towards environmental issues the lake and its surrounding ecosystem is coming under increasing pressure from over-exploitation and habitat degradation, fragmentation and loss. All Mekong riparian states have either announced or already implemented plans to increasingly exploit the river's hydroelectric potential. A succession of international facilities that dam the river's mainstream is likely to be the gravest danger yet for the entire Tonle Sap eco-region.
The largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, that contains an exceptional large variety of interconnected eco-regions with a high degree of biodiversity is a biodiversity hotspot and was designated as a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1997.

Warkworth Castle is a ruined medieval castle in Warkworth in the English county of Northumberland. The village and castle occupy a loop of the River Coquet, less than a mile from England's north-east coast. When the castle was founded is uncertain: traditionally its construction has been ascribed to Prince Henry of Scotland, Earl of Northumbria, in the mid-12th century, but it may have been built by King Henry II of England when he took control of England's northern counties. Warkworth Castle was first documented in a charter of 1157–1164 when Henry II granted it to Roger fitz Richard. The timber castle was considered "feeble", and was left undefended when the Scots invaded in 1173.
Roger's son Robert inherited and improved the castle. Robert was a favourite of King John, and hosted him at Warkworth Castle in 1213. The castle remained in the family line, with periods of guardianship when heirs were too young to control their estates. King Edward I stayed overnight in 1292 and John de Clavering, descendant of Roger fitz Richard, made the Crown his inheritor. With the outbreak of the Anglo-Scottish Wars, Edward II invested in castles, including Warkworth, where he funded the strengthening of the garrison in 1319. Twice in 1327 the Scots besieged the castle without success.
John de Clavering died in 1332 and his widow in 1345, at which point The 2nd Baron Percy of Alnwick took control of Warkworth Castle, having been promised Clavering's property by Edward III. Henry Percy, 1st Earl of Northumberland, added the imposing keep overlooking the village of Warkworth in the late 14th century. The fourth earl remodelled the buildings in the bailey and began the construction of a collegiate church within the castle, but work on the latter was abandoned after his death. Although The 10th Earl of Northumberland supported Parliament during the English Civil War, the castle was damaged during the conflict. The last Percy earl died in 1670. In the mid-18th century the castle found its way into the hands of Hugh Smithson, who married the indirect Percy heiress. He adopted the surname "Percy" and founded the dynasty of the Dukes of Northumberland, through whom possession of the castle descended.
In the late 19th century, the dukes refurbished Warkworth Castle and Anthony Salvin was commissioned to restore the keep. The 8th Duke of Northumberland gave custody of the castle to the Office of Works in 1922. Since 1984 English Heritage has cared for the site, which is a Grade I listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
Sunlight that has gone through the clouds, indirect light, then reflected by numerous objects, and then, in this fractured and multidirectional way, it has entered through the window. And my lens (Samyang 300/6.3 mirror) allows only a small portion of this light to reach the camera's sensor. And, here, on the sensor, the eight or so minutes' journey of the photons, from the sun to my home, comes to an abrupt end. My camera converts the impact the photons have on my sensor, into a flow of electrons, which the processor then translates into information about strength and colour of the light received. The end result is the visual conversion of this information. An "image" it is only to us. The camera can't see.
I promised, so here's the first photo of my new series called "Colors of Life" :)
These are three dandelion seeds in water with three little droplets on top of them. I mixed food coloring with water for different colors of the drops.
The seeds were standing in a black baking sheet.
Just minimal Photoshop was done!
I hope you like it! Two more photos are coming up the next days :)

Yet another from an evening on Sunset Beach, a bit north of the North/South Carolina line. The coastline turns nearly East-West here, so you can get sunset shots on the East coast too. The sun is just sliding to the horizon here on 11/16, illuminating the sky and, indirectly, the beach too. This was taken about 4 minutes before Carolina Sunset 2, below.

The environment, directly and indirectly, affects our lives; it expresses all the things that surround us from water, air, humans, animals, plants. Everything around us is an integral part of the environment, and any imbalance, increase or decrease causes disruption of this ecosystem.
The environment faces a lot of problems, including the elements of the environment itself, the most important of which is human; man is one of the biggest factors that help in the environmental imbalance through killing animals, eliminating vegetation, blowing up vapors, toxic gases, pollutants in the air and Many human and random activities have caused the ozone layer to be degraded, and the presence of plants on the ground has been reduced, resulting in low oxygen production, causing many diseases into the environment. Fish deaths are caused by toxic liquids and compounds that flow to the sea.
One of the most important problems and risks of environmental pollution is the increased risk of cancer, lung disease, cardiovascular disease, the extinction of many organisms and their inability to adapt to the new environment. However, some natural factors also cause an environmental imbalance

Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast from the Greek mainland. It is the largest island of a small, circular archipelago, which bears the same name and is the remnant of a volcanic caldera. It forms the southernmost member of the Cyclades group of islands, with an area of approximately 73 km2 (28 sq mi) and a 2011 census population of 15,550. The municipality of Santorini includes the inhabited islands of Santorini and Therasia, as well as the uninhabited islands of Nea Kameni, Palaia Kameni, Aspronisi and Christiana.
The island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history: the Minoan eruption (sometimes called the Thera eruption), which occurred about 3,600 years ago at the height of the Minoan civilization. The eruption left a large caldera surrounded by volcanic ash deposits hundreds of metres deep. It may have led indirectly to the collapse of the Minoan civilization on the island of Crete, 110 km (68 mi) to the south, through a gigantic tsunami. Another popular theory holds that the Thera eruption is the source of the legend of Atlantis.
It is the most active volcanic centre in the South Aegean Volcanic Arc, though what remains today is chiefly a water-filled caldera. The volcanic arc is approximately 500 km (310 mi) long and 20 to 40 km (12 to 25 mi) wide. The region first became volcanically active around 3-4 million years ago,[citation needed] though volcanism on Thera began around 2 million years ago with the extrusion of dacitic lavas from vents around Akrotiri.

Did this indirectly for the wine company. They asked the restaurant to bake a cake using the wine and have a photo taken. I'm thinking now I should have taken some control of the lighting.
The cake was yummy. It was a very moist spice cake. It is a sweet wine.

These live on trees and sleep under the bark so what it was doing in Camerahouse Foto Supplies yesterday remains a mystery. It was caught by a photographer and bought to me in a little film canister with little breathing hole in top...
These get pretty big for an Aussie Jumper and also when they move they seemingly have 1 gear R and I think R is for race mode!!
They are a pretty challenging one to Photograph sometimes.
I asked it why it did not bring me the Om1 mkii but at the time of posting this I am still waiting for a response.
I made this hand held stack using my Diffuser.
I left WB as is and did not tweak color in any way.
The editing is minimal
There is no removing of concentrated light in the catch lights in Adobe PS.
Happy with the new version of CJ diffuser. It is not as tall and not as long. I have learned a lot while developing it. The final diffusion system is 1 panel but it is a 3 stage layer thickness to make sure it is cutting light more where the brightest part is to make it as even as I can across the frame without sacrificing output from the flash. Hey I want my battery to last as long as possible (longer shooting) and I dont want to melt my flash either.
Since a macro diffuser is a direct system ( I love indirect studio softboxes ) a lot of diffusers have hotspots to some degree.
Not CJ Diffuser V2.
To my knowledge the stuff (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)I have used is not being used by anyone else. It is very strong , heat and cold resistant and also chemical and uv resistant.

Well first off let me say that Santa brought me a late Christmas present ... indirectly. My eldest daughter who is into photography like me gave me a LED light ring for taking macro captures. She thought it would be cool to use. The issue was that I really did not have a macro lens, and also all my lenses have 77mm filter rings ... and the light kit only had adapters up to 67mm.
She was disappointed when I told her this, and was going to return it and see if she could get a LED light kit for larger lenses ... I told her NOT to, and that this was FINALLY my sign to go ahead and get the Macro lens. I had been toying with getting the 100mm 2.8 by Canon for well over a year now figuring it would be great for portraits and also taking true macros.
Mrs. Krach was fine with me taking the plunge with the new lens, and I ordered it Christmas night. Amazingly without even express shipping, the lens arrived today already (guess the delivery trucks are empty ;)
So yeah, after working all day at the office, quite the fun to come home and start testing it out.
This capture here was taken of our Schnauzer (Who will really not be happy because he needs some grooming) who grudgingly posed there in the really low poor lighting, but was perfect for testing out the new 100mm lens for focusing quickly in the poor light on the very hard to see 'black eye' there beyond all that hair. Was impressed with the results given the challenging conditions. (Note to self, time to get out the clippers this coming weekend ...)
BTW ... by having the 100mm around for portraits, my daughter will be happy now as my 5 year old trusty Sigma 70/200 f2.8 that I was using as my portrait lens, she will be able to now 'borrow'. Hence I think this was her whole idea all along by getting me the LED filter ring light.
Minimal, symmetrical, in indirect sunlight, but the question is, "what is that?". Taken for the Macro Mondays theme "What Is That?"

This is a vertical rock face at Bare Island, taken in indirect, diffused light. Bare Island is connected to the peninsula by a solid bridge (Bare Island Road).
The area around the La Perouse peninsula is considered to be one of the best scuba diving sites in NSW. Bare Island has a number of dive sites, some of which extend to over 19 metres in depth. The reef around the area is extensive. There are also a number of dives around the mainland at La Perouse. Scuba divers here can see the common (weedy) sea dragon, red Indianfish, pygmy pipefish and big belly sea horses as well as fish normally found on dive sites in the Sydney area. Bare Island Fort’s structure provides a picturesque backdrop for any event, with spectacular scenic views over La Perouse. The island was the location for some thrilling action sequences in the Hollywood film, Mission: Impossible 2.
La Perouse pronounced (Lah-Peh-Roos) "Gooriwal" is a suburb in south-eastern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The suburb of La Perouse is located about 14 kilometres southeast of the Sydney central business district, in the City of Randwick.
The La Perouse peninsula is the northern headland of Botany Bay. It is notable for its old military outpost at Bare Island and the Kamay Botany Bay National Park. Congwong Bay Beach, Little Congwong Beach, and the beach at Frenchmans Bay provide protected swimming areas in Botany Bay.

Bananas are the staple starch of many tropical populations. Depending upon cultivar and ripeness, the flesh can vary in taste from starchy to sweet, and texture from firm to mushy. Both skin and inner part can be eaten raw or cooked. Bananas' flavor is due, amongst other chemicals, to isoamyl acetate which is one of the main constituents of banana oil.
During the ripening process, bananas produce a plant hormone called ethylene, which indirectly affects the flavor. Among other things, ethylene stimulates the formation of amylase, an enzyme that breaks down starch into sugar, influencing the taste of bananas. The greener, less ripe bananas contain higher levels of starch and, consequently, have a "starchier" taste. On the other hand, yellow bananas taste sweeter due to higher sugar concentrations. Furthermore, ethylene signals the production of pectinase, an enzyme which breaks down the pectin between the cells of the banana, causing the banana to soften as it ripens.
Bananas are eaten deep fried, baked in their skin in a split bamboo, or steamed in glutinous rice wrapped in a banana leaf. Bananas can be made into jam. Banana pancakes are popular amongst backpackers and other travelers in South Asia and Southeast Asia. This has elicited the expression Banana Pancake Trail for those places in Asia that cater to this group of travelers. Banana chips are a snack produced from sliced dehydrated or fried banana or plantain, which have a dark brown color and an intense banana taste. Dried bananas are also ground to make banana flour. Extracting juice is difficult, because when a banana is compressed, it simply turns to pulp. Bananas fried with batter is a popular dessert in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. A similar dish is known in the United States as banana fritters. Plantains are used in various stews and curries or cooked, baked or mashed in much the same way as potatoes.

To me- Custom is making things "work"-
In this very small bathroom,
there are many Custom details.

Strictly speaking, Alpenglow refers to indirect sunlight reflected or diffracted by the atmosphere after sunset or before sunrise. This diffuse illumination creates soft shadows in addition to the reddish color. The term is also used informally to include direct illumination by the reddish light of the rising or setting sun, with sharply defined shadows.
